Excellent service. Called a week in advance to set up an oil change. Arrived on time and they completed the oil change in a timely fashion. They also noticed that our battery was on its last legs so they installed a new one on the spot. The service was fast and the price was reasonable. And the level of communication and customer service is top-notch: Mike does a solid job explaining issues to customers and having empathy for time and cost concerns. First time using Gelormini. Needed NJ State Inspection, oil change, and new battery. Service and consideration for my time was excellent. All services were explained thoroughly. Pricing was competitive and reasonable. People were very friendly. When I wanted to avoid 3 1/2% charge for using credit card, it was suggested that I take the completed car, and return with a check later that day. He also offered to look over the estimate to be sure it was reasonable. All of this for no charge and no guarantee of future work. I got my state inspection done today. They charged me $75. I recently moved my driver license to the State and I checked Yelp for a good recommendation for auto shop. I found Gelormini Auto Repair shop here at New Providence. I called and Mike picked up. He told me there're hundreds of shops near me who can do the state inspection. That's not a typical feedback I usually hear. That's why I feel I found a good shop. I need to drive 15 miles to Gelormini. The word was done within half an hour. At the time I was there, the credit card machine was down and I didn't have cash with me. So I walked across street to ATM. That I felt a little frustrated. But I saw him trying to call and fix the machine problem when I came back, I felt satisfied. Above all, I recommend Gelormini. That's why I give them my 5-star rating. Mike at Gelormini was extremely helpful. I asked them to look at a used car I was thinking of buying. Mike's advice fit what I read online about buying used cars. They took it for a test drive and looked it over, and answered my questions. He was very helpful explaining what a mechanic can and can't tell about a car. He said the car didn't have any major problems, as we expected for a new-ish Corolla, although he said if it was repaired at a good body shop, they wouldn't be able to tell if it was in an accident. Also after they looked it over, he said there was no charge, which was very nice! When I went back to the dealer, I discovered there was an accident on the Carfax report, which I think had shown up during the weeks between when I had first looked at the Carfax and when I was about to buy the car. I called Mike back for advice and he explained the accident on the Carfax would make the car worth less, so I decided not to buy it. read more

I was recommended by my co-worker to bring my car to Gelormini's for an oil change because they have always been straight forward, honest, and caring about their customers. I had been using the local Sears Automotive for my basic oil changes and tire rotations without too many issues, but always felt like a number and not a customer, so thought this was a good change. I owned an older car (2002) and brought it in for an oil change and tire rotation. Within a half hour, Geno called me and had some bad news: my car was in no state to be driven at all. The brake lines were rotted, tires were cracking, the oil pan had a crack, and my frame was rotted in some pretty critical spots. I was devastated to hear that my car was in such horrible shape and that I needed a new car immediately. When I went to pick up my car, Geno was all too happy to show me pictures of everything that he spoke with me about just so that I could see the severity of the damages on my car. I had no idea that it had gotten so bad, and was so upset to know that in the past few times I had taken it to Sears they never once mentioned any issues to me. Geno told me that he could not sleep at night that night without telling me about this. It was so bad that one slam on the brakes would have caused the lines to blow and I would be without brakes! I was able to get a new car shortly after I found out how bad mine was. I feel terrible that my new car comes with basic maintenance as part of the lease package, because I would absolutely go back to Gelormini's in a heartbeat. But since I can't, I absolutely implore anyone reading this to give them a shot. They are fantastic, hard-working, honest people that deserve the opportunity to earn your business. read more

Mike, the owner, is very honest and courteous. He even suggested alternative and less costly solutions to work he could have made more money doing - he fully earned my trust that day. I've never had work and time to completion expectations be different. He also has great communication skills and always takes time to explain work and suggests approaches based on long term car ownership versus lease or short term ownership - "why spend the money if you don't intend to own a year from now."
