J'ai acheté mon vélo là. Bon vélo, Giant fait de bons vélos. Mais attention, la priorité du proprio est uniquement de faire des ventes! Une fois le paiement effectué, tout tombe à zéro. Le vide total... Service après-vente nul. Espérez que vous n'aurez jamais à y retourner. Pas que le technicien n'est pas bon. Il est très sympa. Mais le propriétaire ne pense qu'à vendre et ne semble pas comprendre que les clients qui achètent chez lui veulent 1 chose simple côté après-vente: La priorité quand ils ont besoin de service et un service rapide offert par une main d'œuvre suffisante et bien entraînée. " C'est pas d'ma faute, il y a trop de clients! " Voici l'excuse fournie à chaque fois par le proprio... " Que feriez-vous à ma place? " En management 101, en période d'affluence, on fait quoi? * ON ENGAGE DU MONDE! o Il manque peut-être de médecins et d'ingénieurs à Montréal, mais des techniciens capables de réparer des vélos... J'ai été extrêmement bien servi par Olivier lors de ma première visite durant laquelle je voulais confirmer mon choix de modèle Giant. Le service est professionnel et honnête. Ce sont les besoins du client qui priment et non la quantité de produit à vendre. Les retours d'information par courriel sont très rapides. Deux jours ont suffit pour préparer le vélo suite à ma commande. Autant d'attention est portée pour finaliser le positionnement sur le vélo et les explications sur l'utilisation et la maintenance du vélo. Mon conjoint a acheter son vélo et certains ajustement n'avaient pas bien été fait lors de l'usinage! Nous sommes donc retourné pour voir ce qui n'allait pas! Ozvaldo, le technicien, nous a super bien servi! Il a pris le temps de tout revoir le vélo pièces par pièces et de faire tous les ajustements pour que le vélo soit à son meilleur! une bonne heure de service sans aucun frais! This place hasn't changed one bit. We thought we'd give it another chance after a terrible experience years ago but it's even more poorly run than before. We spent $6k on a bike and were told it would be ready within a day or two at most by the owner. Hadn't heard from them by 5 days and called. Told 4 more days but guaranteed it would be available on open. Can you guess where this is going? Yeah, no bike. Did they even have it? Who knows. Please spend your money elsewhere. They'll say anything to make a sale. Martin Swiss and Néron have been better experiences overall. read more

I went to the shop because riding my bike was too painful for my neck and I was told I needed to change a part to adjust it better. The guys were really busy but they took the time to look into my issue. Turns out, my saddle was too high and the handlebar needed adjusting too. Now I'm just back home from a 30k pain-free ride! 100% recommend the place, staff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient and I had an amazing service. I would recommend this bike shop first for regular maintenance and repairs in the NDG & Westmount neighbourhoods. Service has always been pretty speedy and efficient and the wait time for larger repairs is only a few days (shorter than some other bike shops in the area). There are two mechanics there who have been particularly generous over multiple visits, answering questions on both immediate issues and possible longer-term changes to my set-up. The only drawback is that it's a branded store rather than an independent bike shop, so the prices are high if you're looking for gear. read more

One star?! A bike shop, which will not let you try a bike, or even attempt to put it on rollers/trainer (IE won't let you ride it because they "don't have demos) is not a shop interested in putting you first as a rider/cyclist. The young lady seemed miffed that we were going to walk out after she let us "sit" on a bike - but that was it. Apparently you have to buy a bike before they'll really let you try it. Not worth your time unless you're sure a bike is for you. Even then, I would look elsewhere for a business to support (unfortunately). Nice looking shop though, top notch design. read more

