I'm a newbie here at The Laurel, having moved in just a couple of months ago. I knew in the fall…read moreof 2021 that I would be moving to Minnesota, so I flew into Minneapolis in November of that year to start looking around. I had five or six apartment complexes on my list of buildings to tour, and when all was said and done, The Laurel was one of only two apartment complexes that I liked well enough to even think about renting. In January 2022, a one-bedroom became available at The Laurel, and I grabbed it. I'd been hoping for a two-bedroom, two bath, but I had to get my foot in the door and I figured I could always move into a two-bedroom when one became available. To tell you the truth, though, the apartments here at The Laurel are so very spacious that I've found a one-bedroom to be more than ample for me. I haven't met everyone yet, but everyone I've met so far is delightful, and so are Tony (the manager) and Adam (the assistant manager). It was Adam who gave me the tour of the grounds last November, and I have to say that he was an invaluable help to me, as I was relocating from out-of-state. Computers are not my strong suit and not everyone would have had the patience to walk me through one online necessity after another in the way that Adam did. He persevered without complaining and I so appreciated that. Thank you, Adam! :) This is the first apartment I've lived in in ages, and before I moved into The Laurel, I assumed I'd live here for a while and then, buy a property nearby in which to live. I guess I thought that because that's what I've been doing for decades, but I'm having a change of heart and could see myself living here forever. The complex is clean, quiet, and very well-maintained; and the amenities, while not exhaustive, are really very nice. I see the amenities as quality over quantity. To sum it up, I can't imagine giving The Laurel anything less than 5 stars, and if I could, I'd give management and the grounds even more than that. Suffice it to say, I love it here, and I think you would, too!

Newly remodeled public interiors and exceptionally large living areas... nice! 5. Beautiful party room (with kitchen) suitable for receptions, etc. 6. Large, climate-controlled storage areas - lighted, clean and dry 7. Heated garage with car wash bay 8. Indoor mailroom - highly desirable during Minnesota winters 9. On-site, live-in, apartment personnel and in-building daytime apartment manager 10. In-unit laundry room with deluxe washer/dryer and laundry tub 11. Pet-friendly with ample walking areas 12. Easy access to highways and METRO facilities 13. Adjacent to The Shops at West End complex 14. Available guest suite for short-term rental by guests of tenants 15. Ample off-street guest parking Finally, you absolutely need to visit this place to be convinced yourself about what I have written.

Do not rent from this property management group!…read more Life safety, security, and quiet covenant law ignorance are the primary reasons I would recommend not leasing here. I also experienced sexual harassment from staff while simultaneously refusing to comply with basic safety and security concerns. Here are some of the main reasons you should choose another apartment: 1. Many death threat occurrences in various areas of the Arcata apartment building, while the apartment staff refused to obtain security footage (emails and screenshots to prove previously provided). 2. Water and air contamination problems, accompanied by a refusal to correct issues by staff (photo proof and doctor visits proof previously provided). 3. Sexual harassment occurring simultaneously with life safety and security ignorance: harassment by staff at Arcata (as they insisted I need to "work on that ass" after refusing to grant me indoor parking due to security problems on top of outdoor lot, including window smashing in top outdoor parking lot (full documentation and proof provided). They would not provide another parking option, and now insist that I chose this parking spot, even that was the only option at the time! Not only are they inconsiderate for human life, but they are also liars! 4. Ice contamination in unit 605 (photos of discolored ice & doctor visit proven). 5. Water contamination also with refusal and inability to correct problem by Arcata staff (photos of damage to my skin and doctor visit proof provided). 6. Air problems in unit (plants died or turned black within two days of bringing into my home) with no response by apartment staff. 7. Constant mutilation demands and aggressive intimidation (on premise and parking garage) while apartment staff refused to obtain security footage after asking multiple times through both email and verbal requests - even after catching multiple large groups of stalkers in person (dates and times even provided when requesting video security footage). 8. Consistent harassment on premises, via groups of individuals in community party room, hallway, and entrance lobby area, with statements such as "go back to your room and do old faithful," "we were just going to kill your anyway $:&((:," and "you better cut your dick off," as well as "C'mon /&@:;, you better kill yourself or we will kill you," "that's the alpha," with each in-person death threat demand, Arcata (under Centerspace Management) refused to take action after any time I caught an individual or group of stalkers because staff insisted things are "out of their control" or "beyond our control." This was clearly false as there is a robust security system in place with ample cameras throughout the facility. Under state law, it is under their direct control to provide a secure and safe environment for all paying, law-abiding tenants. 9. Constant Quiet Covenant law ignored by Arcata apartment. 10. Management staff refused to take action after I noted large HVAC unit directly above apartment unit 605 that frequently made loud cranking noises, with constant noise above unit 605, especially after 6pm, making it impossible to sleep (noise acknowledged by neighbor /$-: as well, although he was not directly below HVAC unit like I was, he was even highly irritated with the loud noises). They claimed they would not take any action because the previous tenant did not bring this issue to their attention (what a poor excuse for laziness from a professional property manager!). 11. Refusal by apartment to obtain video security footage in moments of critical life safety matters (asked for help a total of 13 times, but it seemed like they would rather have me dead). 12. Cockroach infestation in my apartment, unit 605, with refusal of Arcata staff to help in any way (photo proof provided of large bugs inside, on screen door, and outside on balcony). Apartment staff refused to take any action but just laughed. 13. Refusal/lack of attempt by Arcata in conjunction with Golden Valley PD to obtain footage of truck break in on top of ramp as well as security tape for incidents in community/party room. Attempted multiple times through both county PD and apartment staff. 14. Construction or maintenance work apparently being done on the south side of the neighboring building "Xenia" apartments, at night on most nights, with two massive lights on South side of that complex directly facing my window, with one light directly shining at my window at all times throughout the night. Refusal to take any action by Arcata. 15. I proactively offered to move to another unit several times in attempt to minimize some of the major problems that were happening. The proposals were instantly rejected by management.

Calling all renters who seek the best management and most accommodating building in Minneapolis !…read more I was dislocated from my home due to water damage and needed a 3 month furnished rental. I only wish I could have stayed longer ! Beginning with Taryn (Lifestyle Director) as well as The building Director Rick, I was treated like ROYALTY! I felt like I had been a valued tenant for years. Moving in took place while I was at work and the 222 staff took care of everything. Cort delivered all the furnishings and they were supervised by the staff. I came home to a bottle of champagne and a free pizza from Whole Foods which as you know, is DOWNSTAIRS !! Every morning their are cleaners cleaning the entire building including the yoga studio, amazing gym over looking the city, and the area downstairs where you get free STARBUCKS every day ! I felt so good showing friends where I got to live. The amenities are everything. The building is really good about keeping community engaged and letting residents know what is happening in the North Loop. There are always scooters around and the best places to eat and drink. Getting packages and sending packages has never been easier with an Amazon locker downstairs ! There are printers and fax machines and computers in a quiet office area that residents can use. I cannot thank the staff at 222 Hennepin enough for being as kind and attentive every day as they are. This is not your standard service. You are paying for luxury and that is exactly what you get !
