From the charming set up, and beautiful sparkling wine selection, to the wonderful dinner service…read moreand expert menu recommendations, and the perfect food, we couldn't have asked for more. I would have gone back there many, many nights if we hadn't found the restaurant on our last. I love when we sent our compliments to the chef, our waiter said, I will be happy to let my mom know. A couple of recommendations on food were the Mussels as a starter, Ravioli with a sweet Onion Sauce (I dream about this one - but it was a special of the day and sadly not on the menu), and the John Dory for our main. Really ridiculously wonderful place from top to bottom. Our hotel had a habit of liking to send us to their brother's, cousin's and sister's restaurants and always deterred us from going anywhere they didn't want us to by complaining about how far it was. On a map, Porto Rotondo said it was about 40-45 mins from Porto Cervo where we stayed but it was really a quick and beautiful 20-25 minute drive. Don't be dissuaded - it's worth the drive from anywhere in Costa Smeralda.

The menu featured a variety of local seafood and house made pasta. For me, the standout was the local specialty of fregola made with saffron and the local thin bread baked with rosemary (carasau). My husband's appetizer portion of seafood stew had oysters, clams, langoustines...so good. Our host picked out a nice bottle of local Vermintino that complimented our lunch well. We were finished off with house pours of mirto, the local liquer made from the myrtle plant.
