My $23 meal. No, I hadn't touched it yet. This was their pitiful serving.

Extremely busy hotel. Very busy car/beach parking but plenty of spaces. Can get narrow in sections so drive slowly. My partner and I ordered before finding a seat as the queue was getting ridiculous. Definitely need more staff/tills to serve for food rather than drinks. We found a seat easily at a high table inside. We still had an ocean view and the door to outside was open offering a cool breeze. When ordering my burger I said with chips. Was told that they come with chips. Couldn't help correcting the lady that the menu says 'with chips or salad' so was telling her which I wanted. She still picked up the menu in front of me to check the wording. Learn what your menu says people! My lamb burger with chips was $23 and I almost asked "Is this it?" when it was given to me. Looked like the waitress got lost finding our table and decided to steal a few chips. Very disappointed with my meal. Small for the price. A large slider I'd call it, not a burger; and the chips would serve a child not an adult. Not worth the money or contending with the crowd.

Great atmosphere and views. The food is always fresh and delicious. The beetroot salad with goats cheese is awesome and so are the arancini balls. The three star rating is for the unfriendly bar staff and annoying magpies that come in and jump on the tables. Oh and one other matter that needs addressing.. CLEAN THE WINDOWS. The views are awesome but hard to see through the dirty windows.

Family junk plate we couldn't eat.

We really liked the chilled ambiance and the friendly staff. But a fine restaurant isn't only about good ambiance and fun staff. Before sounding like an old grandpa complaining, here are some reasons why your experience in the lake house might be different to ours: -Maybe the chef wasn't in a good mood that day. It was, after all, a gloomy rainy day. -Or maybe our expectations were too high after reading all the reviews here. -Or maybe because we came in a big-ish group (13 in total, an unlucky number too, some may believe). But the famous lake house didn't live up to my expectations for the following reasons: 1. The food simply took too long to arrive. We ordered by 1pm and food didn't arrive til almost an hour later. Granted that we weren't a small group, but the restaurant was half empty and it wasn't well communicated that it would take that long to cook. 2. The flavour was quite bland for most dishes. It was as if the pasta was left to boil for too long, and there wasn't enough salt to season the burgers. The dishes came out with inconsistent quality. Some dishes, like the fish and chips and chicken, were quite good; while others didn't live up to the premium price they charged. Hopefully your experience will be on par with the previous positive reviews.. I think we were just unlucky. Maybe the trick is to do the opposite of what we've done: go in a small group less than 13, have low expectations, and bribe the chef with some lollies. Good luck.

This is my first time writing a review because I had lots I wanted to say about this place…read more I came here for my Year 4 school camp. This camp (?) was amazing. First of all, the beds were actual beds, with comfortable matresses and soft cusions. In my Cabin, I had 6 or 7 other friends. WE HAD 2 BATHROOMS!!!! This also included the modernised shower, along with a hanger and tiled walls. We also had cabinets to store stuff (although we didn't use it). Food was awesome. Although I only went there for 2 days and 1 night, the food was incredible. At the time of my visit, There was a condiments buffet. We even traded sauces and salts with eachother - like a market (we got in trouble though). Dinner was chicken with mushroom sauce. The centre also consisted of a "special diet meal" where my best friend had. He claimed it was suitable. There was also a breakfast self serve BTW. There was a disco night on the eve of camp, it was average. The collaroy centre is dotted on a nice hill on its back. There we glanced at animals. When we were about an hour before leaving, we played soccer that they provided, as well as other games. However, the activities were the highlight. This may be subjective, but it consisted of my favourate activities - Archery and Laser tag. The instructors were also humourous. Other activities (Giant swing, Balancing challenge, Treasure hunt) were ok. The only thing I was slightly dissatisfied about was the long walks (I am a lazy person). I had to crawl ~1km uphill to the giant swing. Our cabins were also slightly far from our drop off. Overall, A very nice camp compared to others. I was shocked to see its bedding and food alike. Activities were entertaining. Only docked a star because of long walks.

Came here to help out with a camp group that I signed up for…read more This place was pretty easy to find as it was just straight up on Homestead Avenue. Drove towards the top and parked the car near to where the reception was. When I asked the staff about where the group I was supposed to be in, she quickly guided me and told me about the three groups which were there and the respective locations. Whoops.. I heard deaf as death. And yup, luckily I didn't enter the wrong group. Decided to go to the chapel and the cabins to look for familiar faces. Unfortunately wasn't easy to find as there are five different cabin locations. Decided to send a text to the person in-charge and finally I found them. Joined the group for both lunch and dinner. The dining area was pretty big overviewing the Pacific ocean. The weather was pretty great while I was there and so the slow motion waves were visible. Even saw a golf course before the ocean. Food wise, could say it was pretty good. Lunch, we had chicken cutlet with burrito wraps and cheese as well as salad on the side. Dinner, we had beef slices with yellow noodle and some paprika on the side as well as chocolate cupcake on the side. Didn't join in for tea break and supper which might have good variety of foods too. After lunch, just outside the cafeteria we spotted some birds. Managed to get close shots of those birds eating bread crumbs or apple. The families who were with us enjoyed interacting with the birds. The chapel has a big conference room with plenty of chairs and tables on the side. It has a small podium with microphone as well. You could see the sea view from the chapel - conference room as well. Overall, I think it is a nice getaway area for varieties of events. It is also near to a mall with bowling or laser tag area as well as close by beaches around the area. Before coming here, there are two petrol/gas stations nearby on the main road. :)

Visited Rafferty's Lake Macquarie for a relaxing family get away. We purchased a Groupon voucher…read moreso got a reasonable price. Our room was a little dated but clean. We were quite disappointed with many un-functioning items in the unit. The heater wasn't working, power points weren't working, lack of blankets, lack of toilet paper, lack of dish washing soap, door handles were falling off and the garage door didn't open. The grounds itself were stunning. Some pools were heated and the lake was serene. One downfall we discovered, if wanting to go out at night there is zero transport no courtesy buses, no taxis and no uber are available. We didn't know this prior to booking all up an enjoyable stay however the units need updating and quality checks should be administered.

It is located around many activities that were quite enjoyable as well. The resort had easy accessible water activity's which were all fun for cheaper prices. There is always a stunning sunset over the water each day which I think makes the resort how it is. The interior in the room was quite nice and comfortable. However there was some concerning aspect to it that rated my review lower. The park was calm and felt peaceful but this was also because of the lack of people in it there are so many places to stay and in school hoildays most would be packed out and full of kids. However this wasn't the case which made it quite a lonesome place the pool and almost weird. Before i wrote this review I read other ones about the EXACT room we are staying in with the people before us. They had the exact same pest problem covered in German cockroaches it's quite disgusting they poo everywhere and have ruined most of our food. Some where next to my mum when she woke up it was gross. They seem to use the excuse of being in the bush for the reason of it but in hotels in the middle of the bush there have been none. THIS IS A PEST PROBLEM GERMANS COCKROACHES ARENT NATIVE. The sofa bed that we pulled out for a visiting guest was covered in dirt old springs old food crumps and an old coverd in hair brush. the main attraction the jet buzz ride was unavailable whole 7 days we were here. Overall it was nice calming but they need to manage the pest problem and clean better !!
