My mother was a resident at Madison Manor for about 5 months. She had dementia and was under…read morehospice care. The staff at Madison Manor was a godsend to our family. We never had to worry that she was being taken care of. From Mary Overton, the facility admissions director to everyone from the aides, CNAs, nurses, and maintenance we were very satisfied with her care. She was treated with love and dignity in her last days.

Madison Manor is an old, small, nondescript one-story brick building you would drive right past…read morewithout noticing. Even the lot is small. There is none of the external (and internal) "flare" of other senior care facilities such as Redstone Village (or even the place I would *never* recommend, Regency) like putting greens, raised herb gardens, floral gardens, water features, extensive walking paths, ice cream parlors, swimming pools, libraries, etc. It may have a library, I did not explore the entire interior. It's about 3 blocks north of Highway 20 on Sullivan in Madison. It's an 80-bed Medicare/Medicaid skilled care and rehab facility. My best friend and sorority sister's sweet Daddy has been here for about 2 weeks and I have visited him twice. He is in a semi-private room sharing it with another man, and they can have the curtain pulled between them for a little privacy. The rooms are small. Each resident gets a hospital bed, a microscopic wardrobe, a guest chair, a wall-mounted TV [there may be one TV per room], and a bedside table. Logistics are not bad! You ring the front doorbell, and someone lets you in almost immediately, there are no long waits like I experienced at Merrill Gardens while being absolutely loaded down with supplies for Mom. You enter the open lobby area [again, very small; however it and the facility are tidy] and are greeted by the friendliest staff on the planet. There's a tiny [size of an old school calculator] check in device where you key in your name, phone number, answer personal health related questions, the name of the person you are visiting, your relationship, and it takes your temperature and prints out a name tag. Although, it feels like the 70s inside, each person I interacted with was smiling, friendly, kind, and helpful! The staff checked in on my BF's Dad while I was there and tidied up his half room. We met one of the physical therapists and she was very attentive and engaged, offering to coordinate a special need my BF had for her Father, with the nurse. The residents were discussing a Veteran's Day visit a group had organized during which they visited, and gifted the Veteran's with a ball cap and a bag loaded up with goodies like moon pies, Cheetos, and snack crackers. This visit was quite the "buzz" of discussion and made me happy! One of his lunches was typical southern food: fried fish, turnip greens, coleslaw and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. BF said the meals taste really good. I can attest the meals do smell good! Do consider Madison Manor if you need their services. Sadly, skilled care in Madison County is suffering a serious shortage in terms of availability and open beds. Don't expect to be "wowed" by the building itself. Do know you can tailor your loved one's room [or semi-private room] with wall decor, personal photos, calendars, etc. The pictures uploaded here do not reflect the room my BF's dad is in or the exterior. Rather than the somewhat inviting single-bedroom photo here on Yelp, the semi-private rooms are more like 40-year-old hospital rooms. Also, there are no exterior seating areas at MM.

A lot of your loved one's care has to do with you. Do you show up? Do you visit your loved one? I know not everyone can due to being remotely located. This facility loves my Mom and loves her well. They delight in getting her ready for a joyride (thanks Serea), and the staff are so engaged with mom they can't wait to tell my family and me what she's been up to (both good and bad). I have one of their fabulous nurses on text message and can get any information I need about Mom in an instant. They are so responsive and so loving. I highly recommend Grandview Gardens for your loved one's memory care needs and Redstone Village for assisted living. Some advice: be present if possible and be active in your loved one's care this goes a long way. Both Redstone Village proper and Grandview Gardens have kept mom happy and healthy for around 7 years! Thanks so much! This facility is clean and updated and full of activities but If your loved one doesn't want to participate, they willingly go the extra mile to ensure their needs are met, for example, making sandwiches for mom who slept through dinner and didn't eat. This is the type of facility you do not dread visiting. Please consider Redstone Village. It is an entire life span facility from freestanding homes where you have a beautiful view and can drive your car or golf cart to dining or exercise or swimming facilities to assisted living again with beautiful views, to memory care with ample activities, including day trips to local strawberry picking and restaurants to hospice. Redstone Village is the real deal and my family and I are so grateful Mom is enjoying her 88th year on the planet here. My family have visited other facilities in Madison county and mom lived in one for about a year. Redstone Village eclipses all of them in terms of compassionate care, consistent rule following and generally loving what they do. Almost no personnel turnover. For peace of mind do consider RV and GG.

