Gentle dental was is a very Gentle dental place. I enjoy with Gentle dental that Staff is outstanding and very accommodating.

Some people here are great, though some are a little less communicative. Overall, based on my experiences with them, I would say it is a good office who takes the care of their pateitns serioues and prioritizes them with the best treatment they can provide. The office is clean and compared to others I have been to, they have more staff available to help, so lower overall wait times to be helped when you walk in. Some options of care can be limited, so make sure that they provide the specific treatment options your insurance allows. This office specifically appears to do both general dentistry as well as orthodontic care. Condescending office staff, incompetent care. Dr insisted I needed a root canal. I kept saying it didn't hurt. What hurt was his fingers in my mouth! I did not want to return but needed to finish the procedure I had already paid for. They ended up scheduling me with the Dr that only deals with root canals for further clarification. He was awesome! Poking around and grinding here & there with no anesthetic, he said I definitely didn't need a root canal! He put my crown on & said to wear it for awhile with this temporary glue. When I was ready, to just come in and they would put the permanent glue on. This started in Aug 2025. It is mid January I called to make the appointment and was told it would be the end of May to see the new Dr to ESTABLISH a new patient appt. At this time she would deem what to do. This entire experience has been ridiculous! The ONLY saving grace was the root canal Dr and his assistant. I wish I could remember their names. read more

My daughter has extreme anxiety. She was seen yesterday for dental work. The office was great from the minute she walked in to the minute she walked out. The front office had nothing but smiles for her. She saw Dr Johnson, Dr Teel and Dr Nguyen. They and the Dental Assistants made her feel very safe. This is strictly for the girls in the front. The dentist and dental assistants are fantastic. They could really use a full house sweep. The front girls have ZERO customer service skills. I am never greeted when I walk in I'm always the one who says something first. They act like I am a bother and they'd rather be anywhere else. I do not appreciate being treated this way. I work in customer service so I know how important it is and how much of a difference it can make. They are making the worst kind. I will never be coming back. I highly recommend either they find other front desk people or you just don't come here. They'll lose business because of them. read more

I am a new patient at Gentle Dental in Keizer. This office has been the best example of professional care, compassion for a patient, creating a positive and comfortable experience while in their chairs. I have had nothing but the best service each appointment. Dr. Tidwell and dental assistant Laura have made getting a filling a breeze. They keep you informed on what is being done and why. All while having lighthearted and fun conversations making your appointment that much more enjoyable. This place is TERRIBLE. I saw 3 different dentists in a 6 month period because they are constantly cycling them out. I would assume this is because the office is such a fast pace factory like setting where actual care seems to be non existent and these dentists don't want to feel like day laborers. Awful experience #1: They refused to do more than one filling at a time requiring me to come in and get numbed and go through a lot more pain and discomfort than necessary. Further more, they seemed stingy with the anesthetic and would insist on continuing work even though I could still very much feel the pain. Awful experience #2: After a filling procedure I went home and looked in my mouth. I thought they had used an amalgam (metal) filling when I specifically asked for a composite filling (tooth colored). When I called the desk clerk told me they used an amalgam filling and it took me going in and getting my tooth examined to realize the desk clerk just doesn't know what those two terms mean. She didn't have a clue. Awful experience #3: After receiving a filling from an obviously rushed dentist (who only stayed with the office for 2 months) I mentioned that I had a lot of sensitivity and that it didn't feel right. I was reassured it was just the tooth adjusting to the new filling. After a while I tried scheduling another appointment to have the filling looked at and they told me, "We don't have a dentist for you right now, we will call you when we find a dentist." And that was it. Fast forward a year and a half and the terrible filling has failed completely and it has eroded from the inside out, my new dentist couldn't even tell that there was one there in the first place. This included with the fact that the filling was jagged, hurt from day one, and had little to no care taken in the massive gap they left for food to get stuck in is inexcusable. BONUS AWFUL EXPERIENCE: My spouse was recommended to have only 2 of her wisdom teeth removed because of potential never damage. On the day she went in for surgery the office marked the WRONG two teeth! If it weren't for the outside surgeon for noticing they would have removed the dangerously nerve covered teeth. This scares me to the core because these mistakes were very luckily found by someone outside of the office and all while she was put under. SCARY. Don't go here, just don't. They are constantly messing up in ways a medical office shouldn't, do you really want your face to be next? read more

