I have been using robertsdale power equipment for 15 years with no complaints until the last year…read moreor so when there was a new owner. I am very busy as an individual know things are just not like they once were so let alot slide thay I really should not. Early this spring I took in two still chainsaws to habe tuned up and one needed a recoil replaced. I requested the call me with a quote. After a few weeks I recieved an sms that they were ready with a hefty price. 1. One saw was gutted and thown bag in the case and I was told it was unfeasable to repair when it was working fine when I took it in and 2. After replacing the bar and chain on the second saw...the recoil was still not fixed. Fine I paid and went on my way. I took the saw back two more times and rhey still never fixed the recoil, but had no problem charging me. Fine. A few weeks ago I dropped off my zero turn as I had busted a spindel on the deck. I gave them a 5 gal bucket of parts and the cushion part of the seat. Again I advised to be called with an estimate. Low and behold I get a sms with a price to pick it up. I go to the counter with the tall bald man and ask him firmly why he did not call first. He claimed it wasn't in his notes. Not wanting to argue I paid. Went to go get my mower and the nice fellow that loads them had to jump start it as it was dead. It was a brand new battery under warranty! I noticed that none of the parts were reinstalled that I left such as belt guards and no one knew where theese parts were. The mechanic in mention was on the phone for 20 min and finally came out with my bucket of parts that included parts they had charged me for. He said he would have them credited. And lectured me that a kohler engine needed a certain amount of cranking amps. Having spent over a decade as a small engine mechanic i did politley lecture him in regards to the work order. I told him i left you a mower that started and why am i paying for one that doesnt. He had zero diagnostic expereimce and claimed he could not perform a cokpression test like i asked. I asked him how coukd he in good faith return this mower to me without the belt sheilds re installed? Then he disappeared. I still could not locate my seat. When I returned to the counter, the employee that had been working in sales was lecturing other staff on how to make money from customers. Every time I complained a person at the counter would disappear to the shop. Finally what I am assuming is the owners wife called me a jerk and pysically ripped the receipt out of my hands and disappeared again. I had told her I was trying to locate my seat and the problems I was having and she insisted that I did not leave the seat with them. I told her what do I need to do make you sign a receipt or wear ago pro to prove that they did recieve the seat. After 15 more minutes some man came out in a foul mood and introduced himself as the owner and not by name followed by the owner yet again insisting that I had not left the seat with them when he had obviously not talked to any of the five people I was dealing with for over and hour. Irritated and mentally exahusted with theese bullies I simply took my recipet and on the way out was told take my business elsewhere next time by this unnamed owner. It concerns me that so many people patronize this establishment in ignorance. The demographics are sweet old men amd honest workimg latinos in rhe tree amd lawn care business that are trusting their judgment and screwed with their business scams for insane profit. I am seriously debating on weather to file a legal complaint and pursue a search warrant to locate my missing seat, however as I have no legal proof people like this get away with it. And I would be tying up much needed law enforcement that are are already stretched on more life threatening matters making me look like a trouble maker The staff gives a new definition to zero integrity as they simply cannot or will not help a customer solve a problem and merely keep quiet or disappear to the shop. Furthermore they are simply not good business people as when i got the mower home, re installed the parts that I had asked them to. The blades were dull, a few deck roller bushings could have been replaced. Had they called me like i asked and recommended this i would have been more than happy to pay. But they didnt and returned my mower in worse condition than when i left it. so much so there was just enough fuel in rhe tank to startt it. seriously? Such a strange comuntaion of cowards and bullies all under the same roof. They abuse their position of having your personal details on file as if rhey have some sort of dirt on you. Robertsdale is home to some great businesses full of integrity as are their employees. The new ownership of robertsdale power equipment is not what robertsdale or alabama stands for. They are looking to make a quick buck and con their customers. I would encourage customers to seek another service provide

I was looking for the blower locally and Was not having any luck. Then I remembered Robertsdale Power Equipment. I called them and within 10 minutes I was sold. I immediately went over there. While I was there, I mentioned a problem that I was having with my lawnmower. I told him that I took it to a place locally, and they couldn't find anything. Well Robertsdale knew exactly what my problem was and said to bring it and they would fix it under warranty. So I walked out with a new blower and scheduled appointment for my lawnmower fix. I couldn't be happier. They have tons of accessories and parts if you need them. I know for sure they carry scag, echo, stilh and a few other brands.

