Gateway Oaks has been good to us while we have been here. Pros: The units themselves have nice finishes in the kitchen and bathroom. Hardwood in the bathroom and kitchen, carpet in the rest. They are priced accordingly (pretty cheap, in my opinion) however, word on the street is that prices are jumping up due to popularity and other apartments and shopping that is being built along Gateway. The hallways are enclosed and climate controlled, and you have to have a key fob to gain access to the hallways, which is safe. The pool area is super nice and spacious and stays pretty busy during the summer. Cons: The trash by building 2 is always overflowing and gross, and the garbage men usually don't pick up what isn't thrown into the dumpster. There aren't really many community events. There wasn't one in my almost year of living here. I don't really know the other tenants. Communication from office to residents kind of sucks. Just tell us things last minute. Overall, great experience and safe place to live. We will miss living here! So quiet and homey!

I tell you I have been going through hell with these neighbors and all they can tell me is it's the pipes I'm not hearing the noise from no pipes like they said . I have been living in this apartment almost a year and never ever heard a pipe tapping or making any type of noise. So, now I'm crazy, and I'm hearing things. You don't know a damn thing about all this if you don't sleep in my apartment at night so you don't know what the hell is going on, you take everyone's word, if their lying you just go with the flow. I come home and all I ask for is peace without messing with me, you don't know anything about me, this is an everyday occurrence and waking me up out of my sleep at all times of the morning being disrupted and disrespectful, they have no proud and no matters either. I will never recommend anyone to live here. I didn't sign up for the shenanigans I been getting and I'm not about to let someone silence me either, if you come for me and I didn't call you, then you get what you put out. Now you can call me crazy all you like. But I'm well as I can be glory hallelujah. Don't ever tell me what's going on in my house not unless you walking in my shoes. Having to go back and forth to the doctor for migraines and tension, putting up with childish ass behavior from suppose to be grown ass people. I never had to live in a place like this, you all have your picks who you protect and who you don't. But you should be making it a safe haven for everyone, but y'all are all about the money, people mental health doesn't mean anything to you. The only thing I did not like is that they do not take their shoes off or wear boot covers when walking inside the apartment. They have a nearby man made lake that I like to go for running. When I was cleaning out a drawer, the front fell off and they charged me $50.00. The rent went up over $200 in the two and a half years I was there. When you walk into the building if it has been raining the floors are so slick you will fall if you are not careful. The ceiling is pealing and falling down but they won't do anything about it. The pool in down more than it is open. Neighborhood kids jump the gate and come swimming and then let a ton of their friends in. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!

I went through hell when I first went into the door of this place because for one bedroom it's not at $1,300 these people are charging $1,400 and above and it's not really worth it out here in the country of forney with no amenities. REALLY. WHEN I WENT IN VIEW ONE OF THE UNITS THERE'S spiders, and big bugs everywhere. Of course being a New foundation this may take place until they exterminate. Now I know what the complex is going to stay far as their comment behind this. Yes I did not get approved for this place but they also stole my $200 and told me that it was going to be refundable / 150 of it if I did not get approved. Now they're saying because it's been over 48 hours I cannot get my 150 back which they only suppose to kept $50 for the application. Ok let's talk about this third party cosigner they had for me. They are called the Guarantors they wanted to charge me over $2,000 plus dollars for them to co-sign for me and it still wasn't a guaranteed that I was going to get in the unit. They stated by the time I get ready to go ahead and do everything which was going to be on the 18th they wanted to do my income all over again. Remind you my application has not been open for 30 days so the income will remain the same rather if I get paid bi-weekly or weekly nothing has changed it would just be a waste time. Look these people just played me for my money they tried to make it like I was emailing them being upset. I cannot believe management just told me that over the phone basically in my face that I was emailing them and I was upset where do you see any upset in the email that didn't even make common sense,, because I stated in the email that this was making me tired going back and forth with them. However back to the part of the application processing. The bars at the dog park are wide enough for medium sized to small dogs to get out so that is worthless. There was a car accident where the outer gate of the complex was damaged and has been sitting broken on the sidewalk for over 2 weeks untouched, rebar and cement blocking the walkway where kids get off the bus, real safety hazard. They charge a fee of 35 dollars for a trash valet service that is mandatory even if you don't use it which is stupid. Rent will be increased every time you renew even though the community has only gotten worse since I got here. The house across the street are loud and dirty with trash and debris often on the sidewalks including vodka bottles, cigarette butts, even half eaten chicken bones. The apartment looked unswept and unvaccuumed when we moved in. When the ice storm came there was nothing done to prevent ice on the sidewalks. Just overall not a great place to live and given another chance, I would live elsewhere.