Dentists are good but the medical receptionist staff straight suck....they should go back to school to relearn a few processes and procedures of receptionist work. Not all but the last couple are lost in never-land. My wife came in to have a couple of teeth taken care of. One was chipped and missing filling and there was one more that needed some work. The woman dentist did nothing to care of my wifes 2 teeth that were giving her pain. The dentist basically was trying to hold my wife hostage (monetarily) telling her she needed other work done 1st and it would be "unethical" to fix the teeth that were bothering her. But, it wasn't "unethical" to send my wife out the door in pain. This was nothing short of padding this dentists bank account. The dentist she will be seeing in a week is going to take care of it for her. I have been a customer for years. My bad experience started about a year ago. Made me upper denture. Has not been a good experience. They were pretty messed up. not centered. And lopsided. Talked to Kory and asked for a refund.. Kory Said she emailed corporate. I called back a couple months later. Kory said they mailed something to me that I need to sign and get a refund . Nothing showed up in the mail. When I called the office to talk to Kory I get put on hold. The last time was about 15 minutes nobody answered I called back left my number asked her to return my call. Still no call back nothing in the mail. We have had a lot of conversations. She has told me that they have mailed me something several times. Still nothing. read more

The Gentle Dental in Keizer fit me with my first dentures. What a bummer....they never have fit well...they sent them off for the "final" fitting 6 months ago and that "fitting" has totally wore out and they are once again very sloppy and I am now told that they are not going to honor MediCaid insurance after Oct. 8th, 2018....So they can now wash their hands of me. I do now how they can do this as a lot of there clientele are poor Hispanics who, like I, depend on this supplemental insurance. My other specialists have also dropped this insurance, I sure because can not make the big bucks from state run insurance. read more

