It then took several days to receive a reply. The person who responded, Asheesh Sharma, insisted that the order had been dispatched, but said it could "overshoot" or get lost. The company does not seem to track whether orders are actually delivered or not. No one answers their phone, either. This is a very dodgy company. They have taken my money and are now ignoring my emails. If this isn't a scam, then what is? AVOID

However, one day I was lured in here by an impressive display of quirky looking squashes and impressed to find that the interior of this shop was very quaint and wholesome. Jars line the shelves erratically and bundles of fresh vegetables are piled high. My bag of shopping was quite reasonably priced and I enjoyed everything I bought. However I have to say I didn't find the staff hugely helpful. When I asked if they stocked Tarmarind paste they looked at me as though I was speaking Latin. I was told that this ingredient didn't exist and assured my recipe must be wrong. It does exist- I've had it many times before but it was easier to just nod and leave than to continue listening to this patronising speech. So to round up my Mother Earth experience- good shop, good food, good prices, unhelpful and uninformed staff!

My personal favourite are the organic breads, they are delicious and I don't feel sluggish after eating it, even if I have a bit too much. The store even has a deli counter for ready made goods, all of which are organic. I love the pita sandwich with hummus and falafel, not only does it have red peppers and lettuce, its low in calories and high in taste. If you are trying to avoid the preservatives and extra junk found in a lot of foods you buy in the supermarket then this is the place for you. The food is fresh and just being in the store looking around, you can almost feel yourself getting healthier and your body thanking you for making such a wise choice.

I usually get a peach juice or a soya shake carton. Alternatives is a nice enough shop but a bit pricey. For instance I can get my peach juice for at least 20p less somewhere else. The good thing about Alternatives is that its local and if you are a practitioner of "alternative" medicine, they offer a promotion scheme and a room in the back of the shop to practice in.

I was going to describe it as a health food shop, but that gives the impression that it's one of the many typically small ones dotted about London, but this place is more like a super healthy supermarket. It has a fantastic range of organic fruit and veg, meat and chilled items, but what's most surprising is the quality of their frozen food. You'll never have to feel guilty about eating microwave meals again as the ones here such as 'Halibut and Sweet Potato' are delicious (they have see-through covers so you know exactly what you're getting) and they're nutritionally balanced too. Perfect for after yoga when I'm too relaxed to bother cooking. They also have a great range of organic beauty products including fantastically fruity smelling Jason shower gels. You can even take in your old Ecover containers to fill up to save on nasty throwaway plastic. The staff are always smiling and often come over to offer help, but not in an annoying way where you feel like they're only doing it because they have to. These guys really are interested in nutrition! This comes in helpful in the natural remedies area where they're happy to go through all the products until you feel assured that you can find what you're looking for when you don't really know yourself. It's very shopper friendly, showing that eating well and respecting the environment doesn't have to be a specialist or difficult way of life and I really admire such a great attitude.

Although I love Fresh & Wild, there's nothing wrong with seeking an alternative and As Nature Intended is a great alternative to small chains like Fresh & Wild. I love their selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and juices. I bought some fresh fruit and veg from this place before and you can really taste the difference - tasty, fresh and organic. Yum! There are all the usual things here too - organic snacks and meats as well as little brands you can't get in the big chain supermarkets. I'm all up for supporting stores like this, plus you know what you're getting is fresh and *really* organic without a marketing campaign or Jamie Oliver's big face branded all over the products!

I almost feel like the customers who shop here should be more polite as I saw some unpleasant interactions between the helpful staff and the customers take place - would it kill you to be more polite when turning down help?
