He assisted me by getting the guitars off the wall and removing the string guards (due to covid so they can wipe them down after showing). I picked out an Ibanez semi-hollow that was inexpensive but played very nicely. Here's where the encounter became great though - About a week later Jack called me to thank me for my business. He remembered what we discussed during my visit and made my purchase feel special. I was truly impressed that I got a phone call about my inexpensive purchase and felt like a valued customer. This is why I will always visit Georges music for my needs. It's the value as a customer that I feel when buying at a smaller music store rather than a chain or online. Thanks Guys!

I got fantastic service at West Chester Music Store…read more I brought my Ernie Ball bass in this had an electronic issue. I first took it to Guitar Center where they misdiagnosed the issue as a bad preamp. The guys at West Chester Music correctly diagnosed the issue as a disconnected battery terminal and had it fixed within 24 hours. This was huge as I was on a time crunch getting the bass back The price was fair, the service was done well, and the turnaround time was absolutely amazing. Got a little delayed because of the snow storm, but they got it done. Didn't test it out at the store because I was short on time, but got home and hooked it up... sounded great. Before picking it up the technician (luthier) gave me a call and explained the issue he found. Was honest - he told me that there was a loose connection on the preamp board which is potted. He said he drilled out the connection but could not re-solder the wire. He said that the bass will need to have the board replaced at some point. Maybe years or maybe weeks.... but it is working. I know that intermittent issues in any electronics are hard to find, especially when potted under epoxy. The store is a little quirky and crowded with product, but they did a great job. Looked around a bit - they have a huge selection of guitar strings, amps and pedals... new and used. Al, I'm guessing, took the time to walk around with me, pointing out product, talking with me about the basses he had, the email group they managed. They gained a customer.

I'm sorry to write this because they are a small business and have other great reviews. I left a…read moreclarinet at Clemmers in June 2024 for an estimate because it was given to me for my son to start playing in fourth grade in September. In August I stopped by Clemmers in person because I couldn't reach anyone by phone for a while or leave a message. The clarinet had lost the claim ticket and instead of an estimate, it was repaired. It is a Selmar instrument. My end of the claim ticket states after 60 days the store can keep the instrument. I paid $375 for repadding and repairs. The mouthpiece was missing so I returned to Clemmers and they gave me a Bundy mouthpiece with a bent ligature. In February when my son added private lessons in addition to group school lessons the teacher said the keys where not making full contact with the body of the instrument. I took it for an assessment in Pottstown and was told the pads were the wrong size and it was not aligned. I wrote to the owner of Clemmers with this information from the second assessment and left my cell number, email address and home address and no one contacted me. Today I had a few minutes so I stopped by on my way home from work and spoke with the owner. He said I should have brought the instrument back and the person who repaired it the second time was not certified to repair it like his wife is. He said she is one of only 24 people people certified in woodwind repairs. So he cant do anything. Which is probably right. Be careful. My interaction with Clemmers was awful starting when I dropped the instrument off for an estimate.

I have been playing stringed instruments for about 20+ years. I'm self taught and mediocre at best,…read morebut I love to play and find myself "stuck" some times and need some help pushing through challenges that I find. To resolve this, I take lessons from a local instructor for a few weeks. As I have said, I've been doing this for 20+ years. I have also lived in many different cities and states, so I have had a lot of different instructors. With all of that said, I have to say that Chet Makowski is my absolute favorite instructor. He got what I was doing and why. He he showed me that music theory is not as mysterious as so many instructors claim. After four Saturdays, I was able to go back to my band and have my improvement recognized by the other guys. I was able to stay better in key and improvise more smoothly. Chet understands that as an adult I have responsibilities and commitments and sometimes I just don't have time to practice. He doesn't judge, and doesn't admonish. Granted, with the style of classes we had together, there really weren't rigid practice assignments that could be defined. I would recommend Chet very highly. The school is just as comfortable and welcoming. It makes for a great learning environment.

These are true Professionals who have made learning FUN!…read more My son has been a student of Chet for many years..He has learned to play and most important, always looks forward to his next lesson. Chet keeps the learning process fun, my son has learned the chords, theory, etc. that make a good guitarist, but unlike my music education, they would immediately apply the knowledge to a song, something current that he could relate too..This is so very different from going up and down scales and just playing meaningless chords, as was done "back in the day" and probably is still the norm in many places..All that info has stuck with my son and he (as are we) is delighted that he can actually play along with something that he may have on his portable player- from my observation, this technique seems to keep the boredom out of music school and keeps the interest and attention focused..and practicing is no longer dull! My son has also attended their summer music camp, which he really enjoyed!!. All I can say is that my son will be going to college next year, he will take his guitar with him, and he will probably enjoy playing for himself and others. Playing music is something one is able to do for most of their lifetime, it's a great outlet and balance from the day-to-day "stuff". It has had a really positive affect on our son!!!! We thank Chet profusely for this!! As far as I know, various strings, keyboards and drums are offered. There may be other types of instruments as well as voice, as well.. Obviously, we have only the highest recommendation for Harcum Music School!!!

I can't be more happy and thankful for all the diligence and creativity put into the lessons. The teachers are all extremely friendly and helpful. We have always been treated like family from the moment we started. The most impressive part of this studio is the heart and soul put into the kids helping them find what they love in their music. The recitals with all the kids rock!!! It gives the kids a chance to shine celebrating their hard work! Love It!
