Definitely they have some areas that need improvement, but the majority of the staff were excellent, especially the doctors, therapists, and administration. Their equipment and protocols are very good. Staffing is (as usual in health care), the biggest concern. They are desperately short on speech therapists. And the quality of many of the CNAs certainly needs improvement (although many were outstanding). If your loved one has trouble communicating or even knowing when to ask for help with basic needs, you will want someone from your family present for the majority of the waking hours to make sure their needs are met. The CNAs are just too busy to check on patients enough to take adequate care of their basic needs. Also, someone will need to be there at all times because you never know when a doctor is going to stop in. If you have any concerns to discuss (which you probably will), or just want to hear a report, you need to be there so you don't miss the visit. The one other thing to consider is the scheduling of therapy. Sometimes the sessions are scheduled too close together. Some recovery/rest/eating/bathroom/medication administration time is needed in between or else little value is gained from the therapy. We often had to ask for adjustments so my (very tired from the stroke) Dad didn't have 2 or 3 hours in a row of therapy. When you think about how weak someone is from ailments/surgeries/medications/stress, asking them to do 1.5 hours of therapy is like asking a well person to do cross fit for a full 1.5 hours! It's a lot! A rest is needed before the next session. But the bottom line is, the majority of the care at Brooks is excellent. The staff are mostly truly caring and go out of their way to give outstanding care. We are so grateful to Dr. Perez, Hugo, Muong Hwa, Michelle, Susie (Jesusa), Irish, Tara, Shaniah, Donna, Kate, and SO many more!

As for the food we experienced, it was fresh and flavorful and the residents all appeared to be more than satisfied with their meals. My family member also had to participate in the therapy department, each therapist was very involved with each resident and each therapist demonstrated a very strong professional image. Last but not least, the communication I received not only from the clinical team, but as well as management was above and beyond. Would highly recommend Solaris of Daytona Beach to anyone needing this level of care.

I live in Ormond Beach and had just drove 45 minutes to this location. My email indicated that the Palm Coast location was where my appointment was. I was told that the Ormond location could see me 5 (FIVE), hours later in the day! This was clearly a huge mistake on Ability Rehabilitation! Why was I turned away from this Palm Coast location? Why couldn't they fit me in after adjusting my busy schedule and driving 45 Minutes? My only regret is that I can't rate this operation with a negative number. Take my word when I say, steer clear of Ability Rehabilitation, Palm Coast. When you walk away with feeling like a number rather than a human then it's time to hopefully help others from making the same mistake as myself.

Total visits to the house 5 that does not count the two no shows. Just received the bill to insurance billed for 15 visits and over $22k. Total fraud. Do not recommend.

This is fantastic facility and is very secure so be prepared to go through a Magnetometer and have you photo taken and a badge assigned to you before proceeding to conduct your business. There is some ongoing construction going on to expand this facility's capacity but it's contained and didn't affect entering or exiting the property however getting here can be a little challenging with all the traffic in the area. The staff here was really friendly and accommodating and I found the layout of this hospital to be very user friendly with good signage throughout. We found our way to our friend's room without any assistance and had a wonderful visit. I was told the level of care has been amazing and attentive, so we all have high expectations that the results will match the staff's professionalism and competency - I'm sure I'll return a few more times in the next few weeks to check on my buddy but it's reassuring knowing he is receiving the best care possible...

My husband and I were well established within the Advent Health system for a number of years but we…read morehad had two previous primary care physicians leave their practices rather abruptly. It hadn't been easy finding another primary care practice within the Advent system, but we had. We had found a physician we really liked in a very good family practice group located in the medical offices of the Advent Health Daytona Beach hospital. We felt we were being well cared for there, until we suddenly weren't. At our last routine office visits we were told when we checked out that the practice, of four physicians, was being closed! We had been scheduled well ahead for our upcoming routine office visits and of course those visits were cancelled. What we received was a cryptic form letter with the names of four nurse practitioners in case we were in need of future care. While we don't mind being seen by a nurse practitioner occasionally, and preferably for a specific problem, we want to be seen by an MD for our regular ongoing care. A bit shocked by this sudden and unexpected news and disappointed that we had not been told by our physician after our exams, we felt compelled to ask some pretty pointed questions. Our inquiries were met with what we felt were believable answers. The practice closure appears to have been a management decision and it had been decided that the physicians were not to personally impart this news to patients directly. Instead, that unwelcome news was shifted to the clerical staff, which frankly seemed to us to be quite unfair. Our two previous physicians, who had also left the Advent system, had given us the courtesy of personally sharing the unpleasant news of our needing to find a new doctor, so we asked why this time we hadn't been afforded this courtesy. It apparently wasn't our physician's choice, it was a directive. (But by whom?) A perusal of the current Advent Health website of primary care MD's accepting new patients shows we've pretty much been left with very few, if any, choices. And, the unwelcome result is that our scheduled routine medical care is also set back by months and neither of us is "Feeling Whole" as advertised.

They help determine the needs and care of the patient ahead of time. They discuss care preferences and scenarios, touring your home with you to locate essentials for cooking, laundry, cleaning, bathing, medical needs, and pet care. On the first day of service, they accompany the caregiver to review item locations, ensuring minimal disturbance to the patient post-surgery. I thought that strategy was brilliant and thoughtful. It hadn't even crossed my mind, but I'm so glad it was on theirs! Knowing and then meeting the patient's needs is their top priority. They're perfect if you don't have a reliable support system in town, or your loved ones' schedules can't accommodate all or some of your needs. If procedures or surgery is required they'll take you to the hospital or doctor's office and be the point of contact for your release, similar to a family member, and bring you home, settle you in and stay with and care for you for your allotted time. They'll even run errands, buy groceries and prepare meals for you. Their on-staff registered nurse visits your home if a medical concern arises, assessing whether it's normal or requires follow-up with your medical provider, and this service is integrated into your care plan based on need. They also offer flexible care scheduling to accommodate varying daily requirements, which is a rarity in the industry. Whether you just need a little in-home assistance, or you need lots of care after a procedure or event, you can't go wrong with "Complete Care at Home. They are so genuinely thoughtful, sweet and friendly and endeavor to keep the comfort, needs and care of the patient first. It doesn't even feel like you're doing business with a business. I highly recommend them!
