Yes, stay here. The price is right for the accommodation you're getting, and the staff is great. I've read some pretty concerning reviews before coming here and thought the worst but was glad to find out that it was a decent hostel in an unassuming neighborhood, with reasonable amenities, and everything you need in shouting distance. The Generator is located in a neighborhood in the 10th that I'd not had the pleasure of going to in my 10 years visiting France, but once I'd gotten used to it- it was a nice calm little place. The neighborhood surrounding the Generator heading into the 19th though - isn't safe for young or new travelers. Hoards of homeless people are littered under the bridge, and it can be a pretty chaotic neighborhood. The people themselves are pleasant enough, just stay to yourself. The drinks were heavy, the bar downstairs was nice and lively. The shower rooms, toilets, and beds were what you can expect from a constantly rotating line of people. It's not top notch, it's not bottom rung. The cleaning staff was in daily, maintenance came directly both times I requested (for the shower, and a clogged toilet). The maintenance crew for the toilet came a total of 4 times. I stayed in a room of 8, Most of the ladies were great, but some need reminders when checking in about how to be kind in a large hostel room. Some came in at 2a when I needed to rise at 5a and made a tremendous amount of noise. Be mindful when booking, or reviewing that you're staying in a hostel with an AMAZING amount of turn over, they may need more staff, but what they do have is keeping up quite well. read more

I stayed at this hostel for the first time in October 2025. They gave me a nice, clean room with a large bathroom. So I decided to choose this place for my next trip to Paris in December. And it was just awful! First, they gave me a room with broken windows that didn't open at all. There were more than 10 people in the room, and there was absolutely no way to ventilate the room. At reception, they simply rudely told me that these were safety regulations. I asked to change rooms five times because each one was dirty and messy, each room had only one toilet and shower for over 10 persons in a room. In a completely empty room, they refused to give me a lower bed, even though all the beds were available. The beds were messy when I checked in, to which I was told they would be made up when I get back in the evening. And of course, when I returned tired late evening it was same. I had to constantly go up and down to the 8th floor to resolve yet another problem. The cafe on the ground floor is a separate issue. The staff is extremely rude, as are the receptionists. I ordered mulled wine every evening. On my last night at the hostel, the barman poured me half a glass of mulled wine the last bit of drink they had left, saying it was their norm and refusing to give me a refund for the poor quality. There was no wine in the mulled wine at all, just cloying juice. I paid for a whole week's stay in advance, and this place completely ruined my vacation and my impressions of the city and its people! I will never go back there again, and I hope all these rude and ill-mannered people get fired! read more

The cleaners stole my charger and earplugs, I know this because everyone in my hostel checked out that day before I left, so I was the only one left, and when I came back, the only people that came were the cleaners. They had no reason to move or even touch my things because it was not disrupting the location of where they cleaned. I went to the front desk to ask if they have it at lost and found, and she looked and said no, but that she would leave a note for them. I then had trouble sleeping that night because someone new was snoring, so I went down at 3am, and asked again if they had found anything. These were two males, both fluent in spanish, and were laughing at me, told me im unhygienic for leaving my earplugs by my bed, and were scoffing at me because I didn't know the exact technical name of the black charger they stole. They were mocking me saying "was it the charger of your earplugs? what charger is it?" and laughing. I was literally talking to them in a calm voice and polite, but they were acting as if I was doing them a disservice for trying to find my stuff that si now gone. All they told me was to buy earplugs at the vending machine which are 5 euros or so which is so much for disposable earplugs. They also told me my earplugs I had were probably disposable so that's why the maid got rid of them... who is to tell me what is trash and is not, and mind you, I just bought them, so not they're not trash. These two men were awfully rude and didn't even have compassion for my stolen stuff. I wish I knew their names They don't give out any towels or anything to wash yourself, and it's just madly overpriced. There's little high schoolers running around and crowding the area and screaming, but I will say the bartenders were kind. read more

