The floors are warped from getting wet. You can feel the unevenness while you skate across them. It's in a general state of disrepair. Staff are stupid about letting inline skates onto the rink. I was told I couldn't use mine but they were fine letting several children use theirs. read more

Need better hours so kids have more chances to go roller skating and having fun not sure why there aren't more better hours

Take a step back (or maybe roll back) in time. We've been 2x now to let our daughter skate. This is really a place that hasn't changed much since it probably opened and shows just how you can have some good old-fashioned fun. Entrance plus skate rental is cheap and only for those actually skating. They have specials so keep an eye on Facebook for discounts. The concession stand is typically...pretzels, popcorn (for the record is half kettle corn half movie theater style and tasty) pizzas, soda, and candy. I wouldn't come here expecting great food, strictly entertainment. You can bring your own skates but they must be approved upon entrance. For beginners they will tighten skates but there are no walkers. This also houses a small area for indoor puttputt and martial arts. As a heads up you MUST put purses, coats, bags in a locker and the lockers require a quarter (regardless if you're skating or not). You will need a quarter every time you open/close the locker. This was my reason for 4 stars. Due to space there's little room for bags and coats the lockers are small and could add up if you need more than one or have to get in and out of the lockers while you are there. I thankfully had some quarters with me, otherwise we could have had issues. overall I love gibsons. I do have one issue now though... I've came to gibsons since I was 7 years old and not ONCE have I ever been disrespected the way I feel I have been tonight. I didn't recall getting my money given back to me and it certainly wasn't in my pockets so I went and asked them to double check for me if they did give it to me. they say they did. I brought $15 on $5 night but paid an extra $3 for blades that we're uncomfortable and so I didn't wear them and wore regular. That leaves me $2 to get a $1.50 bottle of water for my six year old. So I'm out of my water money and I asked if then I could get my money back for the blades I didn't use. Because all I'm wanting is to get a bottle of water and he completely disregarded my question. he does double check the drawer so the money is right on their end so I ask him again about the $3 for the blades I didn't use and I am ignored once again and told to hold on and does nothin. then I fall and am asked if I need ice and I decline and he fills out an incident report. He says to call me if he finds anything out but I don't know some just doesn't sit right with me. Im autistic so it's already hard for me to use confrontation to begin with and to be ignored prettt much really hurt my feelings. I've loved this place for several years and it really hurts my heart I was treated this way over just wanting a bottle of water :( overall this place is great though just make sure you don't use cash. We haven't been here for over two years and decided to go for open skate on a Wednesday. It was so nice to see the beautiful new wooden floor. The place looked so much better with the renovations they have done. The concessions looked a lot nicer too! It was nice to see the rink still doing quite well, business-wise(it was busy). It was also nice to see the Great Deals magazine had coupons for us to use. We will definitely be back soon! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. read more

Solid rink. Nice floor looks like they had new heaters. The music here was terrible, mid to late 70s disco and hip hop for three hours makes you want to leave but it an hour from indy so you gotta stay. All around solid but if they had a younger dj it would be 5 star. Couldn't believe the number of good skaters there on adult night. read more

The kids' Cousin had a Birthday party they attended at Gibson Arena, and what a disappointment! My twins are 4 years old and never had skates on. Apparently there is a polocy of NO ONE on the floor "without" skates.. This also included Adults helping young children. Am I the only person that thinks this is insane!! The rule implies that they have no problem with a little kid going out on the floor for the first time with no assistance and seriously hurting themselves. I can understand this rule being enforced on those just running around the ring unsupervised with no skates on. As I do understand that this could be dangerous, or cause a problem to those skating.. But when staff forces parents to leave their young children on the floor by themselves; How is an experienced child supposed to have fun? This was not only a disappointment but also very concerning for me as a mother. read more

This place is ok but my problem is the fact that if you have skates that have a black stopper you can't get in but they can give you skates with black stoppers, This makes no since. read more

Such a good skating rink I love going there with my friends! only reason I gave it 3 stars is because they do not have AC and its really stupid but other then that its a really good skating rink except for the kids vaping in the bathrooms but ITS SO FUN I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! read more

Loved walking in and being immediately handed a dirty T-shirt by the owner because my tank top and baggy sweatpants were not to his liking! (Keep in mind, I asked if there was a dress code and was told that there wasn't). Loved being stared at and given nasty looks by the staff all throughout the time I was there even more! I brought my special needs high functioning son here with his cousins to try something new. Didnt disclose with them prior to coming that he was on the autism spectrum an that this was something new we were attempting with him. We made it 1 lap before my son asked to leave. They suggested I forced him to do it anyway and when I asked about a refund for the people we paid for that didnt intend to continue to skate, fully intending on using it at the concession stand until they refused to offer as much as a compromise to make our experience a good one. Instead we left with a 57$ lesson, that unless you disclose your physical or mental disability prior to them they will not even attempt to accommodate any such special needs so their customers leave with a good experience. Also not even their water fountain is functional anymore; as per covid, you have to purchase even water for basic hydration. This place is under new management and its obviously not all good changes thats been made. Not to mention they haven't updated their building in decades aside from the floor. Yet they keep hiking up the prices of admission and skate rental. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. read more

Yes this does not make no since but they did just get new floors and I bet it was very expensive so if I was them I wouldn't let any other skates in they would use there skates and that would be the end of it they will loose a lot of customers but this is not fair how do u explain that to a child or u could just buy there stoppers and make them more money we poor people can't afford prices going up read more
