What a wonderful place! I was here for a Yelp Elite event coming up to Christmas and I had the most fun out of any Yelp event I had ever been to. These guys cater to kids and adults and have pottery/art/design classes and private events for all occasions. I drew a mug with a vagina on it. Yes that's right. A vagina! "Vaginas Scare Me" It was a masterpiece. We did our class whilst drinking wine. It was so much fun. I would recommend this place not just for kids but for hens/stags, birthday parties etc. Such a novel idea and you can bring your own drink with you. WELL. What a way to spend an afternoon!! This is the kind of thing that adults start off doing in a light-hearted, "ahh it's just a bit of fun" kind of way, but which you'll find very quickly turns into a much more concentrated and seriously-taken affair once people start noticing eachother's handywork.. The concentration gets to such a level that conversation more or less comes to a complete standstill, but you don't even notice because you're so engrossed in turning this little piece of pottery into a potential work of art, having just realised your life-changing passion for children's pottery-painting. We literally could have been there all day and night painting away, happy as can be, but unfortunately the lovely people who work here have lives to live outside of Giddy Studios. And when I say the staff were lovely, I mean SO lovely. They really couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, giving tips on how not to make a complete hames of our pottery pieces, and they steered clear of any condescending kid-friendly carry-on that you might expect from people who work with hyped-up children all day long. I would really recommend going to this place if you're trying to think of a fun, novel activity to do with friends; Go on, release your inner child pottery prodigy! read more

After the excellent Yelp paint-a-mug event, I just had to return to Giddy for a second visit. This time I brought my best buddy and her three daughters as a combined Christmas and birthday treat for all. The place was a bit rowdy with a large kids party already in full swing, but this just added to the atmosphere. They even offered us some cake, which was very nice of them. We picked our pottery to paint and got started. The girls working here were excellent. They helped, offered advice and tips. Brought us refreshments. Assisted in the final detail with the fine tip black paint bottle (think of it like liquid eyeliner). Their experienced really shone through when two of the three girls with us had finished painting their pottery... Boredom was averted when one of the Giddy girls quickly supplied us with frozen themed colouring in paper and pens. My mammy friend was full of praise at how good they were with her daughters. Four days later I receive the exciting news by text - our pottery had been fired and was ready to collect. How exciting. I rang ahead to see what time they closed. The girl kindly waited five mins after closing to give us time to get there. What service. And the finished pottery was just fantastic. They wrap each item up in cellophane and a ribbon. The cost of the pottery may seem pricey at first glance, but remember this includes the cost of the paint and equipment, the help of the fine staff, the facilities and the firing to finish off the pottery. Overall I think it's excellent value for what you get. Highly recommend Giddy Studios. A highly enjoyable way to spend a few hours. read more

... What do I have to say here! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I've been here now on 3 occasions and each time I have the best time ever... Select from pre-made pottery, they have everything you could want, little cartoon characters, saving pots, cups, plates, bowls, uh... Choice is always difficult! The price of the pottery piece you choose includes everything else, so includes your time at the studio painting it, all the paint, equipment you would need plus with staff on hand to give you instructions and help you along the way. It also includes the final coat and blasting in the fire to seal the paint and turn your piece of art into a useable everyday item for you! Adults, children... Everyone will enjoy this, I've brought my niece and nephew here too and they loved it, it's great having different activities to do with the kids that gets them away from movies or games and get's them back to basics, with art and creativity. The only downside is that after getting so excited about your work of art that you have to leave it with Giddy Studios for the burner process so it's a few days/following week before you can collect you're masterpiece, not such a problem for me as getting to/from dun drum is easy but can see it being troublesome for some people who don't live so close. If you were to ask me though, single best thing about this place... the Staff! Yes, they are 100% amazing, always so friendly and welcoming, having been back 3 times they remember me and even were able to recall what I painted a year ago, this is amazing customer service and really makes you value everything Giddy Studios is about. They are amazing and so patient, many thanks to you all at Giddy Studios; I continue to recommend you to everyone and have heard back positive things from friends who visited... I love this place! I have been here with friends, alone and with a couple of groups from work. Every time it was awesome. They have a huge selection of stuff to paint, think doggy bowls, plates, mugs, cartoon characters etc, staff are really helpful and they have loads of books and other pieces for inspiration if you are at a loss. Sometimes you can bring wine-as far as I know it's restricted to when kids are not there. They make a good effort for groups, pushing a bunch of tables together so you can all sit together and chat in between the painting. They explain how to paint and show you what it looks like before and after with each colours. They have tonnes of colours and brushes so you can get as creative as you want! They also serve tea and coffee. read more