My stay here left me feeling unsafe and violated. My partner and I shared a private room for 2 weeks as part of a study abroad program. Pros - close to some major train and bus lines. Pharmacy and convenience stores located nearby. Pros end there. Cons - The first room I was given had broken window insulation, constantly letting in cold January air. Told the front desk, who sent a guard upstairs to check it out. He told me it was fine and I had to show him exactly where the rubber insulation lining was peeling away from the window frame. Was told to wait for maintenance, was not given a time frame. Updated my program director, who got us a new room in 5 minutes flat. Moved all our stuff to the new room with a window that shut fully, but still had broken heating. I developed hypothermia as a result of prolonged exposure to the cold, while inside. Absolutely ridiculous stuff. Quite literally, I had to catch hypothermia and tell the staff I was calling myself a doctor for them to finally get maintenance involved. Maintenance fixed the problem in under 10 minutes. The shower in this second room was covered in black mold. The vents and grout were disgusting, to the point I originally thought someone had had a mishap while dyeing their hair. Nope, mold. The staff and managers are very aware of this - I have read reviews on google dating back several years of other customers pointing out the black mold in the showers, and the owner or staff will reply and say that "housekeeping tries their best." It's not housekeeping's job anymore - this hostel needs to hire a specialist. It's disgusting. I will not allow them to direct the blame to their cleaning crew, who are all doing their best. The owner/managers need to accept responsibility for creating a disgusting, unsafe environment. I asked other members of my program the mold status of their bathrooms and at least 2 of the other 9 rooms had the same problem. The locks do nothing. I was alone in the room and had my door locked (they are also keycard protected.) A man knocked on the door three times; I did not respond. He let himself into the room anyways. Cleaning crew will also just let themselves into your room, so pray that you're not butt naked during those times. I felt like I had zero privacy. The food is expensive and disgusting. You cannot bring outside food into your room or the cafe, so if you haven't budgeted to go out to eat every night, then pick somewhere else. Their website proudly states that their staff speak both French and English, but this is only the front desk folks. The maintenance and cleaning crew did not understand anything I said, which would've been fine if I hadn't been dealing with unexpected intrusions and black mold in my shower. I wish I could've better expressed these concerns to them, or had them taken more seriously. Reiterating though - this is the owner's fault. I don't place any blame on the overworked staff who are doing what up above has told them to do. I understand it's a hostel, not a hotel, and that the services offered differ greatly. I don't expect a stay at the Ritz or even a dingy motel, but I do expect to not get so sick I have to see a doctor or hold my breath the whole time I'm showering. Spare yourself and find a party hostel that respects your health. read more

Writing my first review in ages because my experience here was so terrible. Early on my second day my stay was ruined when a pipe burst and half of my floor was flooded. It took close to an hour for it to stop. Water was coming under the door of our room when it finally stopped. Power was shut down. It felt like being in a post apocalyptic movie. Also. No employee came around to let people know this was happening. It was still early enough where people in my room were sleeping and I had to wake them up. Who on Earth would want to stay somewhere after that? I still had two nights left and asked an employee about a refund. She said they had been told from up above not to give refunds. I asked her if she would want to stay if she were in my shoes. She said of course not and gave me the email for the general manager Cedric Decaudin. I emailed Cedric and asked about a refund. His response was that the pipe burst was beyond their control and they weren't giving refunds. He also said that the leak had been stopped and acted like everything was fine. The last time I was there, roughly 7-8 hours after the flood, the power on the first floor was still out and there was still water all over the place. The reception desk was vacant and they were using the bar to check people in. You know, the bar I paid to be able to use as part of my fee, was closed because of the flood. Not exactly back to normal now, Cedric. Is it? I don't care if the pipe burst by accident, if it was from gnomes or if Cedric Decaudin went in there himself and smashed it with a wrench. When something like this happens, the business is responsible no matter what caused it. I have said this much to Cedric and like the coward he is, he has not responded. You would have to be a fool to waste your money on this place. They do not care about your satisfaction, they just want your money and as far as they're concerned you can piss off. This was my first time at a hostel, and LET ME TELL YOU, SHIT WAS LIT. I spent a total of 5 days in Paris. 3 days at a hotel, and 2 at this hostel and I wish I had actually spent all 5 days here. Generator was clean, modern, central to everything I wanted to see, and overall just a great experience. I stayed in a 6 bedroom mixed dorm and met a guy from Mumbai, a boy from Paris, a girl from Australia and we all became the best of friends within hours of meeting each other. The wifi is great here, rooftop bar is pretty but spendy, the rooms were super clean, beds were comfy, shower was perfect and welp, I have no complaints. Do stay here. Au revoir, Paris. read more