I bought a Giant bike, despite Giant's best efforts not to sell me one. I'll start off by stating clearly that this store is part of the problem, but it's just a symbol of how poor Giant Canada is in general. All the signs were there, but I ignored them, went ahead and bought a new Giant bike anyways. The bike itself was decent. The support behind it was literally non-existent. TL;DR If you really have your eye set on a certain model Giant bike, buy it used. You'll get the same level of support as if you bought it new - none - and save yourself a few hundred dollars. I actually started off by calling the Giant Montreal store back in November 2016 to ask if they had a specific model and size. I planned on using this bike for my first winter cycling. It was a 'dual sport' bike with comfy geometry that could fit the size of winter tires I planned on using and had disc brakes. When I called the shop and told them what I was looking for, the sales rep asked me what I planned to use it for. I told him, and he initially tried to discourage me from getting that (2017) model and instead recommended a higher end (2016) model. When I made it clear I wasn't interested in that model, he then recommended a lower end (2016) model that neither had disc brakes nor clearance for the tires I planned on running. I eventually figured out the reason he was recommending other bikes is that he did not have the bike I wanted in stock, and apparently wouldn't be getting it in until either April or June 2017 (he didn't seem too sure). However, he had left-over stock of the two 2016 models he was trying to pawn off on me. After a bit of effort on my part, I eventually located the 2017 model I wanted at another Giant dealer (about three hours) out of town. The experience with that shop was terrible, but that is a separate review. Anyhow, my hunch about the bike being pretty good for winter panned out. But it wasn't completely smooth sailing. As most companies do these days, Giant cut corners to reduce the price of the bike. And one of the parts they went cheap on failed. When I bought the bike, I was told that it came with a lifetime warranty on the frame and a 1 year warranty on the parts. I figured even if I didn't buy the bike from Giant Montreal, they could at least help me with the warranty. Nope. First thing the sales rep did when I walked in to the store with my 2017 model bike was ask me whether I had bought it there. I hadn't, and I explained to them I'd actually tried to buy it there last year, but they didn't have it in stock. At that point, they pretty much did everything short of just tell me to get out. I asked if they could help me get the part I needed, they said they didn't sell small parts like that. I asked if they could order it from Giant and they said no. Funny side note - There was just one other (potential) customer in the shop that day. He witnessed this exchange. After they completely shut me down (there were three staff, that one potential customer and me in the shop, so it's not like it was busy), it was apparent from his body language this one (potential) customer was reconsidering. He was likely thinking, "Gee, if they treat this guy like that, they'll probably treat me the same way if I ever have an issue with my bike." Since the store refused to help me source the part I needed, which should have been covered under warranty (bought bike new less than 6 months earlier), I figured I'd try contacting Giant Canada to see if they could help me source the part. Nope. They said they did't sell that part separately, it was only available with a new bike. They did, however, tell me to check with my local bike shop, as their service department may have the part. See above for my experience with said shop. (Note - It was a proprietary part, so not something any bike shop would carry... not that it matters, since it was supposed to be covered under warranty either way.) In summary: Avoid Giant Montreal... more generally, avoid buying a new Giant bike all together. If you think you'll get any support from either your local Giant shop or Giant Canada after buying a new bike from them, you will be disappointed. You'd be better off getting that same bike used off of craigslist or kijiji. You'll get the same level of support as if you'd bought it new - none - but you'll save a few hundred dollars that you can put toward buying parts and service for your bike elsewhere. read more

It took them over 6 months to fix my bike and very time I spoke to them while they had my bike, they gave me a different story about what they were doing to it, and why it was taking so long. The tune up and cleaning was not what they promised. My drivetrain was still dirty when I finally got my bike back. The new chain and cassette they installed squeak and when they returned my bike to me, the front wheel was severely out of true and the font hub was loose. When I asked them to fix the wheel they took it in back for only 5 minutes and came back telling me it was not perfect because I had hit a pothole they would not be able to get it perfect. Sounded like a pretty lame story to me, I never heard of a bike shop saying they couldn't fix something like a crooked wheel. I paid over 100 bucks for their service and still had to go somewhere else and spend another 40 to fix what they did. Of course a different bike shop had no issues fixing what was wrong with my wheel. Never go to Giant, I felt like I was being lied to the whole 6 months they had my bike and when I got it back. read more

This is a terrible store, young very inexperienced mechanics with no love or respect for the bikes they work on. Very sloppy work for both repairs and cleaning. Giant branded tools they sell are very poor quality. Took them three months to order me a very common part for my bike. Were supposed to clean my bike but I could have done a better job myself. Work was sloppy, sales people were pushy. Gaint makes great bikes but better off buying one at a different vendor. read more

The people at Giant Montreal really helped me out. I have a Giant bike and some jerk recently tried to unscrew my handlebars to steal my bike. They failed, but also left me with one screw missing. I went absolutely everywhere (hardware store, bike shops, etc) to replace it, but I couldn't find the right one. I contacted Giant in Montreal via email (as I don't live in Mtl anymore) and they very kindly looked through their parts, found a piece that matched the one I needed and a friend of mine picked it up from them. My bike is now fixed and it's thanks to their help, so thank you very much for taking the time to help me out! J'ai fini par contacter Giant à Montréal par courriel (j'habite plus à Montréal) et ils ont pris le temps de chercher la pièce, d'en trouver une très similaire et une de mes amies est passée la prendre. Mon vélo est de nouveau fonctionnel et c'est grâce à eux, alors merci beaucoup d'avoir pris le temps de m'aider!
