I love this Canadian chain so much that I had to check this store out. It's an older store. It's also different. A CIBC ATM machine greeted me. It was my first seeing any ATM at a Giant Tiger store. Produce appeared in front of me. I saw a bag of pears. I decided to get one. This store has a decent variety of plushies. There were Squishmallows and Sesame Street plushies at decent prices. I ended up getting a Cookie Monster plushie that screamed cute. The grocery section was nice. The produce looked great. I loved the variety of apples in bags. The cases of ramen made me happy. You know you're in Winnipeg when you can get a Winnipeg Jets zamboni coin bank. It was cool to see. I almost got one. This store was different. It had a purified water centre in the back of the store. It was busy! I paid for my items at a self-checkout kiosk. I had no problem entering my phone number associated with my VIP rewards, scanning my items, and paying for them with a credit card. The transaction went smoothly. What I found weird was seeing all the cheap clothing as I exited the store. Shouldn't it be after you enter the store?! If you need a pay phone, there's an MTS one just before you exit the store. The pears were yummy. I actually brought a couple of them back on the plane because the bag had a generous number of them. They held up nicely. It's an older store. I like its quirkiness. It did have items that I wanted and needed. I'd return when I'm in the area again. (272)

Everything I go to walmart no matter which one it is they come up to me while I'm checking out using self checkout and say something along the lines of "can I bother you for a second" this time I flat out said I'm not interested in a credit card before she even asked. At least this person dropped it. Usually though these, employees will keep pestering you and trying to convince you that you need it. Literally, I don't. There are better ones out there. My mum made the mistake of agreeing to it, and it's so bad. I tend to avoid walmart just because they bug you about their stupid credit card, I stopped going to cashiers because of this, so don't come up to me at the self checkout to ask. If I wanted oen I'd get one. Walmart is so irritating for this. Now to this location in general, l, nice location handy to have right in the mall which I usually end up at either before or after the movie. This location is semi organised and can usually find what I'm looking for. The sad thing is that they don't carry many plus sizes in their clothing, so my sibling can't get anything in her size. Grocery wise, this store isn't any better than any of the other stores. It's all around the same price, not really a good value unless it's on sale, which even then is it, tho?

I could say something otherwise to the electronic department for not having a lot of collectibles from Neca or Funko Pops, overall it's just getting better, by the time I get to a 3rd Walmart location, I might just have a different point of view.

However, returning to this city on vacation as a sentimental ex-Winnipegger, I hung out at this mall for seven hours. The mall person returned. It's still in me. I hadn't been to this mall since 2016, so it was worth the visit. It's a decent mall. It's a medium-sized one in that there's only one floor. Hudson's Bay (it has a Zellers!), London Drugs, Walmart, and Dollarama are your anchor stores. In 2016, I spent a lot of time and did a lot of damage at London Drugs. On this visit to the mall, I didn't visit any of these stores. I wanted to check out the other stores that I had missed. SilverCity, Hudson's Bay, Purdy's Chocolates, and Indigo were stores that I recognized. They have endured the test of time. I like them a lot. Everything else was new. I could picture the old HMV and Branigan's restaurant when you first enter mall entrance 3 and hit the food court. They are gone. The food court is still excellent. I had a late lunch at Koya Japan and my meal was excellent. I visited a bunch of stores that I had never been to at this mall. Miniso. SoftMoc. Sephora. Claire's. They are all cool stores that I enjoyed visiting and making some purchases. There is a lot of parking at this mall. It may get nuts during Boxing Day or week or month. I have never had any issues parking at this mall. This mall has an Earl's restaurant. I last dined there in 2016 and loved it. There's also Sushi Gozen by London Drugs that I'd like to try someday. I recently met up with a couple of friends here. We caught up over some Timmy's drinks and snacks. It was nice and a memorable, happy experience. It's a decent mall. It has everything that I like and need. (316)

Both are still there, but are under the Indigo name. The one store at Polo Festival in St. James, which used to be steps away from the old Winnipeg Stadium, was one of my favourites. The other was this store in St. Vital Centre. It's an Indigo now. It still has that cozy feel of taking a few books, finding a cozy place to sit down and reading parts of them before deciding whether I wanted to commit to buying them. It also has a Starbucks cafe in the store. Back then, I rarely bought anything there. I can see myself doing it now, especially spending time on my phone and using the free wifi offered in the store. This bookstore is right outside the food court. You technically can grab a drink and food if nothing at Starbucks interests you. I came here to browse. I also wanted to see if I could get a gift and a birthday card for my friend. There was a plushie sale. I didn't get any, but the plushies were cute. This store always features books by Manitobans. One book, mmm... Manitoba, caught my attention. I didn't get it, but it's a book that I'd like to read and possibly buy. It shares stories about the foods that Manitobans eat. I will need to revisit it. I did find a card for my friend. I spent a while finding the perfect card for her. The card selection at Indigo never disappoints. However, some cards can be expensive. I found one going for $19. Yikes! I like the sales items. I saw mugs, reading socks, and more that were all discounted. I got a gift and a birthday card for my friend from this store. I went to pay for it and chatted with a friendly woman at the checkout. I got my Indigo rewards barcode scanned. I then paid for my items with a credit card. All was great. The woman asked if I needed a bag. My items were so small that they fit in my existing bag. I thanked her and left. Although I didn't spend as much time in this store as I used to when I lived in this city, it still felt cozy and familiar. I still love this store. I'm happy that it's still around. (312)
