After touring over 10 apartments, I made my mind immediately right after walking into the unit that Megan presented to me. I was very happy to see a more efficient and reasonable arranged space comparing to other apartments I have visited. The living room, bedroom and walk-in closet are a lot larger, not mention the lovely balcony, indoor swimming pool, saner, cinema room and lots of nice public space for all the residents. Finding an apartment that can meet one's expectations won't be easy! Durham Apartment has almost everything that I am looking for. I really appreciated the great help and wonderful service that Megan provided to me. It was such a pleasure working with her and her team. I am so looking forward to starting a new life at Durham Apartment in Edina, MN.

I had asked for a underground parking spot and a storage unit. I submitted my application (read the SCREENING DOCUMENT very carefully, it says if you are accepted, you only have 24 hours to back out and get your deposit), paid the application fee $40, admin fee $200 and $400 deposit on a Monday morning and by Monday afternoon I received the acceptance phone call. I was so excited! They said to watch my email and the lease document would come in a 5-7 days. I waited 10 days before calling to see what was going on with my lease. I was told that they received numerous applications that week and they would get mine out by the next day. When I received the lease, I noticed that there was no mention of the underground parking or storage. I sent an email back letting them know what was missed on the lease. No reply at all, no updated lease. By this time, I am getting nervous about renting here. My situation changed and I no longer needed to rent an apartment. When I called to see what needed to be done, I was told that I would not get any of my deposit back. READ THE SCREENING DOCUMENT! Anything south of Bloomington wasn't an option and anything north was also not an option. And the apartment community we wanted to be in was some place that would be quiet, has friendly neighbors, close to freeways and stores, and close enough to family. After stopping in at a couple other apartment communities, we drove past Poplar Bridge and then decided to stop in. We spoke to Dena, and she was an absolute sweetheart. Loved her sense of humor, her friendly demeanor, and her services. She did a great job in informing us about the different amenities they had on the property. Seriously, her service alone was what made us feel like we could be a part of the community. She did show us the unit that we could potentially get. It was on the third floor (just what we wanted), had a screened in porch(my husband loved that idea), central air (which was something we were looking for), large bedroom, large bathroom, lots of storage space, and a good sized living area. It may be on the older side for interior fixtures and appliances, but what drew us in was the fact that the community was very friendly and very quiet. It was definitely fate that we walked in there not expecting anything, but found everything we were looking for. We were very pleased with Dena's services and what we observed. We hope to hear good news.

I had to move back in with my mom due to health with my developmental delays. The building that I was in always seemed clean. The caretaker who cleaned stayed on top of the cleaning. The maintenance workers came quickly if something needed fixing like appliances. I am proud to say that the safety features were always being updated and fixed especially after a fire in the building. I have never seen maintenance workers working so hard on trying to have Cedarvale Highlands a safe and good place to rent. I loved how much space there was in a one bedroom and I totally loved the arch ways in the hall and kitchen. When ever something happened the manager Holly was quick to help like the storage locker break ins right next to my unit and how she got a new lock for my storage locker. Cedarvalle Highlands was my very 1st apartment renting by myself. The neighbor down below me told my mom when she was helping me move out that I was very quiet. I loved living there. I had the peace and quiet living there unlike some other apartments. Only if I could go back. The one thing that changed since living there is that they don't take section 8 and that hurts a person who is vulnerable and needing help with housing.

I absolutely love the communal spaces throughout - the have a large pool table, plenty of tv's and seats for guests. The outdoor pool & grill area is great as well; I can definitely see myself bathing in the sun like a true Minnesotan in April. I also love the eclectic mix of antique staples that you'll find throughout the building (think vintage mail boxes that double as the front desk and a old school barred safe door to get into their office). Whole foods being located next door; can we say convenient! A plethora of great organic fare and awesome home products too. Check out the juice bar, or bar bar. They have both! My only negative is the price point - considering there aren't any amazing views. Think Lowertown pricing located near 94 and Snelling. Overall though - amazing new condos in St. Paul! The leasing agents are so friendly and the vibe itself is awesome.

I could say a lot about this place, but if you read nothing else, know this: if safety is important to you, look elsewhere. During our time here, the building became increasingly unsafe. It became normal to find people hanging out in the exits and common areas, openly using drugs and leaving behind drug paraphernalia. There were multiple break-ins while we lived here, yet nothing ever seemed to change. You shouldn't have to walk past people getting high just to get in or out of your apartment. Cops had to be called several times. One time they even started a fire in the doorway. I've attached photos documenting many of these issues so you can judge for yourself. Management wasn't much better. Communication was inconsistent, concerns were brushed aside, and it often felt like management was more interested in looking for reasons to blame residents than actually solving problems. When we received a notice that our lease wasn't being renewed, I asked Julie why. That's when she casually mentioned she thought she had smelled marijuana coming from our apartment. That accusation was completely false. It had never been brought up with us before, there was no warning, and there was no documentation. Then, after we pushed back, the non-renewal was suddenly reversed because she had "failed to document it." It's hard to have confidence in management when something as important as whether you get to keep your home seems to come down to undocumented assumptions. The move-out process was more of the same. We followed their instructions, yet they later tried to rely on issues they had never properly documented before. The communication around our security deposit was also frustrating. After the statutory deadline had effectively passed, we received an email saying they were still waiting on invoices. At the end of the day, I don't expect perfection from an apartment building. I do expect it to be safe, and I expect management to be fair and professional. Unfortunately, Vintage fell short on both. I can't recommend living here. Trust me for what you'll pay you can find something much safer and more professionally managed.

Maintenance orders are promptly addressed and fixed as soon as they can get the parts. New toilets and kitchen faucets have been installed. New paint, carpet and lights in all the halls have made the building look new. New washer and dryers run on an app so we always know when the clothes are done. The pool and BBQ area have nice furniture and beautiful flowers in the summer. There is a nice selection of exercise machines and equipment to use and a party room available by reservation. I only wish the pools were open later at night. The neighborhood is quiet and it is within walking distance to grocery, hardware store, liquor store, gas station and many restaurants. The rent seems to be comparable to other areas in the Mpls area. Overall, I nice place to live.

When I first moved in, I had to spend my own time deep cleaning the carpet because the previous resident had a dog and the unit had not been properly cleaned. There was dog hair throughout the apartment, which should have been addressed before a new resident moved in. After three years of paying rent and being a responsible resident, I decided to move to a larger apartment at another complex. I provided a two-month notice, but instead of a smooth transition, the move-out process became unnecessarily difficult. My rent was suddenly increased by $250 per month. The most troubling part was finding out that my rental history was allegedly misrepresented to the property manager at my new apartment, claiming that I paid my rent late every month. I was extremely upset and disappointed by this because I do not believe it accurately reflected my payment history. I immediately addressed the issue by contacting both properties, and I was disappointed by the lack of accountability. After three years of loyalty, I expected professionalism, honesty, and respect. Unfortunately, my final experience with this property left me feeling that residents are not valued once they decide to leave. I hope management takes a closer look at how they handle long-term residents and move-out situations in the future.
