Today 3-15-25 @ 1:40 pm I called about getting my hanger bearing replace. Whoever I talked to on the phone (I think it was the owner) said oh, that's a really big job! I told him that the International dealer quoted me 2 hours. He became super rude and said if they can do it in two hours then you better go there and when I asked him if he wanted to quote it he hung up on me. He was a total dick. I was broken down in beach north dakota sat for hours waiting for towing from my towing coverage im sure i would have waited 2 days there by luck i was able to contact mike at gibbs towing on a saturday he came and towed me to his shop in glendive mt i got a hotel he called in mechanics on sunday i was repaired and ready to go by noon .He is a life saver and highly recommend him.He really cares about people and seems his mission in life to take care of you. he was the only one that was available i would start my search in that area by calling gibbs towing.Also he needs more high quality employees lots of work to be done there so go work for him if you can read more

This review is long overdue but necessary... We were warned by the nice people in Terry about Glendive but tried our luck anyways since it was a bigger town. Big mistake! Experienced the absolute worse service from these guys. - BEWARE- Driving cross country in our Sportsmobile and noticed major hesitation around Terry MT heading 94E ,the vehicle was struggling to reach speeds over 45mpg so we took some dirt roads to Glendive and ended up getting a flat tire. It was the weekend (these guys are listed as 24hrs avail) so we called and were relieved by the man that answered. My wife spoke to him and he seemed nice, assured her that his business would be happy to help. He mentioned he was already out on a call but would have someone meet us at the Exxon Gas Station just half a mile from their big shop. A truck arrived, provided air for our tire and we followed him to the shop not even a half mile away. It's worth nothing that this mechanic was very slow, chatting with me the whole time and even asking for my help , more on this later... The mechanic first tried to plug our tire and could not, so he said he would take it to the tire shop on the other side of town and repair it after seeing what he could diagnose with our vehicle. The mechanic test drove our Sportsmobile and said it was definitely transmission. Checked the transmission fluid and it was filled and perfect. Then he made a phone call to his "buddy" who was an expert mechanic and waited about 15 minutes for his call back. He was told to check for the grounds as that can cause the erratic issue we were having. He found a ground wire that he thought was corroded so he said he would stop by the parts shop (Apparently Gibbs also owns) and would be back. Nearly 3 hours later the mechanic is back with the ground and the tire plugged which looked terrible but at least it was holding air. 3 hours people! The town of Glendive is not massive.... He installs the ground and takes the Sportsmobile for another test drive, same symptoms.... Vehicle does not want to accelerate past 45mph The mechanic says he wants to wait for the owner to come in and take a look. See if maybe he can see something that the mechanic might be missing. We wait 30 minutes The mechanic tells me there is pretty much nothing else they can do unless I want to tear into the transmission and they can't do that until Monday. Thinking I'm on the hook for a tire plug, a small $1.00 ground, and maybe a diagnostic fee, I ask for the total so we can square up, talk to the wife about options, and maybe get a hotel in town when this mechanic tells me the cost.... I was not ready for the insanity that would come next He starts going off that it's $150/hour for labor and $125 for the tire repair (PLUG) and he won't charge me for the ground wire, as if he is doing me a favor.... Grand Total $700 Who pays $125 for a plugged tire!?!? I should have a new tire for $125 All this time of being charged was because the mechanic is waiting on call backs, 3 hours plugging a tire, waiting for the owner to show up.. why am I paying for this I ask... I tell him to please bring the owner out as we are having an issue on price and in no universe am I paying that amount. The owner comes out and explains the price that he needs to bring in a mechanic on a weekend , and the mechanic was correct about his quoted hourly rate. I then proceed to explain that at no time, including our initial call was I quoted hourly rates, weekend hourly rates, and it starts to finally make sense why this slug of a mechanic was dragging so much a$$ all morning. I tell the owner all of the time that we are waiting on call backs, having to go to the tire shop, and even waiting for him to arrive. If I knew I was being charged $150 an hour, no way would I have been so laid back about everything. I was just thinking small town.... slow mechanic.... I walk away because I'm ready to just tell these clowns to pound sand and the wife wants to talk to the owner. She is absolutely pissed but a cooler head during this fiasco and at the end of it the owner charges us $350 which is still robbery..... I reluctantly pay. We end up going to have lunch and cool down while we wait for AAA to give us a tow out of Glendive to Dickinson ND. The tow truck driver, Justin , who also is a mechanic from Autobody Solutions in Miles City tells us all about the Gibbs , they are known for preying on people passing through with no other choice. I tell Justin my symptoms and he says it sounds like our catalytic converter has failed and the "biscuit" [is preventing exhaust from escaping. He says take it to a muffler shop first thing Monday morning and have them cut it open. Sure enough, Monday morning, the exhaust shop in Dickinson opens it up and there is the honeycomb biscuit broken down, blocking my exhaust from breathing. $100 later and the exhaust is fixed. read more

The owner mike is very rude. Charged $1300 to hook a scanner up to my vehicle to tell me that they cannot fix it. Would only take cash to pay the bill. Very rude to the other towing company guy that my insurance had come to tow my sprinter van out of his facility. Very bad service, Do not recommed. read more

If it weren't for Mike Gibbs, I'm not sure how long I would have been stranded on I 94 in the middle of the night. I am so grateful that Mike answered my call and persevered to get me the help I needed in the face of my terrible cell service, even when he knew he wouldn't be the one making the tow himself. Headed east and just over the Montana/North Dakota border, Mike knew I needed a tow into Dickinson, and got a hold of state troopers who were able to send a tow truck my way. It was a rough night, but without Mike, it would have been much worse. I am so grateful for him! read more

This place was AWESOME they came to the truck stop on a Saturday and helped us get to their shop and worked all day to fix our truck. Paul Green went out of his way to work with our owners and got us back on the road so we could deliver our load. Call these guys because they were unbelievable thanks again!!!!! read more

My daughter had over $600 worth of work done at this shop, one month later she finds a pulley on the ground and it appears the serpentine belt, this mechanic replaced, was the wrong size. They wanted to charge her over $200 to fix it. The mechanic was RUDE to me! I would NOT recommend this shop!!!!! read more

If your American truck or car needs service or is broken down on the road anywhere near Glendive MT (I-94), this is the shop you want to do the repair. They own an auto parts store in town so they can get the parts you need quickly. They are honest, prompt, and fair in their business dealings. You're just passing through and probably won't give them repeat business? They don't care. If you are a motorist in trouble, they will help you out just the same as they would for repeat customers in their own area. If this shop were in my home town, it would get all of my business. read more
