NOT REPUTABLE; GATEWAY MOVING & STORAGE DOES NOT DESERVE ANY STARS My husband selected Gateway Moving & Storage to do our house move 19 years ago. They are in NY; we are in NJ. Their movers damaged our unblemished 3-year-old fridge, leaving big dents and long black scratches in it. At that time the fridge cost $850 plus the $1,000 we paid them for our move. Their movers did not point out the damages they caused until we saw the damages and pointed them out to their movers. Then they did admit that they had caused them. One of their movers told us to contact their office on Monday morning when office personnel would be in. Our move happened on a Saturday. Their mover also told us that our damages would be handled by their office through their insurance. We followed up on Monday morning with a phone call and a detailed explanation about the damages that were caused by their movers; and guess what: Nothing Happened. Every time we called their phone number, we just received their answering machine. No one at Gateway Moving & Storage would return our phone calls. We had been duped. We then took our damages to small claims court. Gateway Moving & Storage never showed up in court. We received a judgement in our favor but never got paid. MY ADVICE: FIND A MORE REPUTABLE MOVING COMPANY AND SAVE YOURSELF THE POTENTIAL HEADACHE; IF THEY CREATE DAMAGES, THEY WON'T STAND BEHIND THEM. read more

Gateway moving and storage company: I will choose 0 star So I hired them to move from Omaha, NE to Austin TX, the sales people will sweet talk you and almost intimidate you to sign the contract on the phone, be careful as they will not tell you many things which will come up later. they charged me 10,000 dollars to move 2350 cuft and came there did not pick up half of the stuff, so I had to hire another company to do rest. then they will take 21 business days to get your stuff to you and when called they have no idea or estimation of when they will get the stuff, so if you are planning to take day off at work, it will not work. Then finally when they are here, they charged me to shuttle the stuff as the road said not trucks allowed so charged 1400 dollars extra to get my stuff to me. they will do this as soon as they got your deposit so be careful, I will not recommend this company, as not willing to work with you at all. The sale reps will call you multiple times a day to get your contract and will not tell you half the details but when you call them later you talk to this rude people who have not idea and almost saying F***U, we got you money and stuff so don't care, the company is not BBB accredited, they always ask for cash or money order only. not professional company at all, very dishonest. The company is found by columbian and hires cheap laborer who does not speak english, The owner has no American value at all, just here to make money. SCAM SCAM. SCAM. CONARTISTS! They are complete liesThey have no experience at all. They break everything. They do not use blankets, packing wrap, or tape. They just shove everything in a trailer and break half of it. They lie about everything. They lie about the truck they have to use. They don't have one. They do not have their own workers. The find people off the street that are completely inexperienced. They do not finish the job. They will dump your stuff out and leave it without helping unpack it properly. They will force you to pay before the job is over and hold your stuff hostage and then once you pay they will just dump it out half broken and take off before the job is over. While packing they will hide stuff in garbage piles that they are suppose to take with them instead of packing it. They are careless, wreck less, unprofessional, unreliable, inexperienced, complete liars, and scam artists. I would highly recommended NOT even wasting your time with a phone call to these con artists. They will also take apart your things and not keep the parts, and worst of all they are thief's!! They should not even be in business. The owner Shawn (Sean) is a complete con artist! I don't think he should even be allowed to call himself a legit company as they are frauds. read more
