We contracted with Solart to install the solar panels on our home in Ottawa. We paid 90% of. the…read morecontract cost up front (on hindsight that was very stupid). We waited 16 months to have our panels installed, missing the first OFA deadline and after renewing the contract they just squeezed it in before the second OFA deadline. That is nearly one and a half years of our money being tied up thus reducing the return on our investment. Over a year and half the cost of solar panels have come down considerably but they refused to give us a price reduction to compensate for the delays. The only good thing I have to say about them is that they paid the monthly interest on the money that we had invested for part of the time that we were waiting to have them installed (after about 6 months of waiting). Doesn't make up for not getting a return on our money for that period of time but at least we didn't have to pay interest on it. Three months later, they still have not entered the array information in the Enphase system - this monitors the efficiency of the panels - so I still don't know if they are working properly. Solart seems to make their commercial contracts their priority, so maybe they are very good with the commercial sector but for private contracts they are not good. I would never, never do business with Solart again. There are other more reputable companies in Ottawa that install home solar panels - check them out.
