There's something odd with the custom mirror business in Toronto... when I decided to put a custom mirror, I contacted about 5~7 places (and all of them have good reviews on various platforms), most of them never replied; and some took more than a week to reply and wanted a fee just to have someone come by to take measurements. I didn't contact Gerrard during the first round, as it only had 3 on Yelp. However, it was suggested to me by my closet guy and Lowes' (I want to give kudos to Lowe's. I contacted them to see if they do custom mirror, they replied within 24 hrs, and while regrettably they no longer do, they looked up business in my vicinity and gave me suggestions. The other big names Home Depot and Rona never got back to me) Gerrard' response is still slower than I'd like but faster and more consistent in communication compared to the other companies. They sent out a guy to take measurement and was able to order the mirror right away. The missing one star is that they sometimes drop the balls on the confirmation of details and time and dates and I had to chase up on that. Come the day of installation, the workers were quick and courteous. They were careful when transporting the mirrors on the elevator. Mirrors were installed without much issue. They did their best to keep the work area tidy and put everything back as best as they could. A few days later, I noticed a screw in my closet that was drilled way past the shelf, with the sharp end protruding, prob due to the installer's drill going too powerful when they put it back. I was not upset but just wasn't sure what to do about it. I contacted Gerrard asking for suggestion, along with the picture showing the screw hanging naked out of the shelf. Within a few hours, I heard a knock, and it was the installers who came back and apologizing profusely for the mistake. They took the screw out and replaced it properly. Overall I think they try the best to satisfy customers, even if they can't get 100% right away, and that's very commendable. read more

I purchased custom sized glass shelves and cabinet door glass, before I saw the terrible reviews, so I was apprehensive when I went to pick them up. I had called and ordered a second piece of plain glass due to a mistake on my part in the original order. When I unwrapped the shelves they were fine but the extra piece was an inch too short. I sent an email that night and received a call the next day apologizing, telling me they'd immediately cut a replacement and politely asking me to return the mis-cut piece. They were friendly and courteous when I picked it up. I was taken aback at the cost and haven't compared with anyone else but in fairness I thought I should note that the service was quick and they were very easy to deal with. read more

Beware!!! I should have read the reviews!! If there was a lower review than 1 star it would still be too many. 1. They tried to overcharge me by $400. 2. They charged me over $100 do deliver something to my home when I could have easily picked it up. Told me it was a standard charge even for 1 block away 3. Whatever you do avoid this place. The most rude, condescending, ignorant people I have ever com across in business. They lied about price and get you with bait and switch tactics. They say they will get you numbers to help you install it. When I called back to find out if it can e done this week, I was told that he didn't now why I was calling. Surprised I asked if I was the person he spoke with earlier. He said yes. I said I am looking to find out when we might be able to get some help with installation. His reply was he is too busy and would get back to me when he gets to it. My reply - don't bother, I need to find someone right away. His reply - Fuck You. Not only do they lie, leave you in the lurch, do poor work (like cut the glass to too small) They tell you to fuck off when you try and spend more money to fix their mistakes. Hi I want to share a VERY unprofessional experience that I've had with Gerrard Glass. Last week, I called in a custom order for 2 vanity mirrors. I provided the specific dimensions, a credit card, and was provided back a 5-7 day timeline for delivery. On day 7, I called in requesting an update as I hadn't heard back from anyone at Gerrard Glass. The individual who helped me informed me that the woman who took my order was no longer with Gerrard Glass, and instead of helping me sort out the fact that regardless of Gerrard Glass taking my credit card, ship to information and requirements, they never placed the order with the custom manufacturer. Further to that, their employee was down right rude, blaming me for the issues rather than helping fix this. I have delayed a house appraisal that I've been waiting on, due to not having these mirrors. That is unacceptable and their staff has not done anything to fix this issue. When I requested this be fixed and Gerrard Glass to expedite an order to fix this issue, I was told no, and that I was apparently being unreasonable. This is absolutely one of the worst customer service I have EVER encountered. Further to that, I flip houses on a regular basis and will NOT be recommending Gerrard Glass to any of my projects moving forward.. The RIGHT thing to do would have been to keep the customer happy. Instead, their employee was completely unhelpful over the phone, and down right rude while addressing my concerns. Steer clear of here! I ordered a piece of mirror and a piece of glass. I asked for shiny highly polished edges as they will be exposed and visible. This was clearly marked on the orders. A week later, the orders are ready, but the edges are simply ground smooth and dusty. No shine at all. They tell me they will redo the edges as requested. A week later the edges are exactly the same. THEN THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T DO WHAT I ORDERED, AND HAVE TO SEND IT OUT, AND IT WILL COST MORE! Eventually, they did refund my money. Three employees in the store, and none were helpful, knowledgeable, or polite. The store is a disorganized mess, take this as a hint and go elsewhere. I have never written a review but feel compelled to do so this time. I have purchased many pieces of glass from Gerrard Glass because they offer one day service and they are close by. I can go elsewhere but they are close by so I'm willing to pay more. The last time I dealt with Gerrard Glass, I called a day in advance to order my glass and offered to pay for it over the phone. There happened to be no "cutters" in the store that day but in the event one came back from a job, it would be done. She was to call me later to let me know. By end of day I heard nothing so called her back where she told me that tomorrow would be best. I called in the a.m. reminded her of the size, offered again to pay for it, where she said the product would be cut immediately for pick up. 4 hours later I went for pick up only to find that the glass was not ready and they did not have the gauge I needed after confirming 2 X it was available. They offered a heavier gauge for same money and I waited. And waited. After 30 minutes, the lady came out as I was checking on my car as there is no parking in front of the store and concerned for a ticket. I asked her "is it ready yet?" She said, "I don't know, ask them" pointing to the workers in the back. After nearly 45 minutes and avoiding a parking ticket, not only was my order incorrect, they charged me for even a heavier gauge of glass than the one they offer to exchanged. I didn't even bother to mention it. I now go to Scarborough instead of 5 minutes away. The glass is cheaper, cut correctly and on time. read more