I paid €96 a night to get breakfast and a bed. And that's exactly what I got. The breakfastwasn't great and the line was huge and it never opened on time. Most days 10 minutes late. It was hard since the museums would open between 8-9am and breakfast didn't open between 7:15 and 8:30 on most days. The section wasn't huge. It says on yelp they have a vegan selection. For breakfast, that's a big NO. Unless you consider orange juice, cucumbers and tomatoes breakfast. The bed was warm and the AC hardly worked. The big issue was the MOLD! The bathroom ceiling was nasty. The shower temperature was never steady and would be ice cold 95% of the time and then flare up to scalding hot 5% of the time. No matter where you had the dial on. The local grocery store was amazing as it had cheap wine and cheese which you could take to the local canal and watch the sunset. One of the girls in my room, her locker was locked with another's lock, and we asked the front desk at 2pm for help opening it as no one in the room said it was theirs. And they told us to come back around midnight / 1am to get the janitors to open it. They were working 12 hour days and didn't want to be up until then. Very annoying. Other than that, you're paying for a bed in a shared room. Other guests would get in late, bang stuff around so just know what you're in for. Also don't forget shower sandals. Also the WiFi was great, it could easily download videos! Good luck! The crowd was mixed from 14-15 year old kids to 60 year old men. It was quite interesting. Also the location is mixed. Outside there are drunk homeless who will yell at you. But it is 2 minutes from the metro. Which is about 15-30 minutes from any attraction you want. I recommend getting the metro pass. It's about $10 per days but saves so much time and energy. The day I didn't have it I walked 19 miles or 30.4 km. With it, I was only doing about half of that. read more

Enjoyed my stay in the mixed female dorm. We had bathrooms(showers) and lockers in our rooms. They had a club and bar downstairs, where the staff was friendly. Not as friendly in the reception. They had wifi and you could borrow a towel. We felt very safe here because they had a doorman. I'm going to visit this hostel again! read more

