Mary-Anne and Richard provide a selection of cereals, tea, ground coffee, jams, bacon, eggs and bread for breakfast. Fresh flowers in the room are a lovely touch. It's just a short drive from here into the CBD. This is a good option if you are staying in Ballarat on a budget and you have your own wheels!

It is only a short walk around the corner from Main Street making it nice and convenient. The owner is friendly and welcoming giving it a bed and breakfast feel. He was very accommodating and changed us to a bigger room without us even asking when he knew we had a travel cot. What we found especially appealing was the ability to book for just one night on the weekend - something many other options didn't provide. The king deluxe room we had was large, well equipped, clean and tidy which at the price range easily met our expectations.

In fact the checkin process did not require us to speak to anyone as we were able to retrieve the key following instructions that were given to us by the owners of the villa. Once we got inside the villa it had great self contained facilities (the kitchen was good for the tapas we had bought with us), an awesome deck and a really great looking bedroom. Some of the decor was a little dated, however it was all very comfortable and relaxing, so I couldnt really fault it. Highly recommend the Lakeside Villa if you are looking for a romantic getaway.

Located a stones-throw from the main street of Daylesford, this beautiful self-contained studio is a cosy home away from home - especially when we visited in the middle of winter. We certainly made use of the fire place! The owners of this studio are interior stylists and designers, and it shows in the styling of the apartment. Little touches like the hamper of local food and drink upon arrival, the expertly colour coordinated cushions and throw rug on the lounge. Subtle bursts of colour before walking upstairs to the loft bedroom which is a more subdued rustic feel. Open the french doors to the balcony off the bedroom for a 360-degree view of the area. It was truly something with the leaves changing colour. It was the perfect stop and switch off rest that we needed after a road trip along the Great Ocean Road. It's not cheap but for the feeling of isolation (despite being a 10min walk from the city proper) and style of the apartment, it was, for me, 100% worth it.
