This is an arcade with a set price admission and everything is free once you get in. Goods $15 for unlimited play is a fraction of the cost of spare time or Dave and Busters. You don't need to reload cards. Kids can use any machine as quick as they can. Just using a few continues on arcade games alone gets there very quickly. They have a bunch of the good Star Wars arcade games that are slightly older yet still tons of fun. I love the 4 player X-men arcade game room along with all the marvel comics variants as four player games. That is awesome to play through and beat them all with friends. Needs improvement They desperately need better HVAC. Having teenage boys and gamer kids inevitably means fewer showers. It's noticeable as you walk in and hits you like a truck. While we have been here before and it didn't have an odor then, this is a hurdle you need to cross if not remedied immediately. A surprisingly low amount of pinball cabinets and of the ones they have, half of them work. A bunch of the seats have ripped edges, duct tape and broken plastic. Date of visit: January 24, 2026 What else is there to do on a ridiculously cold day in Madison before a show that evening besides hanging out at an arcade? For just $15, you can play as much as you'd like, with a wide variety of games from classics that are even older than me (if you can believe that) to things that are quite a bit newer. Games are mostly organized by type, so all of your racing games are together, shooters, etc., which is nice for the most part, but can make mounting and dismounting some of the racers a bit tricky or have you slightly closer to a stranger than you would prefer. Most games were in good repair, though a few were not so good, such as House of the Dead 4. Would have preferred a bit more in terms of snacks and beverages to allow me to stay longer and play a bit more, but I'll just prepare better next time! read more

I went again after not having been in two years, and I was really happy to see that there were more pinball tables that were new and all in great condition. I also played a bunch of games I didn't get to play last time and was really impressed with the variety. Sure, a few games had a couple hardware flaws still (1 of the 3 skee ball machines had a hole not register balls, monkey ball joystick was a bit buggy, and a shotgun for House of the Dead was a bit wonky), but overall, I think this arcade is excellent. Simple classics, like ski ball and air hockey, to retro classics like Super Mario and Street Fighter, to 2000s classics like Time Crisis. The folks who work here clearly care a lot about games and seem to be very knowledgeable. You're in good hands if you have questions. We had so much fun here! Our kids are 6 and 8 and loved being able to try any game they wanted. Us grown ups loved playing pinball and all the old classics like Ms. PAC-man, Paperboy and Off-road. There are pool tables, air hockey and skeeball too. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find they have a family discount. Basically instead of $15 each an adult and a kid can get in for $15. So our family of four played for $30 instead of the $60 we were expecting. And honestly as a treat for the kids (we're on vacation) we probably would've paid the $60 and still thought it was a good deal. I first found about this place on facebook. One of my friends posted about Geeks Mania on his feed and it caught my attention because its in Madison, WI. My friends and I are both from California and we probably wouldnt have known about this awesome place if it wasnt facebook! I asked my boyfriend if this place really exist and he told me that its true and that we can come here when I go see him. He told me that if you go an hour before they close, admission fee is only $5 per person and you can play anything in Geeks Mania. I saw TONS of arcade games likr Tekken, Super Mario Kart, Pac Man as well as some pool tables. Its nice that you dont have to worry about putting tokens or coins to play. Since your cover fee covers everything, all you have to do is find something you want to play and get on it. I dont know if I can stay here more than an hour but may be possible if you come with a big group of friends. An hour before closing was more than enough for me and the boyfriend. It was fun playing games with him and seeing a lot of old arcades games made me think of the good old times when I used to beg my brother to play Metal Slug on play station, haha. My youngest and I were looking for something to do on a cold day. The thought of "all the games I can play" was a hit, so we headed to Geeks Mania. Upon arriving, the guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and answered all my questions before I could ask them. We were banded up and ready to roll quickly. For me, the place was amazing. I love pinball - from