The day we went is was pretty windy in the open water, so it was a bit of a struggle getting to the Three Sisters Springs. We did see about 15 total, but not many very close. You can't predict how the wind is going to be or how many manatees you'll see. Overall the company did a good job with the experience and making it as enjoyable as possible. We originally booked an afternoon tour, but weather changed and I needed to make a last minute change. They were absolutely amazing and moved us up to a morning you, no issues. On a recent trip to Florida we decided to make the hour and a half drive from Orlando and do something a bit different. Since we aren't familiar with the canals or bays here we chose to book a guided tour. Everything we needed was supplied for the tour. I booked the manatee tour the day before we went. Since it's normally cooler in February the manatees come into the springs to keep warm. Unfortunately for us there was a heat wave and the manatees headed out. Although we didn't get to enjoy views of the manatees through the see through canoes we did enjoy seeing everything we were rowing over. Our guide Quentin was excellent. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Since we are a family of five, my youngest son went in the canoe with Quentin. He was incredibly patient with my very, very talkative child. He even went hunting for lizards with him after we were back on shore. I highly recommend this tour company. We'll definitely be back to do their other tours one day. read more

So glad we went with this company. The kayaks might not be crystal clear but you can see some things below if the lighting is just right. What I liked about the kayaks was the amount of space compared to the normal kayak. Our tour guide was Chris and he was super chill, answered any questions we had and didn't rush us. We were able to see 2 baby manatees and a momma near crystal river. There were tonnnss of people in this area so it was hard to get close enough. Also, they have a designated spot for them to be close enough but still in their natural habitat. Eventually we were started heading back and came across another mama and baby manatee. This time, our kayaks were right on top of them. They're so peaceful and exciting to see! Overall, we spent ~$168 (including tip) for two people and $5 for parking. This is a late review but I really wanted to do this justice and take my time - this was the best Kayaking experience we had ! The reason we picked this particular company was because of their unique see-through Kayaks! We were actually able to see the beautiful gentle Manatees cross beneath our kayaks ! Apart from kayaks being unique, the whole experience was elevated by our guide , Josh, who had excellent knowledge of Manatees and the other wildlife as well as the various places we could see them. We saw a lot of Manatees!! We also saw birds like the Anhinga, Pelicans as well as several turtles. The best thing about this tour was that we got to experience nature without disturbing it. Josh was very careful about explaining how to maneuver around the Manatees without the oars disturbing them. It was a wonderful feeling just breathing in and out and being content! I highly recommend the tour by Get up and go Kayak - there is much to see. The best time to go would be in the winter months from November to February. I recommend the first tour slot that starts at 9 - there are few people on the waters then and it is far more peaceful. It tends to be a bit cold so best wear a wind jacket . I appreciate that the all tour groups in Crystal Manatee are very cautious about not disturbing or hurting the animals. I hope it remains a safe haven for Manatees as it has been all this time! read more

Overall, this experience and the use of the clear kayaks was amazing. On my trip, I've had opportunities to see manatees at a distance, but I wanted to find a way to get a closer look. After searching online, I found these awesome see through kayaks and purchased spots at the Crystal River excursion. Our guide, Tyler was really great. He was knowledge about manatees and the area. He also did a great job keeping our group safe and positioned best in spots to see manatees. Our group also included a family with 4 kids. It was very cool to see the kids able to participate in this as well. In a course of a little over 2 hours, we saw about 5 manatees. A couple even swam right under our boat, which was absolutely amazing. I was however a little disappointed that I came to the area right at the end of the season and the number of manatees was dramatically less than it could be. But, overall I had an amazing time and I want to do this again in the future during prime season. Tips: - Make sure to check when manatee season is. The amount of manatee in the area was limited on my trip, right at the end of March. - The kayaks are 2 seaters. So, come in a pair and also offers good opportunities to group a parent with a kid. A single lady was also paired with our guide, which was a prime spot to be in if you asked me. - When I was there, it was more overcast and a bit cloudy. This made visibility a little harder, where visibility is optimal when it's sunny. But, you have to weight your options (cooler morning with possible less visibility versus hot afternoon with great visibility) read more