Generator Hostel was so much better than the other hotels I've stayed in, which is a big compliment considering it's not even a hotel. I have to be very honest though that I stayed in one of their private rooms so i didn't get the hostel experience of sharing a room with complete strangers, as well as sharing a bathroom. I stayed in their penthouse room, with a private bathroom and impressively, its own private terrace overlooking the neighborhood. It was the same price as a regular New York hotel room but so much more beautiful. That penthouse room was gorgeous in design and the same can be said for the whole hostel, everything is just so hip and gorgeous. The best part of my room is the electrical outlet near my bed's mini foldable 'table.' I was able to recharge my iPhone while resting on my bed. The bathroom was also gorgeous. Just a word of advice, you might forget that Generator is still a hostel so do note that you are only given one free body wash and the rest after that, you need to buy. And also, you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Another thing you need to remember is that food and drinks are not allowed inside the room. As their room rates are lower than other hotels, they probably do it to keep cleaning costs low. You can always eat something at their cafeteria, which also has wifi and whose food and drinks are reasonably priced. It was a little expensive (only a little) only because the dollar is lower than the euro. As for other memorable things, they have a laundry room and a gorgeous 'work' or chill lounge with plenty of electrical outlets. This is becoming a trend now in hostels and even hotels, they dedicate spacious lounge areas that act as living rooms for all their guests. Another notable thing is their frequently roving security personnel just to make sure everyone is a guest of the hotel and everything is in order, which made me feel more comfortable. The staff is super friendly and I only know maybe 10 French words and it wasn't a problem as they spoke perfect English. What I especially like about Generator (which seems to be common in their other international locations) is their dedicated 'tourist help desk.' Being a first timer in Paris who only had three nights to tour around, the tourist desk was more than helpful to teach me which subway to take and which areas to see. The cafeteria staff also were super friendly and helpful in giving advice on what to do and where to go. Some online reviews say that this hostel is not central enough for touring around. I kinda disagree, while it's not in the center of Paris per se, the subway station is a street away so that's such a huge help. I am a New Yorker and I appreciate how much of a big deal a nearby subway stop is. Overall, staying at Generator Hostel was the best decision I made in Paris. It's better than most hotels I've stayed in New York of the same price range. And, because of the super friendly and efficient staff, in three days, not only did I fall in love with the Generator brand but with the city of Paris as well. 2 tips: 1) while the hostel is near a subway stop, if it's your first time visiting Paris, when your flight arrives, just spend for a taxi to get to the hostel. Don't subject yourself to additional stress after being tired from a long flight. If you don't speak French, the subway might be hard for a first timer. 2) the hostel also works with a shuttle bus service to bring you back to the airport upon checkout. I was trying to reserve a quad room with the online offer for 4 nights. I could not see the offer because the starting date of my stay was a day before the offer starts. I called. They told me to just book it at the original price and they will change it for me later. So I booked and they told me my reservation is "NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-MODIFIABLE". I literally lost over $200. No one tried to help. The location is good and bad. It's not close to anything famous in Paris but it is right next to a metro stop. However, it is also next to a street full of homeless people and tents. It looked like a war zone if you make a wrong turn like we did while walking back to the hostel. The staff was not helpful in any way. We asked for a couple simple things such as not changing our room during our stay. We stayed for 4 nights in the same room. On the last night, they asked us to change room and we can't check into that room until 2pm the day of. It was ridiculous. No one cared how we feel. The security guard and receptionists were all very sexist. I (male) asked for the same things my friend (female) asked for. They denied me and gave whatever she asked for. The security guard also did not let me into the hostel. I entered the building a minute before my friend (female). Once she walked in, he let both of us in. I've never felt so discriminated. Other tips: DO NOT try to check in before 2pm. They will make you wait. We wasted 7 hours waiting for the room. The luggage lockers will also charge you a lot of money for a very small space that your normal carry on luggage will not fit. Towels and locks will both cost you money. read more

So far so good! I'm currently staying at the Generator hostel, and this happens to be my very first experience overseas and at a hostel! Finding the place wasn't a hassle given the huge sign, checkin was very simple. I booked a 10bed mixed room, so far there is only 4 of us, which is awesome. No one in my dorm speaks the same language but the ladies were super nice and considerate! I have one oof the top bunks with an outlet and I packed my own towel, but they do provide one. Sheets were clean, I love the lock ups were given, bring your own lock FYI. Overall, I got some good rest in a safe place for cheap! read more

Best hostel I have ever been to. Closest thing you can get to a hotel without the obscene prices! Downstairs area is absolutely beautiful with a bar, restaurant, and eating area. Didn't get a chance to explore the rooftop bar, but heard great things about it. The "chill out" space is a great area to relax; with a foosball table, comfortable couches, computers, and vending machine. Rooms were very clean and had amenities that were perfect. USB chargers in the wall and outlets EVERYWHERE made charging devices easy. Beds were incredibly comfortable and warm. Lockers under the bed were easy and convenient. Knew all my things were safe there. Will definitely be booking generator in other cities that I visit! read more

