I finally decided to make the stop around lunch time on a Tuesday and waited a little less than 10 minutes (the line moves quickly). I ordered a pain au chocolate and the pretzel gratinee. Together they were both around 5 euros which is pretty reasonable. They warmed up the pretzel which was nice. Unfortunately there was nothing special about either things to me that would make me want to go back. They were good, but nothing that stood out to make it exceptional. I've had numerous pain au chocolats and this tasted like the rest. The pretzel was good and soft, which I liked but the cheese was only in the middle and not much on the outside. I've had better tasting pretzels for sure. It was a decent place, but not as hyped up as it was made out to be.

Best baguette in Strasbourg, no contest. It is perhaps the most picturesque French bakery I've…read moreseen. Beats Paris. There, I said it, and I live in Paris! I have fond memories from both: 1) Waking at the crack of dawn to walk through the quiet city-center to this boulangerie for a baguette, fresh out of the rotating brick oven. 2) Staying out until 5am partying at the nearby Café des Anges or Le Living Room, and wandering over for a quick hangover prevention pastry.

They also have a back patio where you can sit. The front of the store is just glass cases of goodies. Right behind the register is a small area for seating but on a nice day the patio outside in back is great. Zen and modern is what I would call this area. They have regular food too that was pretty good too but it's mainly about the deserts. Enjoy!! :)

They HAD the best until two years ago then changed recipes/style of this tart. It's okay but nothing great like it used to be. The rest of the pastries/desserts are amazingly good but I rank patisseries by lemon tarts. Sorry Rebert. Bring back the original and you'll regain #1 status.
