When we entered The Patron Barber, hubby's beard was longer and way out of control sticking out the sides like filled up squirrel cheeks; he had cut {sigh} his mustache in a weird way; and, hair on top was "interesting" with all kinds of spikes, curls, etc. So, the 'before' picture is actually looking somewhat groomed. Chris made me a great mug of coffee to enjoy while he started hubby on a new journey to look perfected. The whole vibe at Patrons is wonderful. The music had me humming, while I watched Chris work magic. Well over an hour was spent, with each snip to ensure hubby would leave looking sharp and with a promise that some of those homemade mistakes could be fixed over the next few visits. The best part? Hubby totally enjoyed the pampering, getting to know Chris, and the final look. He came away with an understanding of what an expert cut would do for him. And, he's looking forward to returning! Snuck me in as a walk-in between two appointments. No salesman sheen on anyone's faces, just genuine welcome without all the extra niceties. They still use an old register not hooked up to any WiFi or computer or Bluetooth. They only accept cash or... check! Some may say outdated, I say refreshing and much needed relaxed paced small town feel. Such a treat to escape the high-tech, sterile world we are all living in these days. I almost forgot the old school Mr Coffee machine and cookies out for visitors, with the beetles playing between radio announcers just above the hum of conversations ... Got my cut with Cal. Price was $30 which was $25 less than my current guy so I decided to give it a try. I kept it simple and told him to do a taper on the sides and back while leaving the length on top. He did exactly as asked and took his time doing it. Would definitely go back. My only issue was with the place as it wasn't very inviting. I came in and there were no other customers as it was the middle of the day. Three people were seated off in the corner watching TV and it wasn't even clear who worked there and who didn't. No one got up when I entered and so I was left to figure out for myself who to even talk to. Later the owner came in and you can tell wasn't happy with the TV watching. At least one person has to be working the door for when people come in.

I also notice that Mr. B cuts a lot of different hair types and styles (I walk past his shop everyday). He is located in the skyway level of the Alliance Bank Center.