I stayed here 3 years ago and I absolutely loved this place. It was very clean. My room was a bit tiny and I kept smacking my head on the light above my bed quite a few times, but the food was great and the atmosphere at the restaurant downstairs was great also. It was pouring down rain one evening and I was starting to get sick so I just stayed here and drank champagne and ate Escargot. It is one of the nicer looking and clean hostels that I stayed in yet I think it's too much of a chaos going on here, the service with anything is just so slow and tangled. The room is clean and even though it's a ten people room it doesn't feel packed. I was staying at the generator Rome a couple of days ago and for the exact same breakfast they ask you to pay much more here which I don't really understand why. It could be nice if the staff was a bit more treating people as people and not boss around but it is what it is... place is really cool yet very much based on only money and not really caring about customer happiness at all. Still for the location and good building it is bearable for a couple of days. Definitely worse than Generator in Rome. read more

Shout out to the staff members that made our trip an amazing experience. The bartenders Cece, Alexie, Paula, Claire, Helena, and Georgia were all very accommodating and helped us with all of our needs from recommending where we should visit to teaching us some French language. And at the front desk, James and Victoria were also very helpful with our stay, making sure we felt welcomed and comfortable for our entire stay. I highly recommend staying here as it is very close to many attractions around Paris, the cafe has great food, and it is for sure a great hostel to mingle and meet new people from all places of the world. I would say that the people staying here are more of a young crowd ranging from age 18-30 so if your looking for that kind of environment this is definitely a place you'd want to stay. Also has a downstairs nightclub that plays great music and has a bar. And my favorite part is the rooftop terrace that has a great view of the Sacré-Cœur on the 9th floor. This is a must book in my opinion read more

Lots to say. First off will start off with that it's marginally better than the London Generator, rooms were less prison like, and bathrooms and showers were at least in your room, as well as the set up downstairs was decently laid out with the open air patio and then bar. That's about where the good comments end. First of all the key cards don't work more than a few hours and the front desk runs out regularly. Over a 2 night stay I needed to get 5 separate key cards as they just wouldn't let me in the room. When I arrived there was a cup in the hallway that when I left was still there meaning that the halls and rooms weren't cleaned at all in minimum two days. If you like a comfortable bed not the place to go, you could feel the springs pushing into your back and arm and woke up sore and unrested. A buddy got locked in the shower because the door lock broke and when I told the front desk all she said was "well we can't go in the guys restroom so you just have to figure it out" and wouldn't give me a key so I had to use a piece of metal to literally pick the lock to let him out since the staff couldn't be bothered. €10.50 for a pint of beer is highway robbery and not allowing outside food or drink makes it even less inviting to go to the bar. Black mold in shower is never good as well as it was clear the bathrooms in the rooms weren't cleaned in a while. Rooms don't have a place to dry your hands so have fun wiping them on your shirt, and the bathroom down the hall has a hole cut in it to exposed pipes. End of the day it was only €60 a night but if I ever come back to Paris I'd spend the extra €40 and stay in a nicer place. Paid an extra 50 for bike rentals and when I showed up in the morning they said they gave them all away but luckily after I grabbed breakfast they had one available, but if they didn't have them then I was told that it was my fault for not renting the bikes earlier and they wouldn't refund me. Giving this place 3 stars is VERY generous, but end of the day I did get a bed (not a good one), and I did have access to a bathroom (not a clean one), but I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Other than the fact that we got paired up with three snoring wildebeests, the Generator in Paris was pretty damn awesome. It's like the W of hostels. Clean, trendy, hip, and with a happening bar in the evenings. It IS a hostel so of course your experience may depend on who you're bunking up with, but if you get some cool roommates or spring for a suite of your own I can almost guarantee you're gonna love it there. There's a ping pong table, storage lockers for a late next-day check out, and most of the bathrooms are inside the suites unlike other hostels I've stayed at. If you don't want to spring for a pricey Paris hotel room or just want to meet some other eager travelers get yourself to the Generator. Just request a room without wildebeests. read more

