Tomato, Swiss chard, basil, fennel, Cuban oregano, cucumbers, lemon balm, nasturtiums plus flowers for my pollinators

I purchased the 4" x 8" raised garden bed with custom blended soil and seasonal plants from Little River Cooperative and am so very pleased with my garden. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Within 3 hours I had a new raised garden with over 30 seasonal plants. . I was able to immediately pick greens for salads and within a two weeks had stir fry vegetables . The garden is a gift that keeps on giving- fresh salad greens every day since the installation ( 2 months) I highly recommend Little River Cooperative for all your gardening needs

Truly cool edible garden Definitely had a laid back and welcoming feel to it. Staff are sweet and in true compliance with coronavirus rules. Only 4 people allowed in at a time and masks are a must right now. Once inside your offered a tray to put your items in to make shopping easier and lighter. Inside they have a mass variety of cool herbs, spices, soil, seeds and plants. They also give tips and even build and teach how to maintain gardens. Curbside and online ordering is also available. Saw garlic chives which are delish, spinach. bok choi, a variety of mustard greens, chard, kale, basik, mint, spearmint, etc. The variety just goes on and on. They had numerous variety of hot pepper to my delight. I was shopping for scotch bonnet pepper specifically and found they had a variety of hot pepper to choose from. Happy with my plant I paid and saw they had seeds, and natural sponges for sale (plant was there for pur hase as well). Curbside is also available and convenient but this place I feel you should get put and check it out. Might may you catch a green thumb. I have now subscribed to their mailing list to keep track of their happenings including online how to's. Love what their doing within this community and out reaching to more.

Great selection of herbs and veggies at an affordable price! Love the exhibit gardens so they can show you (beginners like me) what a real garden can look like. They offer workshops through out the year. I decided to attend one and learned lot and to top it off the class fee included making and taking home a seed starter kit of 50 plants!!! Win-win.

After reading great reviews, I decided to pay Richard Lyons Nursery a visit and was glad I did. The property is a little tricky to find and from the street doesn't look that big, but once you enter, you will see the outside looks are deceiving. This place is packed with all sorts of ornamentals, fruit trees and other types of plants. After choosing several plants and having the sales ticket written up, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was only $40. Had I gone to another place in Kendall or a major retailer, I would have paid much more. I will definitely be back for more.

We first discovered Lyons in our search for rare Atala butterflies to augment the population at our house... the folks at Montgomery botanical center had recently brought a population of Atala caterpillars to feed on Lyons sizable coontie selection. We were lucky to get a coontie with freshly laid eggs... that was in late September, and they emerged from their cocoons today (late October). They have a wonderful selection of butterfly larval and nectar plants. They have both local and exotic plants also including bamboo, heliconia, and more. When you arrive, park a short way in... a siren will announce your presence, and you'll soon be met by a guide in a golf cart. We've been four times so far, and each time we go we've discovered a new area, and new plants. As you wander around, make sure you look at the amazing mature specimens that dot the property.... such an amazing variety... it rivals a botanical garden!

Beautiful almost white pea sized gravel and gorgeous plants and plantings everywhere (in&out). There's a false front (western style of the 1800's with a drugstore front on the left and a mercantile on the right, done in galvanized metal. Then you walk in and find yourself in a tremendous space offering a corridor of potted gardens leading you along to three spaces, one on the right for dining suited with picnic tables sporting tablecloths, enough seating for 85+. There's also a smoothie bar featuring blender drinks and nonalcoholic beers. At the center of this space, straight ahead is a mechanical bull upon a platform, with inflated walls and floor. There's someone to run that. There's another 2 areas to the left with several round tables for 20-40 others. Then there's the stuff for kids and more kids. Every kind of game for 2-12 yo kids, from little Jenga blocks, small & big trucks & excavators, playgrounds lg and sm, just all kinds of stuff everywhere, along with little picnic tables and small tables & chairs. Finally, at the back of the property are the animals. By the way the food is fantastic and not expensive and there's a menu for dogs too! Almost forgot, pups are welcome. Just 50' off of Krome Avenue immediately after 208th St. Check the hours first.

I loved that they had such a great Green Nursery vibe, they do sell the plants, delicious food for sale and they have animals to go View and hang out with in the back. I got the pleasure of having a passion fruit and mango smoothie reminded me of one I had in Thailand which is a big deal cuz I have yet to have found something similar. I got my breakfast and Cuban food craving fix taking care of there. The coffee both hot and ice were absolutely delicious and satisfying. The only thing I can say is when you drive in parking seems to be very bleak. But there's plenty of parking behind in a parking lot. Overall I would give this please a 5 out of 5 stars everything from Food Service ambiance and the plants were absolutely stunning. Next time I go visit Miami that will definitely have to be a trip on my agenda.

Because if you write The Heavenly Garden on your Google Maps app, you will end up on the other side of Homestead, looking at various mansions. Not even kidding. That being said, given that this is being written on Yelp, I trust you won't have the adventure my girlfriend and I did trying to find this sanctuary of orchids and succulents among many other treasures. Ahem. Let's see... what's there to know? Well, they have a free and immense parking lot and you can essentially spend your entire day there taking photos. I took dozens upon dozens, but I'm not bothering posting them all because I don't think that they serve this place justice. Not only is the staff following proper protocol during COVID-19, but they're kind and willing to give you a free tour. The gentleman who attended us was so friendly, but more so, he was instructive and we even learned that a particular flower had chocolate smells coming from it in the morning. Also, we learned how some orchids got their unnatural color. Specifically the blue orchid I fell in love with. I'd probably have bought one, but everything I touch dies. I don't have a green thumb whatsoever. I would, however, happily buy one for a loved one should the occasion arise.

The staff were helpful but you knew they really didn't want to deal with somebone buying one or two items. Each time I was going to buy, I was pointed to the ugly ducklings, not the nicer trees that were shown at first. Determined to purchase something after driving an hour and wanting to support them, I bought the trees anyway. I've done enough gardening to know when a nursery is trying to sell you their 2nd rate stock The staff member carefully loaded the trees into my car. The office was small but efficient. To keep the tree small both the branches and roots are pruned. Any tree can be made into a bonsai. Miami Tropical Bonsai is a nursery that sells bonsai in the Redlands area of Homestead in Southwest Dade County. According to their website the nursery is owned by Alva Hayes. They have been in business since 1987 and are one of the largest bonsai companies in the United States. They create their own pottery and have over 30,000 trees in stock. I have always loved the bonsai trees at the Morikami Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach so when I passed this nursery I stopped to see what they had. They have a pond with a small waterfall and to the left of that was a large area with bonsai trees. Some of the trees are decades old and are of subtropical and tropical varieties. One small ficus tree was $600 and another tree was several thousand dollars. I guess Mr. Miyagi and Daniel were smart to try and open that bonsai shop in Karate Kid III. I did see more affordable trees on their website. There are a lot of different kinds of plant nurseries in this part of the Redlands and this is an interesting stop if you are in the area. The Redland Ranch is just right down the street and is also worth a stop. They serve food and smoothies in a tropical setting.
