I was overall happy with my teeth but wanted to add more veneers to perfect my smile while also replacing my previous 4 that I got almost 20 years out of. I was told this would be a very easy and simple case, that they do this all the time. That was incorrect. I was in excruciating pain starting with my prepping appointment, I knew I had a lot of work done so I thought it was just recovery but it never let up. Even taking pain reliever around the clock, I was still waking up in pain and getting headaches daily. I had my temporaries in for 2 weeks and they fell out 3 times, I was told this was normal by the office but to me this was anything but. After my next appointment where I got my finals I assumed it would be better, wrong. The final veneers not only looked horrible, but even worse was that the pain & headaches increased. Then, after a week, I lose a permanent veneer. I'm again told this is normal & it's gets fixed. The next week, I lose another permanent veneer only this time, they are unable to get me in for 5 days. This is obviously not an option so I start calling other offices to find somewhere to help me and luckily got right in to another local office. This other office was shocked to hear that these had fallen out but were even more shocked to hear that I thought I got "veneers." They told me that my tooth was way over prepped to be a veneer and I had a 3/4 crown that they were putting back on. I was also told that because so much of my enamel had been removed, these will continue to come off because they were not prepped correctly. To fix this I will need to remove the remaining enamel on my teeth to get a secure bond. I was left with teeth that looked NOTHING like the photos we consulted over, was in horrible pain, and now was being told I would have to get these redone. My tooth structure is gone and can never come back, I'm only 37 years old. I got another opinion from a different office and they said the same thing. They also thoroughly checked my bite to find that it was the cause for my headaches and pain, it was no where near where it should be. The teeth did not fit my mouth and my bite was completely off. At this point, I knew my teeth were irreversibly damaged and I was never going back to PrarieView Dental ever again. I've reached out to them 4 times asking for at least my money back. They finally agreed to give me just over half of my money back IF I sign a release of claims that prevents me from doing 2 pages of things, including sharing my experience. Keep your money, I'd rather people know to never go here. I'm grateful that as I write this, I have beautiful new veneers and am in no more pain thanks to a very knowledgeable and professional local dentist. But it took 7 months to get here with a lot of pain, money, and dentist appointments. I would NEVER recommend anyone to this office, for anything!

They wanted me to reschedule. I didn't reschedule. None of the staff was rude. That is why I chose to go there. I am upset that they didn't message me to tell me they didn't have time. I don't have a car, so I have to walk everywhere and they are close to my home. My mouth still hurts. So I have to find someone else who has time to see me. I booked the appointment online, so I don't understand what the deal was, as to why they didn't have time? Overall, the staff was nice. I do recommend they get some help with time management, so noone else experiences this. Now I have to find another dentist, so I won't be wasting mine or their time. I never even seen the dentist. If I could rate my experience without the stars, I would give them a negative two.

I saw Dr. Allen at Grand Dental in Sycamore for an orthodontic consult and highly recommend him,…read moreespecially if you're queer / lgbt+ , have more complex needs, or are looking for an empathetic non-judgmental orthodontist. I went because I am trans and having FMS (facial masculinization surgery) and my surgeon wanted me to consult with an orthodontist. I needed to see how the different options for FMS would impact having braces/Invisalign in the future, how braces/Invisalign might continue to change my jaw after surgery, and based on that, what surgical options would be best. Dr. Allen was really informative, he took the time to go through all of the possible options and answer all of my questions. It was clear that he is well informed on facial surgery, even when it doesn't directly relate to dentistry. He was really friendly and acted like they were all completely normal questions. I was definitely nervous to have an appointment about this and he made it a completely comfortable experience. Additionally, I've had other unrelated orthodontic consults in the past with other providers. Grand dental was the most thorough.

They really take time to explain treatment plans thoroughly and she has been great about offering a choice of solutions to various dental issues I've faced over the past few years. She is conservative in her approach to patient care and is great at employing effective pain reduction techniques. Additionally, I'm amazed how up-to-date this practice is regarding new technologies and advances in dental care. I was looking into a special gum procedure and mentioned to Dr. Ramona about a cutting-edge technique I read about that had been developed by a dentist in Washington State. Not only did she know all about it, but also I learned that her husband had recently flown out to Washington for training to become certified in this proprietary treatment. Impressive to say the least. The dentists as well as the dental hygienists and entire office staff are all very pleasant and personable. Highly recommended.

The first time I came into Patel Family Dental, they were all so welcoming and made me feel at ease. Dr. Patel explained everything before hand and made sure I was more than comfortable with the procedure. If I felt any sort of discomfort he would stop and give me more anesthetic. I apologized for my silly fear and he made it more than obvious that he was happy to help. Second visit; I forgot about my appointment. When they called to inform me, they stated they were able to squeeze me in that morning. When I arrived I apologized greatly and everyone from the receptionist, assistants and the Doctor himself made me feel as if they understood that things happen. My procedure plan changed as my tooth condition had worsened, in which Dr. Patel needed to spend more time on my mouth than scheduled for, in which I'm sure made his schedule very tight. Again, I apologized and he said not to worry. Never once did I feel judged or ashamed for being late and basically pushing his schedule behind. He took his time and was still beyond friendly and professional. After the visit he went over instructions for at home care and included his cell phone number; in which he instructed me to call anytime (even on weekends or at night) if I have any issues or questions. Overall; best dentist I have ever been to. Dr. Patel and his assistant Kourtney have calmed my anxiety with dentistry tremendously and make each visit easier and easier. They will have my business from now on! Thank you again Patel Family Dental