My wife could not get into Dallas, Oregon Gentle Dental so she went to Keizer station for a lost filling and a 2 side cavity filling. Dallas said with our insurance the cost for both would be under $125 but when Keizer Station it cost us $310.52 plus my insurance paid them $504.62. The exam was suppose to be $50 but when I told them I had insurance it went to $315.00, ouch. I had a good experience coming here for the first time. Then, having to come back a couple times more to get my issues fixed. I don't remember the dentists name but I dealt with him both times I was in for the fixes. He was respectful and informative. I was in for a cleaning as well which was with a really awesome lady but it seemed she didn't really scrub them very much with the device they use like I've always previously had happen. I'll try again and if I don't feel it's a good enough cleaning I will find another dental office to start going to. I was worried with some of these reviews on here but the office seems to be filled with good people that are happy to be helping you and know what they are doing. I was seen in May. I received a letter stating their equipment was found unclean and they would pay for blood tests for HIV and Hepatitis at their expensive. After much running around and talking to many of their staff I waited months to have the OK to be tested by my doctor. I received the bill in the mail Again, after run around I personally handed them the bill! On August 9th I receive a notice that part of the bill is overdue. This is ruining my credit! Questioned about my ethnicity as I'm a biracial Caucasian girl with a Hispanic name. Which I'd never felt so guilty about until today Belittled and ridiculed regarding insurance dispute. I went in with a headache, which was only made worse by the stress from my visit. I'm now paying out of pocket for the appointment, to avoid inconveniencing the woman behind the counter any further, because she'd clearly been through enough in the 10 minutes I was in the exam room. Feeling very disappointed as this was previously my favorite place to receive care. Sorry to say after over 6 months of "service" at this Keizer Gentle Dental office, my opinion is still very low. I am on the Oregon Health Plan, and have chosen Capitol Dental Care because it gave me more choices of dentists in the Salem area. Gentle Dental, being a chain, seemed a good bet. After my initial visit, which was a good experience, I had my teeth cleaned by a competent, congenial Hygienist. Set up appointments to have 2 cavities filled and some repairs on problem fillings. Soon after the office called to reschedule those appointments, as my dentist had left the practice. Rescheduled and got Dr. Roland Lee. Not impressed with him as he talked around me to the dental assistant, rather than discussing or informing me of the plan. His skills as a dentist are also questionable, as the molar resurface filling I have is both rough and "edgy" or ridgy feeling. Had him smooth it at the next visit, but it's just tolerable, not really natural feeling yet. Had a broken tooth dental emergency next, and was unable to get an appointment for 7 weeks. Pain was an issue. No help other than getting on the "short call" list for when someone cancels and they have a short-notice appointment available. I took that option. Meanwhile, I called Capitol Dental Care and was informed that SmileKeepers Dental was an option for emergency dental needs. They take "walk-in" appointments M-F when the doors open at 8am and again after lunch at 1pm. If you stand outside waiting for the doors to open, you have a good shot at getting your emergency needs taken care of that day. So I did that. SmileKeepers had me fill out all the paperwork necessary of history and medical info. and got to me within 1 1/2 hours of my urgent care request. A temporary cap was placed on the broken tooth, just to stop the sensitivity to heat and cold. It took about 15 minutes in the chair. Why Gentle Dental doesn't keep those kinds of emergency appointments open, I don't know. But SmileKeepers of Salem did it for me. (Charging it to my insurance of course) I managed not to dislodge that temp. filling in the 5 remaining weeks until my Gentle Dental Keizer appt. Dr. Lee looked over the situation and remarked that it was not a large segment of the tooth that had broken off. He felt he could easily save the tooth and restore it. He removed the temporary filling and the old filling underneath it, and replaced it. However, he did nothing to restore the original shape of the tooth. Meaning he did not form the filling to imitate the small (It's estimate 1/6th of the tooth) lobe that had chipped away. I was in the mood to switch doctors at this point. However, they said the other dentist on staff was overseas doing humanitarian dentistry for the month. No one on staff other than Dr. Roland Lee. So I waited. Guess what? That dentist doing "humanitarian work" apparently never came back to the practice. Dr. Lee was still the only dentist on staff in August. I had my teeth cleaned again (7 months after the initial cleaning at this office). This cleaning was by a different (but permanent staff) Hygienist, Vitaly O. He also seemed well skilled and was personable. All the staff working in the back with patients seem to be pleasant and well trained. The front office staff can lack warmth and compassion at times, but with THE ISSUES THE LACK OF DENTISTS CREATES, that may be the underlying problem. How do you show compassion and get someone's needs met when you don't have a dental "chief" to service their particular need? Not sure what the core problem is with this Keizer Station/Keizer Oregon Gentle Dental office, but I hope they get it resolved soon. I have not found a way to contact their local hub or home office. Feel a bit bad about leaving a stinky review, but I gave them 4 actual dentist appointments to make a good impression. Only the Hygienists and Dental Assistants get 3 to 4 stars from me at this Keizer Station location. I was not paid or otherwise instructed to make any statements about Keizer Oregon or the Gentle Dental office there. These are reflections of my own unique, personal experience at this office. I have had regular dental exams and fillings over the course of my 50+ years and this is only the second time I've felt the need to change dentists because of poor service or lack of faith in my dentists practices. read more

Not a good dental office, the dental assistant caused me to have a panic attack when I was in the office. She was rude and unprofessional. The office manager was also rude when I tried to talk about my bill, which I felt was incorrect. They where paid extra from my insurance from what they said, and instead of giving me credit for that extra amount they kept it, and charged me more. Made an appointment because I had severe tooth pain and they weren't very helpful. I called June 2nd and they couldn't get me in until July 12th. I stressed that the pain was pretty unbearable and she said she didn't know what to tell me and that I could keep calling and maybe they could get me in earlier. Well, I get a text the next day telling me that my new appt is on July 19th. I was pretty furious considering they didn't even ask if they could push my appt further when I was in that much pain. So, I called Aspen and they got me in the same week. I called Gentle to cancel my appt and they told me that it had already been cancelled. What the heck? This place is a mess. Good thing I didn't wait on them or I would have been completely screwed and miserable. Watch out! Apparently their office people have no idea what they're doing. read more

Got there and the receptionist lied to me saying they left several messages (how does one count as several?) to reschedule. two hours off work to just turnaround and walk out!!!