The customer service at Gerrard Glass is very unprofessional. The lady who answers the phone acts like she is annoyed that you want to give them your money for their services. They cannot be trusted with their pricing either. Last week I called for a quote for a piece of glass for a coffee table and was quoted a price. The next week I called for a quote for a SMALLER coffee table and was quoted almost 50% more than before. I will look somewhere else. read more

Very sketchy people scammers they advised they sending over a contractor to fix our mirrors the owner said it would cost $400 and when the contractors came the charged me $500 broke one of them and never heard from them. When we callback the lady was so rude she said I DONT WANT TO GIVE U THE Number so very sketchy. I then gave the owner my phone number to give to the contractor and they never called back. Beware: I ordered a replacement glass for a side table. They said it would be ready in 2-5 days. 2 weeks later still nothing. The guy said he would travk it down and call me back. No return call. On my third call back he threatened me with violence and said to come down to see what a man I was. This was followed by extremely harsh language and more threats. I'm a fairly calm guy and not easily offended but I have never in my life come across anything like this. Give this place a very big miss. Single most aggressive evil unhinged service ever'!! i am so sorry i didn't read reviews of gerrard glass at 366 gerrard street e out of 4 easy projects they screwed ever one of them up. all the wrong glass thicknesses , bad measurements and even that took a month for them to give them to me. i will never go back there again. it is the most unorganized business i have ever dealt with !!!!! 0 rating should be on the list !!! read more

I ordered a mirror with polished edges. It was done quickly but I was told to bring a blanket to wrap it in! They don't package it up for transport? No corner foam edges... Very odd. When I received the mirror it was chipped, had tiny black dots on it. The edges were not polished and the grey backing wasn't even to the edges. When I phoned, the lady told me she looked at it and there was no chip. She did not offer to redo it and showed no interest in making it right. read more

I just called Gerrard Glass to get a price for a piece of glass to go on a side table. The individual who answered my call, impatiently answered a couple of mquestions and when I asked for a price on an althernate thickness of glass the phone went dead. I called back and asked if he hung up on me and he basically told be he was too busy to answer my questions to emal and hung up again. Customer Service at its finest. read more
