Then, we had to drop that travel plan for other reasons, and again, rapidly and kindly, Ellis refunded our money and shipped the the potty back to the manufacturers. As boatyards go, Brunswick Landing Marina Boatyard is as clean as any operating room. A place for everything and everything in its place made hauling our 40' trawler IdleTheme fast and efficient. We were in for bottom painting, and even before our baby was on stands, the boatyard staff was examining her to assess the extent of the job. With the bedside manner of a physician, boardyard staff laid out the work, process, and cost of the job up front. During the prepping and painting process, staff (management and the guys actually doing the work) consistently informed us of progress and provided opportunities to view and approve the work They were responsive to our questions and specific concerns about our baby. The job finished on time (looking great), and (surprise of surprises) it was UNDER budget. Short message: I was so impressed, we'll be hauling IdleTheme at Brunswick Landing Marina for hurricane season.

And while our "cruising kitty" is a wee bit lighter, we are gonna be so pretty for the fishies and confident in our equipment. We rented bikes from Barry's over Christmas vacation. The bike's were in good condition and we had…read morea wonderful day of riding. The island is small and there are many beautiful places to see. We were able to get up close and personal to the airport and see and hear the planes take off right over our heads-very cool! We did ask for a map twice after reading that there are twenty miles of bike paths and they explained that the "bike paths" are sidewalks throughout the island. While that may be the case, it would have been nice to have a paper guide or app to show us the different options. You could ride on the beach, in parks through neighborhoods, etc. but it would have been nice to have an idea of which way to go depending on what we wanted to see. Overall, I highly recommend biking as a beautiful way to see the island!
