We got the 3 taco combo: #1 Birria quesa: braised beef, melted quesa, cilantro and onion, consome 4/5 #7 hot honey chicken: fried chicken, hot honey, pickles, cabbage slaw, and sriracha aioli 4.5/5 #10 baja fish: fried fish, shredded lettuce, pico, pickled onion, lime crema, sriracha aioli 3/5 The seasoned fries were okay. Ghost Taco makes yummy tacos. A Yelp experience over a month ago brought me here. I dropped by recently to get my fix. This eatery is fairly new to Main Street South. Parking along this main drag can be a bit difficult, especially on weekends and evenings. Alternatives consist of parking at the corner, behind that quiet business, or at Newmarket Commons Riverwalk. The latter is a short walk across the bridge, with Fairy Lake under it. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I got Kyle, the manager, the first time. I got a different male staffer when I dropped by a second time. Both were nice and helpful guiding me through everything. I have consumed the following tacos and drink: - Birria supreme - Baja fish - Charred brussels sprout - Jarritos pineapple drink - Jarritos lime drink I love the Jarritos drinks. The pineapple and lime were cold, refreshing, and delicious. Both drinks weren't as sweet as I had imagined them to be. Bonus! You can order on Uber Eats and pick your food up. Both times, I headed to the eatery and ordered there. I dined in both times. It doesn't take long for the tacos to be made, unless there's someone ahead of you ordering thirty of them for some reason. It was nice that my food was brought to me both times to my table. So nice! Customer service was wonderful, where staff tell you which taco is what flavour. The birria supreme is awesome. It comes with consommé for dunking. The birria quesa was so flavourful and tender. It had shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, garlic crema, and scallions. The taco shell stayed intact throughout its existence as I dunked it into the consommé before taking a bite. The baja fish taco is good. The white fish was lightly battered. I appreciated it. I wish that it were more crispy. It was still yummy. It had pico de gallo, pickled onion, iceberg slaw, sriracha aioli, and lime crema. I enjoyed the textures that made this taco so enjoyable to devour. The charred brussels sprout taco was outstanding. I love brussels sprouts when they are perfectly charred, which they were. It had kale slaw, cotija cheese, green onion, guacamole, and lime crema. The flavours were amazing. I loved this taco so much that I forgot that it was vegetarian. This eatery has two washrooms, with each being an individual stall. Both times that I used the washroom before heading home were clean. The colours in each one were vibrant and cheerful. This eatery is a nice addition to Newmarket's Main Street. The food is yummy and staff are super friendly. I can't wait to head back again. I have only ever gotten Ghost Taco delivered but I am loving them! That is truly saying something because until I went to Fonda Balam a couple months back, I really could not care less about a taco. Now I think I've had Ghost Taco delivered 3x in the past month or two! I am not sure what service is like since I've never been in but every order has been packed beautifully. I also don't know the ambiance well but I did walk by the restaurant when they were getting ready to open and it looked nice, clean and bright inside. The important part is the food though so what do I get? Tacos!! I've tried 4 different kinds and I will put them in order of my most to least favorite: Alabama Fried Chicken, Poblano Con Queso, Birria Quesa, Crispy Korean Tofu. That said, even my least favorite of the four was delicious with great flavor and clearly quality ingredients. Plus, you gotta get the churros! The only thing I've tried from here and didn't love was the charred brussel sprouts, which were just too charred for me. I've been to this Ghost Tacos a couple of times and it's an epitome of Canadian service and food quality. The person behind the counter was very courteous, he came out of the counter and showed and explained the menu on the screen. He even brought the food to the table. The food was delicious and up to the best standards. The music playing was soothing and nothing noisy at all. The toilets are extremely clean and well stocked. I highly recommend this tacos joint. One suggestion to the team, please increase the size of your servings, they're not at all filling. Other than that, perfect! The parking maybe a bit of a hassle as it's only available by the road side. read more

Came here on a Friday night at around 6pm and it started to get busy at around 630p even though it's raining outside. Greeted by nice staff upon entrance. We bought the churro which was about $10/6 pieces and the cup of fries of about $5. Fries was decent with some spice. And the churro was fluffy and well coated with sugar. These tacos were delicious. The place is right on Main Street Newmarket so perfect for walking around and getting a bite to eat. The tacos were all delicious. My favourite was the birria. Sooo much flavour. I wouldn't get the baja fish one again, just nothing special and the fish was okay. I liked the Alabama chicken but birria stilll stole the show. Ordered takeout for three and ate at a table outside near the restaurant (I don't think this place has outdoor seating). Good tacos, we got carnitas, braised beef and the chicken option that was not fried. I would say that the 2-taco combo, with chips and dip or fries plus drink for $15.99 seemed pricey for the amount of food we got. I think if I came back, the three- or four- taco meal with no sides is a better deal. And bring my own water. The service was friendly, but they never asked me if I wanted my fries seasoned, and they seasoned my son's fries and no option was given to me, and I didn't know. Also, on one of the combos, we ordered chips and we had to return because they forget to give us the pico de gallo. The restaurant has some seating and they open up the front window in the summer which is nice. I give it three stars, because I would like to give four stars, but there was a kid making the food who had a longer hairstyle and he was not wearing a hat or a hair net. It was really making me nervous that his long hair was going to end up in my food. So I am taking 0.5 to 1 star off for food hygiene. read more