I was fine with that. About 3 weeks rolls by and I stop in to check on the process and was told that it needed a new carburetor and they need my approval to order the part. (They never called me to ask). I went ahead and approved the part replacement and the manager told me he was going to go ahead and order it. He told me the part should arrive and be installed in about a week. After 4 more weeks of waiting, I stopped in to the location to ask about progress. I was told the manager was out for a week and could not order it, but oddly told me he got busy and forgot to order it. He went ahead and ordered the part before I left then said it should be fixed by the following week. 2 weeks later, I called to check on progress and was told my leaf blower still isn't fixed because the wrong part keeps being sent to them. 2 weeks after that, I stopped in to ask again about progress and got told that they still can't get the right part sent in to make the repair. At that point it has been almost 3 months and no repair made, so I asked my my leaf blower back and would pay some cost for them having to look into the issue. I got charged almost $94 dollars for labor to get my leaf blower back. I received it back in the same condition that I brought it in. The problem I have here is, it was just a leaf blower and I put way more effort in checking on it than I would have if I'd have just fixed it myself. These people were not very friendly at all and did not apologize once that this repair took so long. Not only that, but they never called me to get my approval on ordering the part, nor did they call me at all to update me. On top of that, they still charged me almost $100 dollars and my equipment still was not fixed after 3 months. I also reached out to the owners about my issue and was ignored. I do not recommend this business at all. Please do not support them.

On Monday July 31st 2017. My riding lawnmower experienced a mechanical issue. I called sumrall…read more(since it was still under warranty and was purchased there). They were hesitant about receiving the mower but finally agreed. I delivered the mower later that afternoon (at about 1300). They told me they would take a look at it and get back with me by the next morning. I asked them to not do any work until they contacted me. I thought I left the mower in good hands. I did not hear anything until I called them the following Wednesday. I spoke with Josh who told me that someone had tampered with the mower and that a specific part does not just fall out on its own. His accusations went on to inform me that I owed nearly $500 in parts and labor (original purchase price was approx. $1700 with only approx 51 hours total on the mower). After I insisted that I want a warranty claim opened, he reluctantly agreed. Moments later he said the company's warranty system was down and to call tomorrow. Frustrated, I called later the next afternoon (Thursday). Josh informed me that the system was still down and to call back Friday. At this point I called the manufacturer (Husqvarna) and they told me that they are sending me to a different service center ( trouble ticket 170803-003843). I called Sumrall back and told them I was coming to pick up the mower and going to a different certified repair facility. I was then told that I would be charged a "check-out" fee. I arrived and the manager Kevin then built an invoice stating that I owed the approximately $72 for the "checkout fee". I asked to speak with him privately and he said it made no difference and I chose to state that the manufacturer was sending me to another service center. Further I never agreed to any charges or fees and he said that a verbal agreement was good enough (to which I never agreed to any service or fee verbally or otherwise). I asked him to return my mower to avoid litigation. He ended the conversation by telling me to "get out of here" and closed by saying " you started this and I am ending this here and now". The manufacturer had been notified again and Husqvarna agreed to pay the "fee" in order to keep the customer happy while they look into it. As a footnote neither Kevin nor Josh even knew what style of mower was brought in i.e. Conventional riding or zero turn. Obviously no diagnostic was actually done. $35 in parts later the mower is fixed no thanks to Sumrall. I highly recommend Husqvarna but NOT Sumrall. Go up the street and the friendly folks in Wiggins will take care of you. Please see the MS Better Business Bureau complaint #12309052 for more information and resolution. Please spread the Bad word about these unscrupulous business practices and the attempt Sumerall makes to take advantage of the customer. You have been warned. Good luck!
