That choice can cost patients thousands of dollars but they can't be bothered even though you have to pay out of pocket. That's not something that someone does who cares about their patients. This is a practice for someone who doesn't have health insurance and wants to risk huge medical bills. But hope that you don't ever need a diagnosis code - to transfer care, to get treatment at a hospital, to go on disability - because our country uses diagnosis codes as the standard of practice, so their lack of interest in spending the time is at the expense of patient well being. Why would anyone pay for a doctor who does not care about their long term well-being or having thousands of dollars out of pocket because the provider doesn't want to learn diagnostic codes?

Kelsey, put on your 'big girl ' hat and understand when a person is sick, they might not be as pleasant as you would like and know it's not personal. I will not be labeled 'the angry black woman' or will I allow you to get away with treating me so poorly for expressing my concerns to you during an appointment, one that I quite frankly don't remember because it was insignificant. In the meantime, please seek training - in diversity and inclusion, unconscious bias and definitely, customer service. Well, my second visit was very different than my first visit. This time, I just needed something…read moreequivalent to an urgi care, and I saw that they have a walk-in appointment side to their primary care office. So I thought I would give it a try and it was a great experience. The first advantage versus a typical urgi care was that since I was already a patient, it took me maybe 30 seconds to just fill out my name and basic info. Usually, if you walk into an urgi care, you could spend 10 minutes on their paperwork. It was only 35 minutes total from the time I showed up until the time I walked out! They worked very quickly to keep the line moving! I was really impressed. Also, everyone I dealt with was really professional, friendly, and kind. The front desk guy was super nice, as was the nurse and doctor. If that had been my first experience at the practice, I would have a different overall opinion. I'm actually thinking I will stick with this office just because the urgi care experience was so nice. I hope the primary care will up their game so I could stick around in the long term. Dr. Horton was so kind! Very different bedside manner than I experienced with Dr. Brack. Maybe switching primary care doctors would do the trick for me.

The people on the phone are always helpful and kind. I never wait even five minutes in their spacious and clean waiting room. The nurses or medical assistants who take me back and triage me are always kind, as well. Once in the examination room, my wait is seldom more than ten minutes. Dr. Weaver is always so kind and welcoming. She sits and listens. She does not seem distracted, she is not busy looking at the computer or writing notes. She is compassionate and she does not judge! The reference desk is always helpful, they call to pre-cert any services Dr. Weaver sends me out of office for; and they call me to tell me what my out-of-pocket will be. There is a phlebotomist on site and there's never more than a five minute wait for blood draws. I cannot recommend her and the office more.

And, my husband changed doc offices b/c it took forever for him to get scheduled with our regular doc anymore. Once arriving, the check-in process is smooth. New patients must present ID and insurance. Once you're in the system, only an updated insurance card is needed (if applicable). Larry has a great "bedside manner," very professional and knowledgeable, but he always surprises me with his common sense. Example: I had an orthopedist tell me I'd need knee surgery soon. I told Larry, and he told me that's what they get paid for - doing knee surgeries. Larry instead gave me a three injection treatment that I've done twice now, and it helps tremendously. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience with this practice. They are Christian-based (I think) but all that's meant to me is they care about their patients. I can't recommend College Park Family Care highly enough, and I'm old enough to have had experience with *lots* of doctors. :)
