We had already decided on the cruise we wanted to take, and we had booked it separately. We started to put together what we wanted to do on the land tour, and doing the planning on our own quickly became overwhelming. We looked at several websites that offered travel arrangements and we decided on Alaska Tour & Travel. Mostly because the Best of Denali & Kenai Fjords Tour 120 offered a variety of activities and things we wanted to do. It was an even bigger bonus to find out that we could make alterations to further enhance our tour. Even with those alterations, they were able to put the journey together in a seamless manner, leaving us to just enjoy Alaska without the worry of how we were going to get from one destination or excursion to the next. From start to end, Alaska Tour & Travel was there to assist us and keep us informed as the trip progressed. This was so comforting and made our trip very enjoyable. With the planning services we received, we can't say enough good things about Alaska Tour & Travel. She was a wealth of knowledge and such a fun person to spend the day with. Everywhere we went, she seemed to know everything. She interspersed personal anecdotes allowing us to get to know her better and to understand more about the area. Everything was included in the price of the tour. Lunch (of your choice - not just preset options), a beer at the brewery, and admission to the nature center were all taken care of. There were also snacks and water available in the van. We got lucky with a small group (4 people including us!), but the van only holds 13 people - much better than the giant coach busses! I cannot recommend Salmon Berry, and Michelle in particular, highly enough

The owner of AlaskaVacationStore - Wigi Tozzi - lacks courtesy, etiquette, customer service and professionalism. He has no idea what 'customer satisfaction' means. I am really surprised the way this company operates and how they still manage to be in business?? Experience Details: Made first enquiry call to Wigi and thought of him to be trustworthy tour operator. He sent impressive tour details and quoted a very high price. Even then, I fell for the plan and trusted him - BIG MISTAKE. As soon as I took the bait and made the commitment, his communication style changed from excellent to I-do-not-care attitude towards me. All communications were always one sided...initiated by me... never once did I get a call back from Wigi... Usually the vendor calls customer for payment, but in this case, surprisingly, I had to call him 10 times so that he can accept my payment and finalize the bookings. Due to the high price quoted by Wigi, I had to cut bear watching tour from my itinerary to save myself some money, at the end of the planning Wigi increased the quoted price anyways siting hotel unavailability and other reasons. He completed bookings very late in June even when I said YES in March. His strategy was to make me wait for 2 months, so that at the last moment he can increase price and I'll have no option but to say yes to whatever price and hotel changes he offers me. Terrible and shameless way to make money out of your clients! This has been by far the worst experience for me. AlaskaVacationStore works purely on commission basis and doesn't care what their customers wants. Wigi Tozzi is by far the worst tour operator I have ever done business with. He lacks courtesy, formal communication skills, ethics, and flexibility. He made me pick high priced hotels as part of the package and later charged the extra price to me. In our trip, we could not take the Talkeetna Air Taxi due to bad weather and I asked Wigi for refund. After 2 months of numerous frustration filled phone calls and emails, he finally refunded the amount. I work in service industry myself and after coming back from my Alaska vacation, at least 8-10 of my American co-workers, managers and friends made serious enquiries about AlasaVacationStore and I honestly told them - NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH WIGI. 4 months of terrible customer service experience!!

The trip included much more than seeing the northern lights. We went dog sledding, hiked in crampons on a frozen creek, went to an ice carving festival, went sledding, and had a fantastic time. We booked the 7.5-hour cruise online, and the check-in process was smooth. We didn't realize until…read morewe got on the boat that our seating was assigned in a table and shared with two other people. The window seats at the tables are first come, first served, so that's something to keep in mind. The service was good, and everyone throughout the tour was very helpful and kind. The captain and crew were great and provided lots of interesting information about the surrounding area, wildlife, and glaciers. They also offered a tequila tasting when we reached the glacier area, with the tequila served over glacier ice, which was a unique touch. At the end of the cruise, they gave us a complimentary brownie, which was a nice little treat. Drink price and quality plus hot dog that we ordered were good. When booking online, we had the option to choose our meal, and we requested a gluten-free turkey club. Unfortunately, when our section was called for food, the gluten-free meal wasn't ready and took quite a while to arrive. Also the regular snack option included chips and a granola bar, while the gluten-free option came with two bags of chips instead. It would have been nice to have a little more variety for the gluten-free option. Overall, we really enjoyed the cruise, the scenery, and the wonderful staff. It was a memorable experience and I would recommend it.
