I liked how small the classes were and everything felt very personal and intimate. The teachers cared a lot about the students, and we went on fun school trips. The academics were somewhat challenging, but not unrealistic. We had a dance or two, wish we had more. But a lot of the kids weren't into that kind of stuff. Small, cute, hippy, crunchy/granola type school. The social scene at this school was okay. I didn't make a ton of new friends, but there were some nice kids there. The only bad thing was that a girl from the middle school decided to transfer here the same time I did, and then when we both graduated from this school (only goes until 8th grade), she followed me to the high school. Obviously this wasn't the school's fault, but that is a bad memory I have there.

This weekend I spent a morning with Pearson while taking a clinical exam for my license. At first I…read moredidn't know what to expect but this location did a great job of explaining the procedures as well as tips for parking in the area. The building was easy to find and the security guards in the lobby pointed us to the right location. The staff here was very polite and made the anxiety around test taking less intense. The woman who prepared everyone for their tests was extremely pleasant, professional and efficient. The test taking area was comfortable and when asking for restroom breaks, the staff was receptive and quick to support me. In the end, I passed my exam and am happy I chose to test at this location rather than others in the area. I have heard mixed reviews about other testing sites but this location was incredible!

We loved how supportive the counselors all were and are could tell how much everyone cared about the kids and their program. Outdoor classrooms, variety of activities, animals and environmental education, combination of facilitated and open play, great communication, gender neutral facilities and all gender supportive community, easy drop off and pick up, sliding scale enrollment fees based on ability and scholarships available. It's tough to register, though, as spaces are swooped up VERY quickly, and this year they capped families at two weeks for the summer.

This learning environment may be great for some kids, but it was a terrible fit for my niece's son…read more However, this is not the reason for my 1 star review. My grand nephew had been struggling with math during the pandemic virtual learning experience. I suggested to my niece that she find some supplemental learning help and offered to pay for it in order help her son get back on track. We decided to try this center, and set up automatic billing to my account. Within a few weeks, it was obvious that it was a poor fit, and she quit taking her son. We tried to let the center know that he was no longer coming, but it is virtually impossible to get through on the phone and the only way I was able stop the automatic payments, was by putting a stop payment order in with my bank. The policy at this center is that you must be paid up at least 2 months in advance and any unused tuition is unrefundable. Be warned, that when you quit, you will be paying for 2 months of unused instruction. I understood this policy, and agree that she has the legal right to continue charging me for the tuition in September and October, even though the child quit using her services in June. However, as a small business owner myself, there is a huge difference between what you can do and what you SHOULD do. I finally got a call back after leaving a message saying that I would like to discuss the situation before leaving a 1 star review. I was told that the mother of the child has to come in and fill out a cessation of service form in order to stop any billing. I tried to explain that I was not a parent, nor am I in MA (I live in CA), but the owner was unwilling to budge on her policy. To me, it felt like an extremely unreasonable money grab simply because she could. I understand the necessity of a business having set policies, but a smart owner will be flexible when the situation is appropriate. In my business, I have a 3 month cancelation policy where you can lose your 50% deposit, because I may not be able to sell my services on short notice, and have been turning other business away. Unoffically, if I am able to sell the date, I always return the deposit, because if I have not lost any business because of the cancellation, it is the right thing to do, and my customers appreciate this. The owner of this Kumon center, does not understand this philosophy.

They have a terrific exchange program so you can take classes at any of them. It's a small school, perhaps 500 per class. Many go abroad for Junior year. It has a diverse student body, both across the US and the world.
