Excellent service by young and enthusiastic waitresses. The young man who served us at the counter was also very pleasant. All the staff enjoyed a good banter and a joke. The food was outstanding. The Greek cakes reminded me of Ackland Street in Melbourne and the treats my Turkish good friend used to cook for me. Up until now no one could better her cakes/ biscuits. A disappointing experience. The service was slow. Waited 15 minutes for the server after being seated in an area with bad ventilation. Another 15 minutes to get the drinks and additional 30 minutes to get the appetizers. We were done with the drinks by the time we got the appetizers. This place was packed and the four of us arrived without a booking. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. The service was excellent and we had just the one waiter who was easy to flag down. Plenty of water at the table and plenty of choice for the meals. I had fish of the day with prawns and was able to choose the fish. It was a little overdone but edible. I had not realised that this is a chain until I visited another town in the mountains and saw exactly the same restaurant facade. I did have a turkish coffee (turkish in a greek restaurant and greek coffee in a turkish restaurant...go figure) It was good too. Popped in here on a Saturday night as my local friend had wanted to check the place out. Greek / seafood inspired menu - sounds good to me. No tables were available so we were seated in the couch area with a menu and we perused them while sipping on wine. The hardest part was deciding, as everything sounded rather delicious and the prices were pretty reasonable for a beach-side restaurant. Avocado Seafood was very pleasing, as was the calamari entree. That may have been the freshest most tenderest calamari I have ever had. The mains were great also, I was a bit more envious of my friend's eye fillet compared to my barramundi main. It is clear to me now that my drinking team has a golf problem. Thankfully I got held up and was last to get to Coolangatta for the annual golf trip. Rocky Todd and Mark had settled in nicely at the surf club, for five hours. A few quiet ones and we were off to George's for dinner. Fresh oysters Moreton Bay bugs calamari - the classic stuff. Heard Todd say one word all night 'Souvlaki' but he got it right which was pretty impressive. He has now played in first grade with Mark and Rocky - two world class drinkers. Wow what a shame, the restaurant has beautiful ambiance and a great location but the food is just awful. The food was on the table within 5mins of ordering, this was the first sign that no heart went into it and it must have come straight out of a packet. The food 1. Calamari FROZEN pre battered crap. 2. Octopus is only good when it's fresh. This stuff was chewy/rubbish and there was loads of it, I honestly think it must be cheap and they just put it on the platter to fill a space. 3. Tinned Dolmathes what can I say. 4. Souvlaki with no seasoning. 5. Side Greek salad was over seasoned and salty. 6. Iv never had haloumi like it, it tasted so bland. Not sure how you mess up haloumi but they managed it some how. 7. Spanakopita overcooked dry and bland, obviously been reheated in the microwave before going on the plate. The best bit was the olives. Should have just stayed at home. Feel robbed. I expressed my dissatisfaction of the food to the waiter and I was just brought the bill. No apology or discount was made. I would not recommend this place to anyone, it was supposed to be one of the better restaurants in Coolangatta next time I will just get a macca's atleast there you know it's going to be rubbish before you go in. read more

Used to be our favourite eatery on the coast but after last night no more. My lemon sole was overdone my wife's Barra had no sauce and the taste was plain the grilled octopus was overdone an overcharred generally the standard had fallen an the Greek guy who was in the kitchen in past years was not present not recommended hope the other locations are up to standard. read more

14.12.2017. Again Blainy & I venture south of Surfers to this Greek seafood place.We had to wait for about 20mins for our table. We both ordered the lobster with verges.Well what can I say.Under $100 for the 2of us, it's really good value.Plus the meal was fabulous. read more

This restaurant is centrally located at Coolangatta and is popular. They don't take bookings and the line to get a table is often long. If you like seafood stodge, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for some good fresh seafood, go elsewhere. Seeking some retro, I ordered Oysters Kilpatrick. They came overloaded with a heavy tomato filling. Any presence of oyster, Worcestershire Sauce or bacon were overwhelmed by the chunky tomato paste. The whole sole was served with chips and two pieces of droopy broccolini. The fish stuck to the bone and the flesh had to be scraped off forcibly. Overcooking, over-freezing or both, I wasn't sure. Not a great experience. My partner enjoyed her saganaki and spanakopita. Mud cake and lemon meringue pies for desert were ok. The coffee was great! read more
