After my now ex-husband discharged a firearm at me and portrayed the incident to law enforcement in a way that put the blame entirely on my response, I was charged with two felonies. Dan fought for me. One felony was dismissed, and the other was resolved as a misdemeanor with a deferred sentence, my record sealed and no fines. I wanted my day in court and for the truth to come out. Dan asked me to be pragmatic and explained honestly that a trial would be extremely expensive and put my fate in the hands of 13 people, while the resolution he negotiated guaranteed a favorable outcome.