Reservations that are cancelled at least 24 hours prior to arrival are not charged for" so why is Paris still charging me? I've never heard of such behavior by a hostel EVER. literally unheard of not to be able to cancel a reservation this far in advance. I first emailed about 1.5 weeks before the date of arrival. Paris location has some shady business practices. I feel unfortunate to complain now with what Paris is going through, but I'm not going to sit by and let a business throw away their policy because of it. That's ridiculous. DO NOT stay here if there is any chance of your plans changing. They don't listen to their policy and they will not refund you. Disgraceful. read more

I an extremely unsatisfied with my stay at this hostel. Neither bed me or my friend stayed in had sheets, the bathroom did not have toilet paper for days, the showers had black mold, and the staff told me incorrect information about the lockers and then made me go to an ATM to get euros to convert to 36 euro coins to feed into the locker in the middle of the night (but also made me wait while they continually checked in large groups making me and my friends sit around waiting for over an hour to even help) which feels extremely petty when after all I went through they could have just waived the locker fee and unlocked it for me. Throw in one toilet and shower for a whole floor and a 6 euro fee for a towel and you hit rock bottoms of hostiles. I am beyond displeased and disappointed at this hostel as the other three I have stayed in in Paris were so much better. I recommend Les Piaules or St Christopher's (the later was my favorite). read more

Not the greatest.. We stayed in a two twin bed room, which had all the features of a regular hotel. I'll tell you though.. the beds: AWFUL. Seriously so uncomfortable, and you only get one pillow, one towel per person. There are no drawers, there's a rack to hang your clothes on, but that's about it. I lived out of my suitcase for this part of my trip. The walls are thin which sucks because there tend to be a lot of young school trips that stay here. I will say that the food was pretty good, especially for the price. Not that you really want to go to a foreign country and eat hotel food, but the breakfast had basic cereal, coffee/tea/juices, croissants, breads, meats, hard boiled egg, and a basic fruit salad. It wasn't extensive but it was fine. I also happened to get a half chicken with mashed potatoes that was pretty good. Very juicy, good flavors. I believe it was only 8 euro. The common room is nice, although again don't expect to be comfortable. The seating everywhere is super weird and modern, which unfortunately makes it good for only temporary sitting. Great hostel, right across from the M2 metro stop, the staff are super friendly, especially Hugo and Driss, the beds are very comfy, the rooms are immaculately clean, and the wifi is fast and free! Plus there is a USB and power connector with light in each bed, and large lockers for each person underneath. There is also a luggage room, equipped with lockers and cameras for your piece of mind. I love his place! The museum pass is okay, but so many people buy it that you still have to wait in line everywhere. Blah. The restaurant here is not worth it. The middle eastern guy in the glasses is really rude. The cleaner kept whacking my feet with the mop while I was trying to eat. I ate there three times and had three disappointing meals. The cheese omelette was a big block of egg with no cheese. I would eat elsewhere. This is the only reason this isn't a five star review. A bit more expensive then other hostels in Paris, but worth every penny! I will definitely stay here next time I come to Paris! :) read more

Very nice hostel. Perfect if you don't mind sleeping in the same room with strangers, and I don't. I'm a middle aged American woman and felt totally comfortable in the dorms. Everyone was nice, the place is clean and the Metro is practically just outside the door. My visit was for 8 days, and I stayed in the female dorm. I felt very safe since you must show your key before entering the hostel, and also to access the corridors where the rooms are. They have a nice cafe with friendly servers. The breakfast was fine- baguette, cheese, hardboiled eggs, coffee, orange juice. If I were to stay again I would have declined the continental breakfast, however-- there is an amazing boulangerie not far away, and cafes nearby to get coffee. There is a bar in the basement that plays music after about 21:00. Good or not good depending on your sensibilities. A Long Island Iced Tea was about $10. My only small issue with the place was that you couldn't bring outside food and drink in. Too bad, since there is a grocery store and a convenience store very close by. I would stay here again for the low cost, the cleanliness, the cafe, and the convenience to the Metro. read more

