I am a 27 year old non-traditional college student...or as what I like to call; a "second chance' student. I first attempted school in 2008 - 2011 at a big university and didn't do so well. Took time off and 4 years later I decided to come back, but this time I came to GMC. I couldn't be any happier with my decision. The small class sizes and friendly professors has made this a smooth transition for me. The motto "Start here, go anywhere" is accurate, I finished my core classes and graduated with my Associates degree in Business Administration in May and will be attending Augusta University in the fall. All of my classes have successfully transferred and I am set to graduate with my Bachelors degree in less than 18 months. I am thrilled! Hello everyone! I am currently finishing up my final quarter at GMC. These last two years have been amazing! I am a non-traditional student and I was terrified to go back to school after 17 years. However, the environment at GMC made me feel like I was exactly where I belonged. I will be receiving my pre-nursing degree and have been accepted into the nursing program at USC Aiken. The current Director fired the only administrator that actually cared about the staff, the faculty and the students. The director sits behind closed doors most of the time and is fake with students, staff and faculty. This school will never be the same without the great lady they fired. She is dealing with her son's stage IV cancer and with her own medical issues, but she always came in everyday, before anyone else and gave us all hope and smiles. read more

Being on the quarter system, I am only 2 quarters away from earning my Associates of Science. My wife encouraged me to come back to school and I'm happy I took her suggestion. I had never been a great high school student. When I decided to go to college, I was nervous, but the faculty at GMC encouraged me and cheered for me. I graduated with honors from GMC, which was a complete turn around from the terrible high school student I had been. When I was in high school I was worried about going to college because my teachers always told me that college professors would not care about our learning experience but that is not the case at Georgia Military College!!
