I had a 7:30am wellness appointment this morning, I had to travel a way to get there in the rain. I was 10 minutes late. I walked in told the receptionist who I was and apologized for being late. She picked up the phone and called someone in the back, I am assuming it was the nurse and she said: "Your NO-SHOW is here" I was very embarrassed. I would have rather she said I missed my appointment. I really like my doctor, but I don't like being talked about or insulted. I am not sure what to do. If the office staff are talking about you for something so simple as that, what are they saying about my weight, my test results, etc... I need someone to advise me on this. read more

Doctors are great! Office staff is horrible and rude! I refuse to let the unprofessionalism of the staff ruin my experience with my doctor. I will continue to see my doctor, but I will treat the office staff the way they treat me. read more

The doctors and nurses here are great. However, the support staff and receptionists are some of the rudest people I have ever had the misfortune to interact with. They seem to have no idea what they are doing, cannot find your previous visits in the computer, and schedule you with the wrong doctor, therefore insuring that you are going to be inconvenienced and have to go over all your medical history again with a different Dr. They cite policies that have never been in place before, or if they were, they were not adhered to. When you question them, they are defensive, loud, and extremely rude. again, love the doctors and nurses here, but they seriously need to pay attention to the support staff and how they are treating patients. read more

these doctors and n.p.s dont have empathy at all. I hurt my knee so badly I couldnt walk. decided to go to my N.P. instead of E.R. Big mistake. Upon arrival I was in so much pain I couldnt move my leg. N.P. wanted to drain the knee as it was as big as a football. Let me back up, I waited for over 30 min. until the front desk assistant said she would try to hurry up my appt. as she could see I was in excruciating pain. So the N.P. sticks a huge needle in my knee but due to inflammation she was unable to extract much fluid as I was in too much pain. She got the doctor in charge for a consult, he wasnt much different as far as empaty, he actually said " yea, it looks bad. " then left the N.P. to try to figure out something. I asked for a pain remedy, NOPE, instead the N.P. wanted me to GET UP ONTO THE TABLE, which I wasnt able to do, they finally brought in a wheelchair. I was delirious with pain and immobility. No one cared about that, as the N.P finally said, well, Ill send some meds to the pharmacy which you can pick up. Unbelievable. I couldnt walk. I literally couldnt walk. The nurse said she felt bad that I couldnt make it on my own, and didnt know what to do. I HAD TO ASK FOR CRUTCHES so I could make it to the parking lot. I was on my own. I couldnt get into my car to leave, spent about 20 min. until a nice person came along and helped me into the car. I drove, crying, with my only leg I could move. Got to the pharmacy in the drive up window. I got the inflammation pills, HA but the pain pills werent sent. I told the pharmacist "im not leaving without the pain pills." I waited while he called back the N.P. to send them. Finally I got them. I asked the pharmicist if someone could drive me home as I was in excruciating pain. He said no. I drove home. This isnt the first time this clinic has failed me, I had been a client there for 2 yrs. Decided against ever going to a clinic again, for any reason. The medical system is broken in America, has been for years. My knee isnt any better as I did get a consult to a "surgeon" who said the knee is "god-awful" with arthritis. He didnt educate me on any remedies or surgery, etc. Physical therapy was a joke, as I was charged 50 bucks for doing things I can easily do at home, or get better care from Youtube, who is my doctor now. Yes, YOUTUBE is more educational than these people at Gentry clinic by far. Knee is still the same but not as painful or inflamed. God help me if it gets that bad again, as I will NEVER go back to the Gentry clinic for an ingrown toenail let alone for anything else I went to them for which they didnt provide any help or EMPATHY. Let me start by saying I love the doctors and nurses here. If I could review them separately from the office staff, they would get a full five stars! The medical staff is caring, kind, knowledgeable, and personable. I've been a patient at Gentry Medical Center all of my life (as a kid, now as an adult with my own kids), and have only had positive interactions with all of them. If you're looking for a great family practitioner with stellar nurses and lab staff, come here! However. The office staff are some of the worst and most difficult people to deal with. The office staff would get zero stars if I could. They routinely forget to follow up on patient requests (took me over a month to get my son's shot records, and I had to come in to get them in person despite the fact that I have a secure account on Patient Portal), are rude (hung up on me today), don't inform people of office protocols (had no idea how to prep for an office visit during the COVID pandemic, and no help from office staff for what to do or bring), get incorrect information (was told to be ready for my appointment at 1:30 today, but when I showed up at 1:15, was laughed at and told my appointment was at 2:00), and are treated poorly based on whether or not your balances are paid (husband had a procedure at a different but affiliated clinic, we worked out a 3 month payment plan with the other clinic, and on my next visit to Gentry, office staff made sure to announce loudly that all copays were due, and then asked if I could pay for my service that day, since I obviously had an outstanding balance, even though we had never had outstanding bills with them before). Additionally, today, one of the receptionists attempted to put me on hold, then had a conversation with the nurse. Surprise! Receptionist didn't even know how to put me on hold, so I heard the entire conversation. If they're trying to protect private medical records, they need to learn basic phone skills. When the receptionist did pick back up, she talked to me, then I answered, and she repeated the same thing she said louder, then hung up on me. I think she may have put me on mute instead of hold. I'd post names, but the office staff lacks basic phone skills and doesn't identify themselves when answering the phone. In short: the doctors are great, the nurses are great, but in the last 4-5 years, the office staff has made me rethink the 38 or so years I have been a patient of Gentry Medical Center. read more