the old tables to the newest ones. I'll play 'em all, especially if a $15 wristband lets me go crazy without digging up a bag of quarters! The arcade games, for me, were lacking. Sure there were a few nostalgic classics, but mostly titles I either never played in my youth, or never saw them. None the less - the unlimited play lets you try them all, so that's great. Our problem was that it was busy (Saturday afternoon - probably my fault). The room gets pretty hot with all those machines - throw in a bunch of people and it gets downright stuffy. My son didn't last too long - he's not a huge pinball fan and the arcade games were unimpressive (understandably so - today's Xbox is way better than yesterday's arcade games). We were going to hop on a pool table, but those were full and queued up pretty bad. We probably didn't get our money's worth, but I'm happy to give those guys a few of my dollars to keep the business going. I'll be back, for sure - too much pinball for me to pass up! After parking my car in the lot, I was a bit skeptical walking over because this didn't look like a place where anything fun would be located. I wasn't really expecting much from an arcade in a business park next to a AAA Insurance. I was absolutely wrong. Geeks Mania is awesome. We came on a Sunday night in the evening and got the benefit of the admission discount. Normally a wristband is $15 for unlimited play, but if you show up two hours before closing, the wristband is only $7.50. If you show up one hour before closing, the wristband is only $5. Two hours for $7.50 is a steal. The variety of games is impressive. There are a ton of arcade games and pinball machines, as well as Skee-Ball, DDR, air hockey, and pool tables. Simply going to a bar and playing a few games of pool would cost me more, let alone all the other things I was able to enjoy in the two hours. Well done Geeks Mania. read more

I've been going here since it opened and it's been steadily growing and expanding for years! What I appreciate most is that they have the largest selection of pinball tables I've seen in town or even nearby -- last I was in there I think I counted about 20. For comparison: The regional legend Galloping Ghost, for example, which boasts over 550 arcade machines has only 4 or 5. If you like pinball -- Geeks Mania is the place to be. The 80s / 90s classics are all accounted for and grouped well. They've got skeeball, air hockey, some basketball games -- at least the last time I was there late last year. They rotate their selection a fair amount and that's another reason to keep coming back. They have a few group games and a few unusual arcade titles I hadn't seen before but was glad I did. The owners are amiable and approachable -- not something that you always find in an arcade so it's worth calling out. If you are planning on a night out with your kids, your friends, or you just need a few hours to yourself the $15 door fee for adults and $5 for kids give you a lot of fun for your money. It's clean, the staff seem like fanatics that just has such pride in the place, and oh the choices of arcade games here! There's vintage and new; pinball, arcade games, air hockey, Skee ball, and DDR. I was told you could even rent the place out for $$$$ and bring your own booze for a party. They currently do not allow or sell alcohol on the premise. They don't have Wi-Fi yet but that's something they are working on. They have a cute collectors/gift shop when you first walk in. Majority of the toys are in Japanese, that's how authentic this place is. All of the memorabilia and products make me reminisce about living in Japan and going to all the bookstore bodegas where some of the same items were sold! Recently on a Sunday evening, they even had the Packers game on their projection screen. Oh, and you can play pool in the area where the projection screen is. Love it! Totally off the beaten path, and lots of off-street parking in the lot behind. You can order take-out and have it delivered, and all the best games are HERE! Except Dino Crisis. Please, please, PLEASE get Dino Crisis. It would just make my day. I love bringing my dates here so I can kick their asses at Tekken--makes me feel like a real lady. Bathroom is humble, but clean. Lots of space to socialize and eat when you've run out of quarters. A couple change machines will remedy that too. I'm a huge fan of the pinball room. The Walking Dead machine's my fav--it growls and shakes at you while you play. The only thing I can't stand is the glare of the string lights above the machines--they make a terrible glare while you're playing (which is super distracting/annoying). When I'm done whooping ass at Tekken, I like to get my ass beat at pinball, then redeem myself at the old-school air hockey table. Makes me feel like I'm 12 at the rec center all over again... It