This building has been around since 1835, with the focus primarily being medical (hence the name). The nod to Greek architecture is astounding and the team who manage it are helpful in every way. The space is now available for rental and I found myself there for a wedding (in the role of officiant). I wandered around (since I have plenty of free time before ceremonies begin) and found where they store the various tables and chairs. I also saw the separate spaces that can be used for dressing rooms or dining areas. Gorgeous! The tall ceilings and intricate detail demand that you take a selfie. Recently my sister was married here. She also held her reception here. I absolutely love the space. It's on the National Registry of Historic Places, so it has all the charm one would need. There is exposed brick, columns, a winding staircase and plenty other beautiful features. It has a great location on Telfair Street. The gates and the stone pathway as you walk up are great. The parking is tricky. You can park on the street and there is a small lot behind the building, but if you're expecting a large crowd they're sure to complain. However, directly across from the venue is the City's municipal building with plenty of parking. Also, downstairs are bathrooms and a dressing room. We used it to get ready. The venue also has a kitchen for caterers use and service elevators. Overall, great venue. Visit it anytime because it has lots of history too.

With 230 students per class, the Medical College of Georgia's total enrollment is the 10th-largest among our nation's 141 accredited medical schools. MCG refers to only the College of Medicine, not the hospitals, clinics, etc. It is an exciting place to be at, and in my opinion a very important part of this state and the Augusta community.

The curriculums are not well thought out, lessons are not tailored to the classes needs, exams often test on materials that were not covered by the course, and there is a lack of proofreading at every turn. Every course attended seemed to be purposefully overwhelming, and, instead of adequately preparing the students, was rushed and ill-prepared.

My daughter accompanied me in the ambulance to Augusta U Hosp ER that afternoon. CT scans verified the extent of the injury. Sometime around midnight, after many hours of exams and waiting, one of the residents told my daughter I needed to be admitted for surgery the next day. Because she had work, my daughter left and went home at around 1 a.m. She was told she could come back the next day to see me after the surgery. But then at around 4.30 a.m., a tech came in and put a temporary cast on my leg. I was told there were no beds and I was being discharged. "How?" I asked. "I have no transportation. How will I get home on my own?" A nurse got me some crutches, accompanied me out to the waiting room and said, "You can call Uber." Literally, I was left to my own devices. The grumpy late-night Uber driver saw me struggling to navigate on the crutches, but wouldn't budge her position, far away from the doorway of the ER. It was not a great experience. The kicker: I got no callback from the medical center to schedule my surgery or even for a follow-up to see a surgeon. The only way I was seen by calling repeatedly. When finally I met the surgeon, he was outraged that I had not been immediately admitted. The bones did not heal well and now I need an ankle joint replacement. We should be able to expect better from our medical providers.

Bad bad bad!!! I paid $1,700 for three dental implants and…read morewas later informed that I needed a sinus lift before the implants could be placed. Since I needed one implant on one side and two on the other, I was told I would need two separate sinus lift procedures, each requiring anesthesia. At my first appointment, I was put under anesthesia and underwent the procedure. When I woke up, my mouth was swollen and sore, only to be told that they were unable to complete the sinus lift because of an issue related to my bone structure. I asked whether this could have been identified during the X-rays or evaluation beforehand, and I was told it could not. What was most frustrating was learning that I would have to heal and then come back to attempt the procedure again--with no guarantee that the outcome would be any different. Despite the sinus lift not being completed, I was still charged for the procedure. It's difficult to understand how I can go in for a procedure, leave swollen and recovering, have the intended treatment not accomplished, and still be expected to pay the full cost. Between the time off work, the anesthesia, the recovery, and the uncertainty of having to repeat the process, this experience felt like a waste of both my money and PTO. I initially chose this option to save money, but now it feels like I may end up spending just as much as I would have with a more experienced provider. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Sometimes the cheaper option is not the better option.

There is lots of treadmills, cardio machines, a track, a basketball court, a full weight room and a second floor of free weights, and many group fitness classes.
