I walked into Genesis Dental last February (2024) with zero pain and zero discomfort, but Dr Teeple changed all that. I had a broken crown that needed replacing and while the front staff and assistants were all very helpful, Dr Teeple simply would not be satisfied until she had drilled away so much of the remaining root of my tooth that she exposed the nerve and caused me to then need a root canal that was absolutely unnecessary until I fell victim to her incompetence. She even drilled off a part of the tooth next to it and when I called her out on it she said that it had broken off on its own....as she was drilling. How very coincidental. The root canal took well over two hours and I was in such agony the entire time I was literally crying in the chair and had to ask her to stop several times. I am normally a great patient and have never experienced so much fear and pain at any other dentist. Dr Teeple set the new crown too far away from the next tooth so now there's a substantial gap that captures EVERYTHING I eat. Chewing is uncomfortable at best and I can't even chew gum without having to floss immediately afterward. I cannot chew on the side of my mouth that was damaged by Dr Teeple without extreme pain. Without exaggeration, I now floss upwards of a dozen times a day because there is nothing I can eat that doesn't get stuck in the "Teeple gap". So now, 11 months later, I still have extreme pain at the tooth she ruined and after seeing a different, competent dentist a couple months ago I discovered that Dr Teeple genuinely did such a poor job with the unnecessary root canal she forced me to have that there's been a steadily growing infection at the site and now I may lose that tooth!!!!! All because I trusted Dr Teeple and Genesis Dental. I contacted the owner/manager and got them to refund the amount they charged me for the unnecessary and botched root canal but since I have to live every day with this ruined tooth and pain I see no reason why I shouldn't share my experience so hopefully no one else unknowingly falls victim to Dr Teeple or Genesis Dental. read more

Over the past several months, I've had to visit Genesis Dental of Magna many times. I grind my teeth and have also had to have many crowns done, but with no pain during and very minimal afterwards, as of tomorrow, my dental work will finally be complete... for now. I'm on the spectrum and can be super picky about the way my teeth feel in my mouth, however Dr. Dan and one of the newer, amazing staff, Kenna, have been amazing to work with. They talk to me throughout the process, show me what's going on and even have light sensitive glasses available. My new crowns and fillings fill like they actually belong in my mouth and fit properly. The price I'm going to pay (worst case scenario) is even given to me up front. Love this place! All the staff is great! -- Oh, and the best thing, is you can text them about appointments instead of talking on the phone! read more

Absolutely disgusting place. Horrible horrible horrible. So first issue I have with this place is, my wallet was stolen along with all of my cards and ID of course. So I am having my new card mailed and asked them to bill me. They "can't." How can they not bill you? You're a business. Second. I can't be in the room with my sister to get her procedure done because the doctor gets "anxiety." How the fuck are you going to be a doctor and get anxiety when doing a procedure???? Wtf??? I seriously hate this place. Do not recommend it at all. And they'll charge an arm and a leg for anything. Always ask for an itemized receipt. My bill went from $728 down to $511 because of unnecessary charges they were trying to make me pay read more

This place is shady. They were so disorganized that when we discussed my dental plan, which was extensive, I was told my first visit would be around 7000 dollars. 2 thousand was covered by insurance, 2 thousand by my fsa, and I got a loan for the remaining 3000. When I arrived with money in hand they informed me that they weren't doing all the work originally discussed which included a root canal that had abcessed in between visits and was needed to support the new bridge work we were doing. The office girl talked to the assistants and realized they had written the plan down wrong so after agreeing to do what was originally discussed, they had me on my knockout drugs which were kicking in. The office manager then comes into the room where I'm already laid out in the chair and informs me that it's going to be 3000 dollars more than originally discussed. She stated she had only been there two weeks and needed to help me understand where i, the patient, the customer, was wrong after they already started they made a mistake. I left immediately and went to another dentist to at least take care of the abcessed tooth. When the new dentist called Genesis dental to requests my records, the Genesis staffed laughed. I wouldn't even give this place 1 star. My husband had the most terrible experience here with Dr. Ellingson. He went in for a normal cleaning and was told he needed a crown even though the tooth wasn't bothering him. After receiving his temporary, he had to go back days later since his tooth was in a lot of pain. They ground it down a little and just kind of brushed him off. It continued to hurt so he went to a different location and was told there the tooth actually needed a root canal. He went back to Dr. Ellingson and during the root canal he broke part of the file off in the root of his tooth. He had the audacity to say it doesn't seem that bad, you'd probably be fine to leave it in and cover it up with the crown. He went to an endodontist who couldn't believe they would tell him that. They successfully removed it, and he went back to Dr. Ellingson for his permanent crown. They completed the crown but weren't very sensitive to the sore in my husbands mouth he had developed even after repeatedly telling them it hurt. Days later he had to go back again as the sore kept getting bigger and he started tasting salt in his mouth. Again it didn't seem like they cared at all, in fact after flushing it said "You aren't coming back again after this are you?" At this point he only went back to get the mouth guard he ordered, and while there the dentist finally said something about his sore. Now he says my husband's condition was worry some and it might be cancer! What?! Now he had to go to an oral surgeon who discovered the sore was actually from a piece of broken off bone floating in his gums from when they chipped off the fillings to put on the temporary crown in the very beginning. We tried to contact the office manager and ask for a discount for all of the unnecessary charges we accrued along the way and never received a response. What a nightmare!!! No thanks to this dentist we incurred many unwanted expenses and experiences, and will never go back!!! read more
