There so many thoughtful touches, a pathway for my dads wheelchair, mulch barriers from my neighbors wild flowers, storage for our kayaks. The transformation was huge, it's like a whole new house. Gairy was incredibly kind, easy to work with, and very responsive throughout the process. Pricing was also very reasonable for the amount of work completed. We're extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend them.

Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.

Watson iron and steel did our railing for our back porch in 2019. They had to come back and make…read moresome corrections, but all in all, we were pleased with their work. We had them come back out a few months ago to measure for our new railing on our front porch. We told the man who came out to literally replicate the railings THEY made to match the back porch exactly. He looked and the back railings, measured the height, the distance between the pickets, etc. I was very clear, and he seemed to understand perfectly... it was simple "just make the exact same thing you made last time." Yep, got it! Well apparently it wasn't as simple as it seemed! On the order, they added additional posts instead of screwing into our pillars, and they added twice as many pickets. The communication between the man who came to take our order and the woman who executed the order was obviously quite poor. They told us that they needed to come out and measure again since we didn't want the additional posts, and even though it was their error, they still charged us an additional fee because they had to make another trip out. We argued endlessly about the fee, but finally gave up and just paid the fee. It was ridiculous. fast forward to today... It still isn't what we asked for! They did screw the railing into our columns instead of installing additional posts. But we still have twice as many pickets out front as we do in the back. It looks tacky, and after shelling out over $3K for the tiny railing, I hate it. I asked my husband what he wanted to do about it, and he said not to bother because there's no way they're going to fix it now that we have already paid them. Isn't that sad? That we're not even going to bother trying to work things out with these people because we know they won't do it. And don't forget, we're repeat customers. I wish there were more iron companies in and around Charlotte, but sadly, this seems to be the only one. The first picture is our back porch railing. There are 6 inches between the pickets. The second picture is our front porch. There are 3 inches between each packet. They definitely don't match.

Experience was worse than explosive diarrhea in rush hour traffic…read more Ordered material 10/12/2020. Told 6-8 weeks for install Followed up around week 10 - did not hear back Followed up around week 11 - did not hear back Followed up around week 12 - told unsure of when material was going to be delivered. Followed up around week 14 - did not hear back Followed up around week 16 - escalated to manager - offered roughly 2% credit for the delay and lack of communication. Was assured material would be delivered by 1/19 Week of 1/11-1/15 - randomly one day, I noticed spray painted lines all over the back yard. Utility marking. I was not made aware that utilities were going to be marked, that someone was going to be walking around my house, nothing. 1/19 - followed up late in the day because I hadn't received an update. I was told yup material came in and we're installing Thursday. Two day notice? Okay. 1/20 - I go to take my garbage out and the person who we worked with at this company to sign documents for the fence was in my back yard marking additional items. Again, no heads up, nothing. 1/21 - install day. Installers show up at about 8:20 and ask me if the material is there. No? Again, I know NOTHING about my fence because there has been hardly any communication. Materials show up around 8:45. Pretty much from that point on, issues arose. The irrigation lines were possibly in the way, the back line was diagonal and not straight (which was the estimators fault for no knowing how to measure). To fix it, they were going to make the fenced portion smaller than I wanted. After much discussion, we worked through those two issues. I was told the fence would be done this day. Well, much to my surprise, another over promise and under deliver. Another broken promise. Another lie. I was told the person that had the tools to build the gates was not able to come back out but they would be at my house to finish the install first thing on 1/22. We also discussed my dissatisfaction thus far and I was told they have heard their communication wasn't great and they were working on it. 1/22 - were the installers here first thing? Take a guess. I emailed and called Brad. I was ignored. Apparently our conversation about communication really sunk in. I called the office and the estimator called back saying they'd be there at lunch time. Again, I was assured the fence would be completed today. Installers finally showed up after 1pm. By 4, they had successfully dug 2 holes. They come to the door, tell me there's a problem. SHOCKER. They dug right where utilities were marked and said they couldn't finish because the gate wasn't big enough. Now we have to wait a THIRD day for our fence to be completed. As the installers were leaving for the day, I asked for Brad's bosses information. They told me Brad was the OWNER of the company. I actually laughed. 1/23 - installers showed up on time. Took a few hours and the fence was finally complete. I will also add that the first invoice was incomplete so I was sent another. The second invoice coincidentally left off part where they ask for reviews and list the sites. Thankfully I still had the original to tell everyone to stay away! Everything looks great and the dogs love being able to run around. Just wish it was a better experience. Stay away from this company. The communication is dismal, the customer service is dreadful and the delay was deplorable.

Unfortunately, we did this in the middle of Covid, believing that he had our best interests in mind. We had so many issues. The gates put on backwards, all of them. It took about 5 months to get the issues corrected. We had brick columns to be installed. He assured us this is who he had used many times. The brick work looked like I could have done it Granted, we purchased our own brick and had ordered it based on the masons advice. To his credit, he only told us how much and what to order. We did that, he came, it was raining, he did the project anyway--realizing that it was the wrong brick, the wrong mortar, which he admitted after it was done. Long story short, the mason was a debacle-and in the end we are left with a project that is a fence our dog can now not get out of, after that had to be corrected too, but our brick posts have to be torn down and redone. Yes he gave us a discount because he knew it was a bad job. But now we have to redo the brick columns because they look like I did them, and it is costing us thousands more than it should have. I would never recommend using them
