My 89 year old father was referred to this practice by his GP. The visit with the doctor went very…read morewell and I thought Dr. Jones was very caring and professional. The staff there needs retraining. The nurse was told to order the MRI for my dad as urgent and she did not so I was not able to schedule it for 2 days then Wellstar demanded an additional 5 for insurance approval, which was not required as I had already contacted insurance. I left a message on the portal, it was ignored. I called the nurse called back saying she made an error. She reordered the MRI as urgent and I immediately got it scheduled, 2 days behind what the doctor ordered. The next day the office called to cancel my appointment (that Dr. Jones said was urgent), because they needed Dr. Jones to handle another patient. I was told this patient was a "big thing". My Dad is also a "big thing". I spoke with the office manager who assured me we would see Dr. Jones but a bit later than scheduled. Meanwhile Dr. Jones was trying to help my Dad. He reviewed the MRI and consulted with other doctors. He called me (not my communication preference on the portal) and told me NOT TO COME IN for my appt but to see a surgeon he had spoken to. I did not get this voicemail. The appointment was not cancelled, I brought my 89 year old father back down there and waited an hour. No one told me we weren't even seeing the doctor. No portal message, no text (preferred method of communication), no email and no notice when we checked in and waited an hour. I spoke to 2 more people who run the practice. One was very kind and one was defensive. I was upset and explained that Dr. Jones went above and beyond but I had 4 unanswered messages in the portal over a week's time, no one in the office cancelled the appointment as Dr. Jones requested and then I was spoken to quite rudely by a manager. So, look elsewhere and save yourself some grief.

They could not be more caring, welcoming or interested in doing whatever is necessary for optimal results; all this with a bedside manner that's beyond reproach. I am now walking and functioning better than ever thanks to their expertise, tenacity, professionalism and skill. And while their skillset in conventional, socket mounted prosthetics is clearly unsurpassed, they are the only facility in the south that I know of who are experts in the field of osseointegration (OI), which I underwent in 2021. This nascent procedure is performed only by a handful of surgeons in the world and managed by even fewer prosthetists. The mounting hardware is unique as well as the attach point coming out of my femur, but leave it to GP to become totally familiar with all aspects of this architecture. They have provided me with attachments that have greatly improved my quality of life and recently repaired the attachment mechanism that comes out of my bone after a fall.