I wanted a facility that offered both independent and assisted-living as well as a memory care unit to ensure that all my future needs would be adequately met. Redstone Village, nestled up on a hill surrounded by mature trees and beautiful gardens, has exceeded my expectations. The staff has been most helpful in guiding me throughout the process from my initial visit to moving in, which has made the entire move less stressful. I have found my neighbors to be very warm and welcoming. Daily opportunities from exercise to pleasant social events, good food and shopping close by makes for ideal senior living. SB

Please, do not go there! Do not send your family there! The…read moreabsolute worst care from the primary doctors, psychiatrist and med pushers! I watched women detox in their beds, soiling their cloths and spoken about terribly where clients were in ear range! I myself was able to detox without meds from alcohol and amphetamines. I kept myself upbeat and as positive as I could as I witnessed the women around me battle getting proper meds, being pushed out after 2 weeks for doing so "well". I had a medical issue and spent 72 hours with zero resolution or even appointment from the primary care giver, however the nursing staff and the daily behavioral health techs were amazing with the exception of one. Nancy who absolute should not be employed there, as she was aggressive, non approachable and judgemental as she stated this to our entire group that if she didn't "vibe" with a client she refused to care for them and would have another staff member care for them. This caused massive insecurities with many of the women including myself. The person you spend a majority of your day with sharing to the entire group that she would refuse to give care if she didn't "vibe"!!!! Disgusting! At the 72 hour mark when I absolutely needed to be seen by a medical provider other than the housing nurse I demanded to go to the ER. I was dropped off, left with no phone, no money and the hospital Dr stated I was an alcoholic and addict therefore this was my issue. He never touched me nor cared to listen to my current health condition which was the cause of my symptoms. When discharged the hospital instructed me to wait outside or in the er waiting room. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes after discharge before I was picked up! This was not the fault of the staff person responsible for picking me up, it was due to the fact they are under staffed. When my husband and I spoke with admissions our number 1 concern was my safety as well as being sure there would not be any men in the house, which i was promised numerous times there would not be. This was a lie, each night with the exception of 2 out of my 8 it was a man, a large man. When I addressed this concern with the higher up, I was told they were professionals as well as GAY! WHAT??! However, this gentleman is married to a daytime BHT at the same house and recently had a baby together! My addiction and trauma was due to a man from my past.. I did not sleep, even though we were demanded to go to bed at 10:30pm..as they call LIGHTS OUT! Doors unlocked, no security on property. When I addressed this I was told we were in the middle of nowhere and noone would bother us! Wouldn't you think it would be the opposite?! After 8 days of pure hell even while I gave it my all, I discharged myself and was driven off property to the "admissions" parking lot. When my Uber wasn't able to be arrive for over an hour the supervisor called the BHT who transported me and told her to drop me off at the love's truck stop 5 miles down the road. When I advocated for myself with disbelief that they would demand her to do this, they then offered for me to come back to the original ranch house and wait there! The BHT was extremely supportive of me and waited for my Uber to confirm a pickup time which was 1.5 hours later! A truck stop..the number 1 sex trafficking location in the world..I was left there! Overall Uber nor lyft could not pick me up because it was so far out of the way and no drivers were available. After 3 hours at the truck stop I hitched a ride with a husband and wife in the back of their truck (bed of their truck) on the interstate 13 miles away to the closest motel to the love's trucks top which my husband booked for me. At 10 o'clock at night! A truck stop, then in the bed of a strangers truck to attempt to get to safety! My husband drove 10 hours to come get me because airline tickets were 900 dollars..we are still currently in the car driving home back to the safety of my family in Florida..thank god! Please, please I beg you do not go there or send your family there! The worst experience of my life..and if that doesn't keep me sober NOTHING will! Again Nancy the non licensed Behavioral Health Tech who is a recovered addict who DID NOT ATTEND ANY TYPE OF REHAB is an awful disgusting person! Awful! Shame on you and I pray to my higher above you lose your job so you no longer have the power to intimidate and torture women who are fighting their hardest to get and stay sober! You're a trigger and you should never ever be allowed to work with human beings or animals for that matter ever again! Kristin, Trinity, Margarita, Heidi, Candice, Tabitha Elisa, omg Claire, Dan, Mitchell, Kathy Stevie,Scarlett, Amber,Destiny, Jordan, Elise, Daphany, Sarah god bless you all, you are why I made it as long as I did! My your lives be filled with joy, blessings and all the love you deserve! You are special people and the world needs more of you! Brandi, get a new profession!

Most of my clothes were taken away when I arrived and they were items I was told over the phone that I could bring. I had to cook my own meals plus a dinner for the entire house which was 20 girls plus house mothers. This is a lot for someone who could barely function and required treatment. I was there for 10 days and not allowed to make phone calls. None! The therapist told my husband I was not doing well and needed a higher level of care. He then left for the weekend. I was nearly catatonic and could barely form a sentence. I tried talking to the house, mothers, a nurse, the doctor, therapist, and the head therapist and I could not get the help I needed. I'm still being treated for PTSD from staying at The Ranch and it has been seven years. The only time I felt safe was my last night in the infirmary before I left. This is not a place for someone with any sort of mental disorder. It is more of a recovery center for addiction. It is a holistic approach to healing. Please read reviews carefully before you go. I was struggling from grief, depression, and anxiety. I was desperate and didn't know where to turn. I thought The Ranch was my answer and it was almost my ending.