Not just great Craic for kids! I had the pleasure of spending an evening in Giddy Studios recently, and can honestly say it was one of the best evenings I've had in a long time! I'm always on the hunt for creative things to do in Dublin and these guys certainly tick that box! I painted my own Christmas mug (see picture below...creative genius I know) and had an absolute ball doing so! If your booking a party, it's BYOB and you can bring catered food as well if you wish! The girls who work here are Insanely nice and super helpful! There was also someone an arms length away if I needed assistance or had a question about the paints! I HIGHLY recommend this place for kids parties and adult shin digs too! I think it would be fantastic for a corporate evening, birthday or baby shower! read more

Had such a good time at Giddy Studios yesterday. The last art class I took was about 12 years ago so I was a bit intimidated by an art-centric activity, but a couple of friends suggested it so I found myself painting a few jewellery boxes on a Saturday afternoon in the Dundrum shopping Center. First of all, staff is excellent. The girl welcomed us and told us to to pick something to paint before she explained how the paints work. They have loads of options, from doggy bowls to mugs to figurative castles, shoes, etc. We all chose a piece to paint (I went with the aforementioned jewellery boxes) and took a seat. The girl showed us a plate that shows what each colour looks like with one, two or three coats of pant and after being fired in the kiln. She then gave us a plethora of paintbrushes, cups of water to clean in between colours, and little plates to squirt the paint. We spent about 2.5 hours just painting away, it was really relaxing and satisfying when we were done. It's such an accessible activity and like a 15 min luas ride from city centre, so I'll definitely be back. They also serve coffee and tea, so I got a coffee that was actually really good and served in an adorable mug. All in all, it was a really fun day and such a nice departure from a drink or food-centric activity. Highly recommended, I could see it being fun for bachelorettes' parties or baby showers or whatever. read more

Well my friend picked pottery painting as her birthday activity and booked us into giddy studios on a Sunday afternoon. The set up is that you pay for the pottery piece you want to paint, so all the bowls, mugs, jugs, piggy banks etc are priced and this includes all the materials to paint your creation, and then they glaze and fire the pottery for you. I decided to invest in a large salad/fruit bowl as I'd been wanting a colourful one for ages. This was 39 euro and pretty much at the top end of their pieces, although none were particularly cheap. We had the system explained to us, and got given all our materials - they also have handy books of patterns, ideas and stencils if you don't know what to do. We all spent three hours painting our various pieces with a level of combined concentration and giddyness not experienced since we were small kids doing art in primary school. Staff at Giddy are super nice and really helpful and will willingly tell you all about kilns and glaze if you want to know. They also bring you teas and coffees while you work with different size paint brushes and sponges, get paint on your nose, wonder how you can possibly undo what you just did, and generally marvel at your inability to draw straight lines! While I can see that this is a lovely activity for kids of about 7 and up, it is fun for adults too. Our stuff should be completed in about 2 weeks and available for pick up (I'm hoping my piece will improve with age!!) Would definitely do it again! read more

Not just for kids.... Every time I drove past this place I always assumed it was for kids only, until yesterday. I was here at a Yelp event, hadn't a clue what to expect! It reminded me of being in play school... And to be honest - thats what it was like except for a few little tweaks! 1. It was amazing fun. 2. We were all drinking wine - its BYO! Great for groups. 3. We stopped for food! Yes, food was ordered in! 4. The crack was mighty. So we all started off kinda not being too serious about painting our cups, well that lasted about 5 mins! The competition was on! the competitive streak came out in everyone. We didn't want to leave and like in school, hands went up when we needed professional help and advice! which we received by the staff who were great fun and seriously know what they are doing.. I've already suggested this as a group activity in our office and for my friends! It was an alternative night of fun and you get to keep your masterpiece when its done! This place is all about arts and crafts, I had a great there. We did pottery, I painted my own mug, met lots of new people, enjoyed the nice atmosphere, decor and the combination of doing arts and having fun drinking a glass of champagne and food, it's a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday party. read more

i have been here a couple of times and it is always a great experience. the staff are super friendly and the building is really bright, colorful, and full of inspiration. you pay for the pottery itself, all paints and materials used and the final baking of the pot in the kiln are included in that price. prices range from about €8 for a egg cup to €50 for big salad bowls and other large items. painting pottery is a great first date activity as you can show off your artistic flare or sense of humour through your work and get a sense of your dates too. they text you a few days after when your pottery is ready. so you have to go back in and collect it, but then you get to see your date again when you deliver her handy work to her ;-) read more