took a little detective work to find Geeks Mania, but I'm so glad we did. Located in an assuming building on Odana Road next to the DMV, you have to wind through the hallways to find it, but just keep going back and back and it'll be on your right. Currently there are no signs outside the building, but there are paper printouts with arrows directing you once you get inside. Geeks Mania has a little bit of everything - some comics, cards, shirts, and handmade soaps for sale, lots of large tables for gaming, comfy chairs in front of projectors for movies or video games, and my favorite part - lots of old arcade games. I'm not a big video game player, but I did grow up at the tail end of the arcade era so there are some machines that tug at a place in my heart. When I saw they had The Simpsons game I had to put in a quarter. I got a surprising amount of game play for my money, especially considering I am absolutely terrible and mostly just mashed the buttons until I got my desired effect. The owner and staff working were all super nice and had some choice 80s and 90s jams playing to really set the mood back in time. Almost all games are quarter plays with a couple that are fifty cents. There's a change machine on site if you forget to bring your quarters. With a few pinball machines and some spiffing up of the interior this could easily be a five-star experience. I'm excited to go back! read more

We visited Geeks Mania tonight for the first time on a suggestion from a fellow Yelper. (Thanks, Stacey!). My extended family came along, which included my sisters, teenagers, tweenagers, and even Grandma. The space is in the back of the building through a long well lit hallway. They have a number of old-school arcade games, two pinball machines, at least four to six very long tables and chairs for traditional card fantasy games and two large projection TVs for console type games. There's plenty of room for parents, friends, etc. to sit and chat while others play games and enjoy the offerings. The vast majority of the games are $.25 and are very nostalgic for a tail-end baby boomer like me. Pac-Man, Battle Zone, Centipede and Duck Hunt are all here and more. They say they add a number of additional games every day--Galaxian and Galaga are on the way! It's a clean, friendly and wholesome environment. One of the operators shared that they are really promoting a mellow and safe environment. They had music playing but with that and all of the game and customer noise, I did not feel overwhelmed by a cacophony of sound. That was nice. Even Grandma's delicate constitution (aka, "nerves") remained intact. It was a nice way to spend an hour and a pocket full of quarters. It was fun revisiting my youth and to watch the kids have fun with older technology from back in the day. "See," I told them. "You didn't die. Not every video game has to be connected to the Internet." Of course, some eye-rolling followed, but the old man's point was made. Chalk one up for the parents! They also have comic books, cool T-shirts and a number of other miscellaneous items for sale. Vending machines have drinks and snacks. They have been open for three weeks and are asking people to help spread the word. I'm looking forward to going back, seeing the additional games and a hopeful uptick in their business. My husband and I brought our 15 year old son and a couple of his buddies and we all had fun. I like the new price model. We ended up paying $35 today for the 5 of us and were there for just shy of 3 hours. I love the open play of the machines and not having to carry around a crap ton of quarters. If you've ever played video games in an arcade in the past, you should come here, for a specific reason. Because the machines don't take tokens; you've paid upfront. You don't have to keep digging around for more quarters as the "CONTINUE?" clock counts down. The result? You can beat a game without months of hardcore practice and insane skill. You can be a ham-and-egger like me and see advanced levels and beat games you never dreamed of as a kid. If you're not an expert, $15 for a whole day is a great deal. Because lack of skill means your games are very short in duration. If you played all day long at an arcade that takes tokens or credits, it would cost a hell of a lot more than $15. Chuck E Cheese, for example, cost us about $20 for an hour and a half. Nuckleheads in the Dells cost us about $40 for an hour. Rossi's in Monona, I don't know, the crowds bug us out pretty quickly. If you're a grown up and you bring a kid, it's still only $15 for a day. If you don't like being in a place where kids are running around? Don't go to an arcade. I can't believe people complain about this. It's like saying "I went to this football game, but it sucked! There were so many sports fans all over the place! What the hell?" read more
