We thought renting a van would be the ticket, but we wanted to avoid public bathrooms. Ellis Marine ordered us a marine porta-potty, delivered in two days. Then, we had to drop that travel plan for other reasons, and again, rapidly and kindly, Ellis refunded our money and shipped the the potty back to the manufacturers. What we did: a new shaft with all it's accompanying accessories & alignment [clearly - something "got us" somewhen/somewhere]. Now, Shank's Mare is going back where she belongs; H2O. We rented bikes from Barry's over Christmas vacation. The bike's were in good condition and we had…read morea wonderful day of riding. The island is small and there are many beautiful places to see. We were able to get up close and personal to the airport and see and hear the planes take off right over our heads-very cool! We did ask for a map twice after reading that there are twenty miles of bike paths and they explained that the "bike paths" are sidewalks throughout the island. While that may be the case, it would have been nice to have a paper guide or app to show us the different options. You could ride on the beach, in parks through neighborhoods, etc. but it would have been nice to have an idea of which way to go depending on what we wanted to see. Overall, I highly recommend biking as a beautiful way to see the island!
