My new dentist, Dr. Toledo was absolutely wonderful as had been by previous dentist Dr. Skylar at this office. Dr. Toledo said it was finally time to replace my crown. It had been over 35 years. So it was time to do it. Quoted me a price of $356. Had it underway with the impression of the tooth. Then I get a call from Krystle the fine woman up front asking if I could wait a week due to insurance issues. They're in charge. I waited. Got the new crown two days ago. Yeah! Better news? I had to wait an inordinate amount of time and see my doctor and only barely got them to finally help me. They do not do emergency visits at all, either, so your ability to get seen can be highly variable, and you never seem to see the same person twice. My wife had a filling that they put in which caused her significant pain, and she had to go back to have it fixed. After multiple bad experiences, and constant hounding to make new appointments, we will be going elsewhere.

They let me know when I could come in. Wore a mask in, everyone was geared up for safety. They have special air equipment in the rooms to circulate the air in and out for superior air quality. Nancy pays special attention to different areas of my teeth for cold sensitivity. My teeth feel amazing when I finish. Dr. Kellen Bosma comes in to do a thorough check of my teeth, gums and tongue after the cleaning and presents areas of concern. She is conservative in her approach to patient care and is great at employing effective pain reduction techniques. I was looking into a special gum procedure and mentioned to Dr. Ramona about a cutting-edge technique I read about that had been developed by a dentist in Washington State. Not only did she know all about it, but also I learned that her husband had recently flown out to Washington for training to become certified in this proprietary treatment. No emergency service/ after hours. Had to wait a day (Monday) to be seen. Dentist confirmed dry socket but didn't pack it. She placed some numbing gel inside that lasted 2 hours before falling out. Hoping it was enough, he waited until the following day. This is when we learned just how toxic and abusive the support staff is. The staff made decisions about care rather than consult. They accused him of being a smoker (he clearly isn't) and told him he couldn't be seen until the next day. Unable to work or eat. This is a farmer who works through pain and illness all the time and having this exposed nerve go untreated for 4 days is DISGUSTING. I called back to get banned of oral surgeon and support staff refused to give me the Dr name. My son got on the phone and we were told she would have to get with the Dr to find out which surgeon he should see. That was icky after threatening to call the licensing board of Illinois to file a complaint which we are clearly doing now too. The lack of basic human decency in the support staff who has assumed the role of a doctor demonstrates the lack of organization and professionalism in this office. Not certain where they source their doctors from but any dentist who admittedly doesn't know how to pack a dry socket needs to be known for all. In addition, whoever manages this office has done an excellent job in training the staff to act like victims when their toxic and very unprofessional behavior backfires on them. What office doesn't know the name of the oral surgeons who see patients in their office? One that is looking for a lawsuit for gross negligence.

The first time I came into Patel Family Dental, they were all so welcoming and made me feel at ease. Dr. Patel explained everything before hand and made sure I was more than comfortable with the procedure. If I felt any sort of discomfort he would stop and give me more anesthetic. I apologized for my silly fear and he made it more than obvious that he was happy to help. Second visit; I forgot about my appointment. When they called to inform me, they stated they were able to squeeze me in that morning. When I arrived I apologized greatly and everyone from the receptionist, assistants and the Doctor himself made me feel as if they understood that things happen. My procedure plan changed as my tooth condition had worsened, in which Dr. Patel needed to spend more time on my mouth than scheduled for, in which I'm sure made his schedule very tight. Again, I apologized and he said not to worry. Never once did I feel judged or ashamed for being late and basically pushing his schedule behind. He took his time and was still beyond friendly and professional. After the visit he went over instructions for at home care and included his cell phone number; in which he instructed me to call anytime (even on weekends or at night) if I have any issues or questions. Another crown that Family Dental put in, fell out ! Another crown that was put in was not put in right, the tooth under it is decaying and I will loose it andwill have to have another I implant.
