Today's field trip to Georgie's Paradise was spectacular! I was greeted by gentleman with a green shirt and answered a few questions as to which type of plants I was looking for, and my journey began. The place is absolutely beautiful! All the plants are healthy, thriving, and luscious. I immediately thought... This is going to be expensive boy was I wrong, I ended up getting a plethora of plants, including a ginger plant, and Monstera, a small kettle chip looking plant possibly a jade, a thriving burgundy vine and much more and spent only about $60. If you are looking for plants you need to come to this section of Krome Avenue in the Redlands. There is an amazing amount of plant nurseries concentrated in this area. Some of the nurseries have added food, animals, and attractions, so it is really fun to come out and explore here. Georgie's Paradise is located towards the end of the strip of nurseries. It is really huge and it looks like it goes on for a mile. I couldn't even walk back that far. Trees ornamental and fruit, plants full sun or shade, flowers. orchids, cactus, they have it all. At Georgie's you can get help directly from the owner, Sandra Sauma. The array of plants is really amazing. They also have a cute monkey theme throughout the nursery owing to Bella the capuchin monkey. There is a very nice monkey topiary over a koi pond. When it is time to spruce up your outdoor space come to Georgie's where you will find great service, selection, and prices. read more

Beautiful nursery!! Pretty much any plant you're looking for they will have. Full sun, shaded, indoor...they have everything! Lots of gorgeous floral plants for your butterfly garden, beautiful vines, fruit trees, small plants for your garden... Definitely worth the visit! I've gone a few times and have always been happy with my purchases. Plants have thrived in my garden! And the staff is incredible friendly. This is one of two of my go to nurseries in Homestead. LOVED this place! There are many nurseries on Krome Ave. This is far the best one I visited. Large selection of plants. Mia is very responsive, worked well while trying to help as many customers at same time. She made sure you got what you needed. Price was honored from previously discussed. I almost gave it 3 starts, the other lady (don't know her name) working with Mia on Saturday 6/27 made a comment that if I am getting the plant at this price$, what do I expect to get? ....She actually misunderstood my question, but that was the response I received. I do expect to get the best quality plants at the best price, that's why I still gave this place 5 stars! and will go back! read more

I heard about Georgie's Paradise from my brother who recently bought flowers and plants for his new garden here. He purchased some lemongrass for its mosquito repelling qualities as well...which is where I got the idea of building a lemon grass fortress around my house to try to control the South Florida mosquito and bug situation this summer. We came by on a Saturday morning. They are located right on Krome Avenue, with plenty of parking available right in front along the street. The staff is really knowledgeable and great at helping you figure out which kinds of plants/flowers will work for your project. I purchased several large (1 gal) lemon grass plants for $3 each. Just yesterday I saw really small, sad lemongrass plants at Home Depot for just under $7. Their prices are FANTASTIC. Especially when compared to places like Lowes or Home Depot. Easily half the price for plants/flowers that are double the size. The variety available has me wanting to go back for more. read more

Okay, let's talk about Georgie's Paradise. This Labor Day weekend I went by on Saturday to get some Podocarpus for our backyard hedge. When I walked in I was blown away by all the quantity and quality they had. I left with 50 Podocarpus and couldn't resist but buy at least 10 more indoor and outdoor plants. Let's just say my new prayer plants are a staple in my living room right now. RUN do not walk to this beautiful nursery to satisfy all of your plant needs. Whether it is a plant for your windowsill or an accent piece for your backyard. I already went back for more this morning!! read more

I found the plant I was looking for asked her how much she said 10$. Come to the window she upped it to 15$, I clarified she said I know my plants. My husband and I heard her and saw the price by the plants. No need to waste time clarifying because she's dishonest can't fight dishonesty. It's a shame. Go across the street more plants, cheaper and better service. read more

Great place to find plants for your home. Wide selection and good customer service. All kinds of plants like succulents, fruit trees, decorative plants for a flower garden, palm trees and just about anything else you can think. I was thrilled to find my bacon avocado there, which is a gorgeous tree that gives a small avocado similar to the Hass avocado. You will love this nursery. read more

With so many nurseries in the Redlands it's not easy to know which ones are worth visiting. Last weekend we stopped at Georgie's for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by what we found. I heard about Georgie's from a neighbor, said they had good orchids so I went to see the nursery. I should have left the minute I saw that the owner seemed totally out of it. She started helping us and the next thing I know she was gone. Unfortunately I did not listen to myself and kept shopping even though I was a little annoyed at the fact that she just dropped me like a hot potato. Well I ended up buying 13 small plants and spend around $80. Today I called her because a week after I bought the plants 5 of them died, her answer is what do you want me to do I am not Home Depot. Incredible, she might not be home depot but you would think she stands behind her product. Actually tried blaming me for not knowing how to water my plants, I told her I have a sprinkler system that goes on early morning every day and had not issue with the other 8 plants I bought. Refused to change the plants and told me in so many words to bad so sad. Needless to say I will not be doing business at Georgie's and I will make sure my neighbors and friend know how little customer service they offer. I should have taken the hint when 3 the customers walked out for lack of attention from the owner. read more
