They were very thorough and even power washed the roof and cleaned the ivy off of the chimney before they began prepping for paint on the exterior. I also appreciated how accommodating they were when I had a few extra add ons to the job and they took care of things without hesitation. Poor time management, was always hours later than expected and rarely worked for more than a couple hours in a day. Clearly did not know what he was doing and that should have been communicated from the beginning instead of attempting to do it regardless and wasting thousands of dollars. Fortunately the majority of the materials could be reused, but some had to be trashed entirely. Drywall repairs were poorly done. I sent Mario a long email detailing all of the issues we had. No response. If he runs his realty business as poorly as he does Fortitude you would be best to stay away from both businesses.

On top of that, the quality of their work is fantastic. Among other great things about their work, they did a beautiful job matching the existing wood molding in our home with the new construction they did on our bathroom. Price-wise, they were right in the middle of the road compared to the other estimates I received. Where things fell short for me was communication. I know contractor-client dynamics can be tricky, but as the project progressed, it became increasingly unclear what the actual timeline or next steps were. The project ran longer than the original estimate, and I was never given updated, reliable estimates for completion. (Part of this was due to scheduling inspectors which had nothing to do with Iron Castle, but even factoring in the inspection wait time, the project went beyond the initial estimate.) Toward the end, communication broke down and workers would show up on days without prior notice, even after I explicitly asked to be kept in the loop on scheduling. That was stressful because we had our work to take care of. Big picture: Iron Castle does high-quality, beautiful work, and they are good people. But while I love the finished product, the process of getting there was not what I would have expected.
