I checked out the website and saw that they charge $30 for a set up which is very reasonable. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I even got a tour with Matt and it was great talking about music and all. They have lots of really nice guitars and artwork. It's a very comfortable environment and no pressure to buy anything. He didn't seem interested in anything I had to say about the condition of the guitar...I was deemed guilty of neglect. Although I am not an instrument repair person, I have been playing for over 40 years and know a bit about the care of instruments. He gave me three different repair scenarios ranging from extremely minor to ripping out the frets, re-planing the fretboard and of course a re-fret. But I was also told that he is not taking on any new work at the moment (fair enough). I immediately upon leaving took the guitar to a guitar builder in Reigelsville Pa. and was told that a $40.00 fret dress to allieve the sharp fret edges was all that was required. No neck issues. Plain and simple, I did not feel very welcome at Mike's store.
