I have been going to Georgetown medical about 8 years. The doctors are great but reception area is horrible. The staff (some not all) are ignorant. When I call they are always in a hurry and do not listen to me situation clearly. There is one person in particular I wish they would get rid. (Not sure if I can mention names). There is a girl working in the office behind the glass sliding doors named Billie who has a terrible tone of voice. The way she speaks is flippant and condescending. If you question what she's saying she gets all in a tizzy, an angry tizzy. Her voice become faster and louder. She doesn't make eye contact when she is speaking that way. And if you really make her mad, she runs back to Dr. Helou who then tells her to tell the patient they can't be seen today or ever. You are kicked out of the office. When trying to ask questions after that statement she yells "I don't care" followed by flipping the bird at me, that's right, she stuck her middle finger up at me. This behavior is abhorrent and "Billie" should be fired free today.But Dr. Helou, obviously, enables her. 000 Stars. read more

Billie (The Practice Manager)... VERY RUDE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I am a medical assistant at another office, and I contacted this practice for assistance with a patient, she stated to me "I don't know why your calling me, we are not a emergency room nor a walk in" As an office manager it is okay to be rude with a college while trying to assist a patient for patient care. I called back to see if I could speak with the provider and Roxy (the front desk receptionist) had me on speaker with Billie in the background overtalking me. If I could give this place a ZERO it would be a compliment. Office staff is rude and they are either not trained properly or simply incompetent. The final kicker was when I was contacted by the office to reschedule my appointment because the doctor was not going to be there that day, only to discover that they FOGOT to put me in on the day the NEW appointment was scheduled. So after driving close to 40 minutes 1way in beach traffic I arrive at said time only to be told they didn't have me scheduled. But no worries they'd get me seen. 2 hours later I was still waiting in the room still not called into the back! I finally told the receptionist that I couldn't wait any longer since I had to get to work. Needless to say that after that, they were unwilling to fill my (non controlled) prescription since I cancelled my appointment. Whether I'm ill or not they needed me to see the doctor every six months. Each time I see the doctor it's $75 (my copay) not including any unnecessary tests they decide to throw in for the fun of it. When I called to schedule an appointment, I was asked "do u want it or not?) by the scheduler. Well, I ended up finding another doctor that's closer in proximity to my home after that response but they couldn't see me for almost a year. Soooo... I call to have my records transferred to my new doctor and I'm told I either need to come into the office to sign the correct paperwork or I could wait to sign the necessary documents at my new doctor(thank goodness I saved the voice mail). Of course I have to wait a day for them to leave such message which is typical. So I ended up driving 30 minutes to sign such papers per voice mail because I wanted my new doctor to have all of my information for my first visit. That was a Friday. Well, the following Monday I get a letter via snail mail that they want $100 to transfer my records! Nowhere in the voice mail or in the office was this even mentioned. To top it off, they blocked me from accessing my records on their Healow portal application. I've never been so poorly treated by anyone in the healthcare field as I was in this practice. Technically since they won't transfer my records, I'm still their patient so why delete my access? I currently have call into the insurance commissioner. read more

The receptionist by the name of Amy's attitude is disgusting. She stated that she worked at this location for 17 years yet her customer service techniques need much improvement. Her demeanor causes patients to get upset then she would wonder why patients would leave this establishment. She would talk down to the patients; ask them questions and cut them them off while they would try to answer her questions. Very ignorant and immature. read more

This place is horrible. I went in with a upper respiratory infection only to be told they don't know what it is and prescribed allergy meds that didn't work the first 3 times I went to the doctors. The best part is while I was explaining my symptoms and telling her why it couldn't be "just" allergy's the doctor talked over me and wouldn't listen at all to what I had to say. I was told to come back in a month .... yeah right. Not the first time this place has been disgustingly rude. This place is a joke. read more

Do not go to this office. My family member was mis-diagnosed and nearly died due to incompetent doctor. Always had problem with office send over incorrect prescriptions or not sending them at all (we would call several times and finally after a week, the prescription refill would be sent to the pharmacy). Tried to sue the office but Delaware is a friendly state for doctors but not for patients AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My husband and I are the Patients for Georgetown Medical Associates for long time now. On the Nov /17 / 2017 I went to see DR.Rita Meadows. Of Couse before I go I made Appointment just for her. Then I got the conform that I can come in after 4pm on Nov/ 17 . When I sign in I put 'no change' for Dr.Rita too. After I went to the room I saw an other Dr. I went back to the counter to asked: when Dr.Rita is available. They told me until next year. so I have no choice. Because the infection, pain and Swelling on my face. I can wait but not that long. In the end they did not give enough and right medicine. They just want me to pay for check-in and refer me to an other doctor. Now my face more swelling and pain. Today ( Nov 28) when I called again. They told me that, I can come in to see Dr. Rita. My points are : 1) When I called why they didn't tell me Dr.Rita not available? 2) Why they told me Dr. Rite not available until next year? 3) Why they refer me to an other doctor when I still have infection? Because their mistakes my face more pain and Swelling. I just don't think this is the way to treat a human being. Specially when they feel ill already. read more
