There is a large building where you can cook and eat under cover. There are fridges and sinks to wash up as well. Entertainment for kids (big & little) consist of organised craft & discos to swimming in the pools. We were able to spend a whole afternoon beside and in the pool. The pool slide looks as if it is a gentle enough experience but some were able to shoot out the end like a bullet. It is very deep at the slide end so little ones need to be caught in the water if they can't swim. It is also a short walk to the surf and a skate park.

This one had a spa bath tub. The beach house was immaculate and lovely furnished. This place had everything you needed to make a comfortable stay, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, bedding, detergent (although limited amount for clothing) and even a washer and dryer for clothing! I loved how the front doors were all accordion style window doors. It made it perfect to open the doors in the morning and in the evening. It does get a little cool at evening so we shut them after about 9 pm. The beds were very comfortable and each room had a fan/heater for when you needed it. The place looked pretty new. Our family had a barn dance at the barn and the staff were kind enough to let us in early to setup, as no one else was renting it. It's very close to town as well: there is a Woolworth's in town and some other good stores and restaurants. There is planty to do for families. The pool was nice and clean, though it got packed at certain times of the day. The bouncing pads were one of the kids favorites, as were the parks, go-karts, and electric bikes. It was a great stay and I would definitely stay again.

The restaurant (Manfredi at Bells) has fantastic food, though a limited menu if staying for more than one meal. Service at the restaurant is stunning, can't say enough good things about the wait staff - courteous, attentive and, most importantly, not in your way when you don't need them to be. Unfortunately, hotel staff are a different matter. Reception are a bit meh, and don't seem to care when you've got issues with your accommodation. They seem to have multiple systems for the estate because housekeeping can't seem to see when people have booked into other areas of the estate to see when a convenient time is to clean the room. Yes, I know it's pedantic, but it's a bloody expensive stay, so you expect amazing service. When your heating doesn't turn on and your air con is broken, and the reception doesn't seem to believe you and takes four hours to respond to your request, and then can't fix it themselves, it doesn't endear you to their service quality. When your toiletries are watered down, I'm the first one to cry "First world problems", but again, you're paying a lot of money for this level of service so you expect it to be top notch. So, lessons for Killcare - invest in another maintenance person in case one is busy - cross training is essential - I don't care if one is picking up a helicopter from the next estate, all I care is that I'm spending a bloody cold day in a five star resort with no heating. Another lesson - track your guests - invest in the software to see their whereabouts pop up on your restaurant reservation system so you don't leave messages on their phone when the place has no cell coverage. And finally - your reception is your front of house - it's the bastion of welcome, first and last. Make sure they are trained well and give them the tools to make their guests feel welcome, not make their guests feel like they are getting in your way.

Pokolbin Village - A Corker Amounst The Wineries…read more I have chosen Pokolbin Village for me and my family to stay at in The Hunter Valley Wine Country (only two hours from Sydney) during the first week of January 2017, that is a 'four star' rating and I can understand why they have an amazing rating. The place is nicely displayed with a range of specialty shops and restaurant for your convenience with lots of parking spaces available. There are easy-to-find signs especially when you're trying to locate 'Reception' so you can check-in, get your keys, unload your gear and start your holiday as-soon-as-possible. Once we entered the reception area, we were greeted by a friendly staff straight away that made us feel welcomed. The receptionist asked where I was parked and then directed me with easy instructions how to get to the our 'self-contained' villa accommodation and we noticed that on the key-ring to our villa, there were adverts on it stating that you can receive discounts for participating on-site shops and some outlets when shown. I drove the short distance to our room without a problem and found nearby parking - oh... by-the-way, the specialty shops are not too far from the room we were staying at, just a short stroll. . When we entered our room, the air-conditioner was already on that gave us an instant relief from the heat we were experiencing - 39 degrees Celsius (102.2 Farenheit). The facilities were conveniently located near the rooms - swimming pool, BBQ facilities, tennis court and boules court and on top of that, free wifi. We made great use of the swimming pool and BBQ facilities with nearby table and seats so you can enjoy your meal outdoors with the natural, non-pollutant country air. Pokolbin Village is only minutes away from all major attractions and event locations. It is the ideal place for couples, families or groups who are looking for a place with natural charms and beauty for a 'time-out' of your everyday hustle and bustle lifestyle.