This review is for Crystal River with our tour guide Shade. First, I want to say that this area is such a beautiful and unique experience to have at least once in a lifetime. The area is well maintained and the surrounding foliage is breathtaking. Additionally, the vibes along the Kings Bay Area are totally laid back and chill. You will see many small boats lounging around the bay, playing music and plenty of people hanging in the water. It is definitely not a vibe found anywhere else other than Florida. Our group came somewhat late ( only arriving 10 mins early) and scatterbrained. However, Shade was completely patient with our group and explained the procedure to the entire group very clearly. All of the party members were able to pick out a kayak and somewhat expertly clamber on with much of Shade's help. Given that it is only a 2 hour tour, the experience went by so fast! It does take some time to paddle to the Three Sister Springs, but the work to get there was worth it! It was such a beautiful and serene setting. Although I am glad that we picked this tour, I would definitely prefer to rent out the kayaks for the day just to take as much time exploring the other little nooks and crannies this bay has to offer. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this tour to do while in Florida. Today my husband and I decided last minute we wanted to do a kayak tour. It was easy to reserve a tour for the same day. Even though it wasn't manatee season we did see a few including a calf. Quinton was our tour guide and he was great and super friendly. There were other in our group all ages (children to elders) he was patient and made sure we didn't go to far for the slower kayakers. I've been on this tour twice as two of my out of town friends wanted to go. I absolutely love the clear kayaks and the guided tour. The clear water is absolutely amazing and there are quite a few spots where you can get out and take pictures. My tour guide was Austin and he is knowledgeable and funny. People are often concerned about their safety with the wildlife but our guide made us feel very safe. We also got to see beautiful birds, turtles, an armadillo and even a deer. Tip: wear shorts, bring water shoes, keys/phone/sunscreen in a gallon ziplock. You can keep the bad behind the seat. read more

I found out about this place from Facebook/instagram and have been looking forward to visiting for months! I was visiting Tampa but we chose the Crystal Rivers location to increase our odds of seeing manatees. The whole online booking process and waiver were incredibly easy to fill out. The day before our reservation I received a call saying that due to bad weather forecast our trip was likely to be cancelled, and I was super upset! I was only visiting for the weekend so I was afraid I wouldn't get a chance to go. Thankfully, the weather the following day was promising and they were able to change my reservation. We paid $5 for parking and there were public bathrooms to use before the trip. We met our guide, and the two other ladies that were making the trip with us. The route was super Easy but somewhat boring as you just followed the marina and there were so many other kayakers and swimmers around. We did however get to see lots of manatees, so it was a win-win situation either way. I loved having the clear kayak and being able to see the manatees and fish zoom by beneath us! This tour was so much fun! We kayak/canoed about 3 miles total into King's Bay, near Magnolia Springs, and near Three Sister's Springs. I have canoed before, but never kayaked and I still think it was very beginner-friendly, and not super strenuous. As it is manatee season here, we could not paddle into the springs (they are sanctuaries for the manatee in the winter and therefore protected) but we still saw the crystal clear water of the springs which looked so cool through the clear kayaks! We went on a pretty warm day, so we only saw 2 manatees, but the experience was still amazing! Quentin, our tour guide, was so helpful, knowledgeable and very respectful of the manatees. He explained that the manatees like to go into the deeper waters of the bay for food on the warmer days, and stay in the springs during the cooler days. We went on an 80+ degree day so I'm thinking a cooler day might be better to see more manatees. Either way, would totally come back again for sure, maybe on a cooler day! Tips: he helps you in/out of the boats and says he's never had anyone fall out before, but you will probably get a little wet from paddling so wear appropriate clothing! Only things I brought with me were a water bottle, sunscreen, a towel, a hat and my phone. I bought a water resistant cell phone bag from Walmart for $5 that lets you take photos through the bag, and my picture still turned out great! Put anything else in a ziplock and you're good to go! read more

We saw a manatee, dolphins, stingrays, the mangrove tunnels were spectacular, the jumping mullet were hilarious to watch and Shell Island has great shells! Be sure to hang a shell on a shell tree for good luck! Charlie was very knowledgeable about the environment and ecosystems in the area and we learned a lot. Recommend going in the morning before it gets too hot (we went at 9 am). It is helpful if you have some experience with kayaking as the wind and currents require a moderate amount of paddling. My nephew and I had the BEST time on the Kayak Tour in Tarpon Springs. The tandem clear bottom kayaks made it extra unique, and our guide, Charlie made the almost two hour tour beyond special.
