********must read********…read more I selected Dr. Larrain to care for me and my unborn child in early 2016. I had a prior history of preterm labor and I asked Dr. Larrain during my initial appointment if he was a qualified and certified high-risk practitioner or maternal fetal medicine specialist. He advised me that he was indeed a high-risk specialist.(He is most defiantly not!) I began experiencing preterm labor contractions at 18 weeks. I was brushed off and labeled as "crazy" & a "troublemaker" during my office visits. I went into labor and delivery on two separate occasions for preterm labor. It was proven that I was having contractions every three minutes on both occasions and on the second visit to labor and delivery at 24weeks it was also discovered that I was dilated to 2 1/2 cm and had less than a centimeter of cervix remaining. I was experiencing bloody show and had lost my mucous plug. Dr. Larrain had me discharged without any effort to control my labor. The nurse at Florida Hospital Deland was absolutely shocked that I wasn't being placed on magnesium and transported to Florida Hospital Orlando. (They specialize in high risk pregnancys and have the only level 3 NICU in the area aside from Winnie) Ultimately that's where we ended up about 4 hours after I was discharged because my husband made the executive decision to take me there. A decision that ultimately saved both my daughter and I's life. My daughter was born at 25 weeks gestation. The maternal fetal medicine specialist, obstetrical team, and neonatologists were absolutely disgusted when they uncovered my lack of care From Dr. Larrain. ( Not just my story, they reviewed my medical records) My child spent seven long months in the neonatal intensive care unit at Florida Hospital for children and faces a lifetime of disabilities because of this man's cocky and apathetic approach to medicine. Please don't just take my word for it! There are plenty of outlets available that indicate his history of subpar care and abandonment of patients in times of crisis. There are many complaints with the Florida Board of medicine, he's been sued for medical malpractice multiple times with at least one judgment that is public record resulting in $250,000. (Which is the max on his malpractice insurance) There's A newspaper article published in the Orlando Sentinel that details his arrest for domestic battery while drunk and on call to deliver babies at both Florida Hospital Deland and Florida Hospital in Ormond Beach. Please! Do your research! You and your child's life depend on your due diligence!! I have no idea how this human being lives with himself. He is a disgrace to the medical community!
