Even though I'm a girl and have no place being in a barbers (unless I had a son I guess) I want to review George's Barber Shop. The reason - because it's a local hangout for the dudes of the hood (otherwise known as any male residing in North Sydney). It's an institution in the sense that it's been here a long time and men come here to chat. It's next door to a coffee shop and I was watching one day as George (I'm only guessing) nattered to the Dad's with their kids, came out every 5 minutes to check out the street (or get some fresh air... or move his limbs... who knows why old George moves around so much). I love the blue themed postcards covering the wall. I love being a woman but sometimes when I walk past George's place I want to know what it's like on the other side. read more
