With no appointment, I walked into Tom Thumb Pharmacy around 3:20 and was immediately acknowledged. Pharmacy technicians are available to process your ID and vaccine paperwork. A small 10 minute wait, and in I went to their private patient room next to the pharmacy. Pharmacist Nicole Nguyen is very polite, professional and friendly. She was thorough in asking my medical history for allergens or allergic reactions. Alcohol swapped on my left arm, and received my 1st shot. Short sleeve top is suggested. And they ask you whether you want to have your left or right arm used. Your vaccine passport is presented to you, with instructions on receiving your 2nd shot. Safety protocol requires you to stay a quick 15 minutes afterward to make sure there is no fainting or dizziness. I thanked the staff with a little happy wave, they joined in and I left feeling appreciated and well looked after. These ladies were just excellent on customer service. Walk-in's for most pharamacy's is before 4pm right now as demand for getting vaccinated is rapidly growing. You can call or go online to schedule an appointment as well. I have multiple health issues and the manager has given me very personalized care, which has made me feel very confident with this pharmacy. The entire staff goes over and beyond to make sure you get your medications on time, even when doctors drag their heels responding to the pharmacy's multiple attempts to get approval for a refill. I have had doctor's prescribe multiple medications that should never been taken together resulting in serious health consequences. Samson, the manager, always makes time to answer my questions regarding dosages, side effects, and which meds can be taken together. You don't get that kind of service at Walgreens, CVS or pharmacies in the grocery stores where you routinely shop and use their pharmacies for convenience.