One word... actually a name: SARAH!!! so helpful! so sweet! so cool! She made my 2-day stay here absolutely great. My room was up on the 8th floor, and had a very nice view of the garden & skyline. This was an 8-woman room -- I know it can be a gamble, because the 2nd night was a little rough, but roomies for the most part were great. Security guys were great too! They really did double duty when what appeared to be the concierge desk was empty -- I suspect she was busy checking folks in too. Glad they're keeping busy. Busy is good, especially if you can keep the chaos at bay. My only drawback would have been the lack of fresh fruits in the on-site resto. There was a bowl of some fresh deliciousness that caught my eye at first, but alas alak, they were but plastic fruit.... :O foiled! ha! Also, I sensed some discord and 'over it' attitudes there. Then again, I didn't really eat there much, perhaps it was just bad timing in my observations of the service-- luckily a FanPrix is literally across the street, as are other little shops & bars in the neighborhood, so I got my mangoes & such ;D [including VOLVIC] haha! I love that it's so close to Colonel Fabien metro stop too... nice starting point to mastering the Paris Metro system... oh I'll do it! I really loved my little bed too! Not worth. Or room was not ready when we arrived. The lockers for you to leave luggage is very cramped. Or floor smelled old and dirty. The room was dirty and dusty when we checked in and multiple employees kept walking into our room. Go somewhere else. read more

Not bad for a hostel, the room was very spacious. We got a private double room with bathroom. I liked the room, I wish there was a TV though. The beds are two separate twin beds, but you can push them together to make one bed. The breakfast was not good. The location was super sketchy. I was very scared walking back to the room at night. Close to the metro station. We stayed here with a group tour so they booked the room for us. Probably won't stay again. read more

They don't allow food in at any time unless you're in a private group. I'm in a group room but my group rented the entire room essentially making it a private room and thus they let me bring food in after 10 the first day here. I got to the lobby at 9:15 and had to sit just waiting until 10 and then magically I could go upstairs because that's when their restaurant closes, dumb method but whatever. Today I suddenly am not allowed to bring food in and ask management and they say they'll let me do it but still the security guard says no. Since when does security have more power than management? So my options are to eat it outside or in the lobby. Claim they had to do this because they had an incident in a non private room previously but agree that my room is essentially private now because we booked the whole room and yet because I don't have "a yellow sticker on my card" it's not allowed. The full manager comes over to offer me that I can eat it in the restaurant as if he's doing me a favor. Yet in this time I watched an Asian man and a white woman bring the food upstairs no problem. I'm a black woman and this is the treatment I thus received. Don't stay here if you're a person of color an want to me treated the same as everyone else. On arrival there were no towels in the room and the trash was filled with tampons from the previous guests. Clearly they don't clean the room in between, they just refold the sheets so you think they are clean. read more

I've stayed there both times I visited Paris. I always feel safe, comfy, and taken care of - things that are especially important when you feel lost in a foreign country. Great service and add ons, such as the roof top bar, club, and restaurant. Highly recommend. read more

Stayed here for just over a week in December 2017. Mostly liked it! Pros: * Nice modern design * Good neighborhood; plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby * Great chill-out room (with comfy couches, foosball table, happy hour) Cons: * Did not have on-site laundry (as stated on their website) -- they were waiting for a delivery. Bummer because it's a major reason I chose them (although there is a nearby laundromat) * Some issues with the shower in our room (e.g. the knob kept falling off, there was mold on the ceiling, the automatic lights kept shutting off whenever I took a shower). Also, the hot water went out one morning due to a flood in the kitchen. * One night, a girl in my dorm got pretty sick and threw up on the floor. (She wasn't drunk; she had food poisoning, possibly from the cafeteria downstairs.) We asked a staff member for help with the cleanup -- even just to borrow some cleaning supplies -- and he was really rude. He kept saying, "This is a hostel, not a hotel. We're not here to help you!" We asked whether we'd get different treatment if we were in a private room, and he said yes. So keep that in mind, I guess. read more