LOVE ghost tacos! We've been to the popup location many times in the Eventmrkt, and can't wait until the official location opens up soon! The tacos are always delicious and packed with flavour. Our favourite is the birria taco - sooo good! Came in a crispy shell, with stringy cheese & an amazing dipping sauce on the side. The dipping sauce was so good we ended up dipping all our tacos in it by the very end haha. Would not recommend the brussel sprouts, however - they were super salty and were quite burnt. read more

What makes it unique is that the concept alternates every day between Ghost Taco, a taco place, and Lou Bird's Fried Chicken, which does fried chicken. Had the Birria (Beef), Mahi Mahi (Fish) and Puerco Pibil (Pork) tacos. The birria was very good. It came in a slightly crispy shell. It had a lot of tasty beef & was nice with stringy cheese. It also came with a rich, tasty dipping sauce (I drank it up after I was done with the taco). The pork was good. It had a lot of meat & the lime mayo added lightness. I ordered on doordash and the food was packed well, I got the assorted box of 3 tacos and you can pick all different ones. The charged Brussel sprout one was my favorite. Came here with my mom and grandpa and let me tell you! Staff were really kind, the ambiance of the restaurant was nice, and the tacos were delicious!!! The one thing I would say is prepare to wait a while for the food, however it was worth the wait for the tacos. Came here twice, tasted quite good, especially the birria tacos which tasted great. The price point is pretty high, especially for their rather simple setup and lack of full restaurant services. This is already with their "4 for $15" promotion which applies when you purchase 4 tacos of the same flavour. The portions are also quite small, with an even smaller taco size for the birria tacos. They offer extra chilli oil standard with all orders which is definitely a bonus if you'd like to spice it up (especially paired with the ghost pepper shirmp tacos) I'd definitely come back if I had a craving for birria but won't make the trip for any of the other flavours. read more

Oh my GOD ghost taco is HEAVENLY! It's a cute little place on main st. They have the best tacos I've had since i lived in Florida where Mexican/Latin food is king. I am so picky when it comes to tacos and it is my least favorite food because of the other taco places that I've been to were meh. I am kind of glad that I tried this place after a friend's review on facebook. My husband and I ordered off of skip the dishes and it was so quick and so fresh! $5 bucks per taco might seem expensive but it was so worth it. We ordered 2 Mahi mahi tacos, 2 birria quesa tacos and 2 ghost shrimp tacos. Mahi Mahi - so freeeeaaaking goood. The fish was so fresh and crispy and dare I say it, it trumps all the other fish tacos out there. A quirt of freshly squeezed lime with their ghost chilli oil - OMG. It is pure heaven. Birria Quesa - I enjoyed this one soooo much. After seeing too many instagram stories of this famous taco, I really wanted to try it out and see what the fuss was about. The beef was sooooo tender and the crispy tortilla shell brings it to a whole another level. The consome dipping sauce mixed with the chilli oil and their verde sauce - was HIGHER than heaven if that was possible. The Ghost shrimp taco - This had to be our absolute favorite taco out of the three. The amount of spices was there and that splash of fresh squeezed lime with the ghost chilli oil - SO BOMB. The Shrimp was cooked perfectly and was so juicy and succulent. I've had a share of shrimp tacos and this was absolutely delicious. My shrimp tacos are usually battered and fried (not that great) but surprisingly this was just amazing. My husband said that this was his absolute favorite and tried to trade his other taco plus a bribe for my shrimp taco. That says a lot! It was SOOOO goood. This place has turned me into a taco lover. I am so glad that this place exists in Newmarket. Don't EVER GO AWAY! Simply our new favorite place to have dinner! I'll be day dreaming about the next taco dinner. AHhhh it was so good. One of my favourite little fast-food joints in all of Newmarket. They never let you down! Not cheap, but they offer great food. Service is great as well. I'm giving Ghost Taco an overall 3.5-4. This is an average of my four visits. The food can be great but not consistent. First time I was there it was absolutely delicious. I had the tacos - 1 Birria, 1 Alabama chicken and 1 Brussels sprouts. Best one is the beef birria with dipping sauce. Yum. Second time I was there I would give it a three. Got the beef birria, chicken and poblano tacos. The lettuce on the chicken taco tasted like bagged lettuce and turned me off. Soggy and sour. Third time I had the beef birria bowl with lettuce. It was so delicious I couldn't wait to come back and have it again. 5 stars for sure. Fourth visit I had the birria bowl and I would rate it a 2. I got a big blob of meat that wasn't shredded and really didn't shred too well. I got a mouthful of fat in one of my bites. It was watery and the lettuce didn't taste good. Really really disappointing. Please please please Ghost Taco. More consistency please. If you are using bagged lettuce or lettuce that is less than fresh, stop! It's ruining your dishes. I want to love you. Brussels sprouts side dish is very good. Fries are good. Churros are great!! read more

The tacos were delicious but had no spice at all... even after adding the "ghost" chilli oil (and this is coming from somone who doesn't eat spicy foods that often).
